My husband is born and raised in Modesto...we now live in the Bay Area. Every 4-5 weeks we make the drive out to Dave's to pick up a monthly "special box" (sometimes 2!) and usually a chicken box, for our household meat inventory . Honestly, I'm very picky about my food (not into processed food or MEAT that's ultra processed etc) and you just can't trust these big box stores anymore. For the price (including round trip fuel) and QUALITY, Dave's simply is the best. Everyone who works there is super friendly, helpful, and the place small but CLEAN! Would not recommend this place to have your beef cut and packed. Every time we open a package of meat we are unsure of the cut of meat and not sure how they could have gotten the meat thickens so messed up. Example: in the package you have 2 Top Sirloin- one is cut 1/2 inch and the other 1 1/2 ! Pretty sure we got someone else's beef and they got mine. This will be my last time going there. read more

The service was horrible. Besides it not being a busy time of the year it took 6 weeks to finally get my meat. It looked like it was cut by someone who was on their first day of work. There was also a huge difference in what the owner of the beef said it weighed and what daves said it weighed. Somewhere I got ripped off. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
