Very good place to test and hold many firearms but I would never purchase here!!!!!!! The prices on Firearms on average are $100 more than you could get through Budsgunshop.com or many other websites because they are unwilling to price match. Honestly, if you want a better price and experience, test out the guns here in your hand to determine what you want to buy. Then shop online at Budsgunshop, Slickguns.com, or Gunwatcher.com and have it shipped to Tripple T Firearms who will bring the gun to your door for a very reasonable fee (575-430-7782). It will still be exponentially Cheaper than shopping here and a better experience. Also, every accessory in the shop is priced at a minimum of $10 more than any online store. Even factoring in shipping, it will still end up being cheaper ordering from Cheaper than dirt, Amazon, or a litany of other websites that will have it shipped to your door at a much more reasonable price. Unfortunately, they manipulate the small town mentality of being the only shop in town. Please heed my advice and maybe they'll be forced to have more reasonable prices. At a minimum you'll save a buck, maybe even hundreds!! read more

Why isn't zero stars an option? Trying to sell used guns at above price, that they claim "has never been shot". Super rude and condescending. If you're a female expect to get either ignored or talked to like you can't possibly know shit about guns. Best bet is to either go to cloudcroft to the gun shop there or drive to las cruces. read more

$100 for an FFL transfer fee is so excessive it's criminal. I won't be doing any business here.

Horrible service. Been in multiple times standing there waiting to be approached. Dave himself does not know the meaning of customer service. Was very short with me and told me I didn't know what I was talking about. I think I know more about guns than he and his employees combined. I love guns and gun shops but it's never a good experience going in here. Ricochet shooting is much smaller but the customer service is amazing. Go there. I have been going here off and on for over 7 years, I finally moved to Alamogordo, two years ago. I enjoy going to Dave's, he and his staff have always been helpful. If I mention I may be interested in something he never has failed to pull it out of the back room, always surprising me. As far as prices go I have purchased a few firearms over the years and always felt I got a fair deal. He has a good selection of everything, modern firearms, Black power, and Archery equipment. When the Ammo shortage hit for the longest time you could still find what you needed at Dave's. When he started running low he always had ammo to go along with firearm purchases. He has a amazing inventory and if there is anything you want to know about firearms he's the person to talk to , you'll get a knowledgeable honest answers . I'm not very impressed with Daves. The shop has a great selection, but the prices are ridiculous. Many of the firearms, including the used ones are about $100.00 over MSRP. The FFL transfer fee is $100.00 per firearm as well. Many of the other FFL dealers in the area charge $10.00 - $25.00 per transaction, which can include several firearms. You can tell that they are trying their best to survive on the fact that they have little competition. read more

Both times I went they had what I needed in a hurry. They are a bit pricey, in my opinion too pricey to be competitive with shopping online. I asked how much for the FFL fee, the guy at the counter smirked and said $100 then lied and said, they were the only FFL in town. Right...in a town of 30K... I was given the business card (by a friend) to a local guy who charges me $10. I understand they are the only gun shop, but I would do business with them if they were more accommodating on prices. read more

I love buying guns and look all over at prices. His, as expected are marked up a lot, infact with my latest pistol it would have been over a 100 more to just buy it from there. He has a fairly good amount of products, which are of quality(unlike Big 5). Staff is not all that friendly. read more

I have done business with Dave for several years. I always feel welcome when going in and they do have a great selection of firearms. For a small town this place is fantastic! Great selection, poor customer service, wanted to purchase a three thousand dollar rifle from them, I called to verify a delivery date and was put on hold twice and told to call back later because they were too busy with customers in store. I have called Dave's Guns many times to inquire about certain firearms/calibers in stock. I have always been treated respectfully each and every time. I went in to purchase a new revolver and was impressed with the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to answer any of my questions. Dave treated me fairly on the firearm I traded in. Very fair price and very respectful. I have been to many different firearm shops throughout the country and I would rank Dave's near the top of the list. Great selection and great customer service. Prices were competitive and fair. Definitely recommend. read more
