John and his team at Dave's Tree Experts greatly exceeded my expectations. When our family bought our house two years ago we inherited a row of sparse-looking pine trees in our side yard. The pines were tall enough to flirt with the overhead power lines and they were choking the yard space we could utilize on our corner lot. In addition, we had an overgrown mulberry tree growing like wildfire against a power pole and the main tree in our front yard had a large branch (hanging over the driveway, of course) that was beginning to split and sag. We came upon Dave's Tree Experts as they were helping our neighbors remove a tree. The crew at Dave's worked quickly and precisely and they had all the tools necessary to get a job done correctly - a bucket truck for the tall stuff, chainsaws, a chipper, a stump grinder, and rakes and blowers to clear the remaining debris when they were finished. I moseyed over to them and asked for an estimate, which they provided on the spot. Dave's Tree Experts came in much more reasonable than another quote we'd gotten for the same job. Having seen their work at the neighbors', and having been impressed with their reasonable price, we hired them on the spot. John, the owner and estimator, said it might be a week or two before they could be out to do the job. Imagine my surprise when they called the next day and offered to get started less than 24 hours after they provided the estimate! Dave's Tree Experts knocked down 6 trees, cut a dying branch off another, ground all the stumps, and removed all the debris, in just 3 hours. Their crew-members were hard-working, professional, and friendly. They left the yard in great shape that will allow us to plant new grass seed with minimal prep. They provided sensible recommendations, the trees look great, the driveway was much cleaner after they left than before they arrived, and to top it off they went far above and beyond expectations by volunteering to fix a broken pulley at the top of our flag pole while they were here (including a trip to Ace Hardware to get the part and refusal to even accept any additional payment). I do not recommend! Interviewed four companies to cut down about 13 large trees and decided to go with Dave's, who told me they wouldn't be able to cut them down for another couple of months. That was ok with me. Their price was competitive and John was sooo nice. They cut one tree down immediately. Several calls and many months later, they cut down about 3 or 4 more. About 8 months later, they cut down a few more. Each time they cut down a tree, I paid them immediately. In spring, a year from our initial meeting, when everything was growing and blooming in the garden, John said they could cut down the remainder of the trees. I hired someone else. read more
