I ordered a funeral flower stand on the internet on December 25th with the following conditions: 1) You must promise to deliver by 6pm on the 27th of December, the day of the memorial service. 2) You must call me by 10am on the 26th to confirm your promise. I wish I could give this place 10 million stars! I got married on November 6th. We weren't decorating our venue with flowers, so I just needed my bridal bouquet, the bridesmaid's bouquets and boutonnieres for the groom, groomsmen and dads. From the get-go, Vu was so incredibly helpful and accommodating. My fiancé and I went to the shop with some ideas and our color swatches and Vu made some incredibly stunning arrangements. He also suggested a flower crown for our flower girl and it was perfect! We were so happy with the flowers, we arranged all the bouquets on the sweetheart table after the ceremony to decorate that for the reception. Dave's had a bunch of flowers to chose from to make your own bouquet. Only 3 options of pre made arrangements unfortunately the florist had already left for today so I was able to work with the associate who was patient and helpful. We put something together and I was quite please. The pre made bouquet were about $80-100+ the i spent about $50. I think i'll be back for a bouquet soon. read more

Add one more disappointed customer to the growing list of people who had a 2012 Valentines Day bust thanks to Daves! The flowers did not arrive on Valentine's Day. Someone dropped them off between 10PM and 6AM. However finding them on Feb 15 is just not the same as getting them on valentines day - as far as I'm concerned if they don't arrive before dinner the florist did not keep their commitment. Even worse, from a communication standpoint they might as well call themselves Dave's Black Box. A simple email or call giving an estimated time of delivery would have made a world of difference. Sometimes there are glitches - life happens. That's when you pick up the phone. However, I heard nothing from them. They did not respond to my emails. read more

They have some of the fanciest floral designs and they are not THAT much more expensive than the AVERAGE same old flowers in a vase shops that are located everywhere.....if anything the prices are relatively the same if you ask me. I first showed up to Dave's flowers optimistic. We were greeted enthusiastically by the staff and immediately were engaged. I gave them my budget for 9 bouquets of flowers, and an Asian gentleman proceeded to make a beautiful flower arrangement. As he was not going to be there the following day, he took a picture on his phone (or the store's phone) to help show the other workers what they should look like when preparing them. We gave other specific instructions: wrapped in cellophane, to be in a bouquet and not in central vases, a specific time for pick up, and flowers can differ as long as the quality is the same. I left very happy with this initial interaction, but when I returned the following day to pick up the flowers... I was severely disappointed. The individuals who made the bouquets used cheaper flowers, used no cellophane or bows initially, and made them to be placed in central vases. Gelsen's and Trader Joe's has much nicer looking flowers for cheaper. This was COMPLETELY the opposite of what I had specifically ordered and agreed upon. After expressing my frustration with the presentation, they did wrap them in cellophane and added a small bow to each bouquet. This is what bumped them up to a two star review. We ended up leaving 45 minutes after the time the bouquets were expected to be ready and with an extremely sour taste in our mouth. In summary, disappointment was the theme associated with my business with this institution. I'd recommend going somewhere else for floral arrangements, and if you need them on time, DEFINITELY go to another place. read more

I am writing this review about the store manager/owner, Claudia, whom I contacted for help regarding suspicious packages being sent to me through her store by a stalker. The person has been sending flowers with personal letters about me and asking them to not disclose their identity, which I still don't understand how is that even legal! In the process, I was a victim of emotional harassment via unsolicited gift packages, flower bouquets and letters for months. I contacted this store and asked politely if they can provide me with the name of the sender, explaining to them my struggle for the last four months, or if I could have the police contact them to solve the case. The front desk lady, named Jennifer, asked me to hold while she asks the manager. To my SHOCK, I received a phone call from an unknown ID, the speaker said her name is Claudia and that she was the store manager, she yelled at me and asked me to stop contacting their store or else she would contact the police on the claim of harassing them with my questions about the identity of my own harasser. Let's assume that my approach was wrong in contacting the florist directly in the hopes to stop months of creepy behavior by a psychopath who was being protected by the florist, but NOTHING can justify the rude behavior of the store manager nor the harsh language she used to address the issue. She could just apologize politely and say that they were bound by certain policies to not disclose the information on this stalker. I've never seen such disrespect from a customer service, especially towards a person who has been experiencing months of emotional harassment. I am equally disheartened, frustrated and shocked that the quality of customer service has dwindled to such level in our times and that stalkers and harassers are protected by such disrespectful store managers like Claudia. I hope people think twice before making any deal with such a shady store. read more

This place was recommended to me by one of the receptionists at Kaiser Permanente after asking if I can send my mother (a nurse) some flowers for valentines because they offer a discount when delivering to Kaiser. Sounded good to me, and the fact that they were really close to the hospital made it a bonus because I assumed delivery would be fast. But nope. I was totally wrong. They didn't deliver the flowers at all and didn't even bother to call me about it. I talked to two different girls on the phone and both sounded like they wanted to hang up on me. I know it was Valentines Day and they were probably swamped, but so were other flower shops and they managed to give me better service than this place. ----- Claudia (the owner?) said they called me about the situation of not being able to find my mother. I agree, that's true. She also said that I told them that I would call them back. Also, true. And she also said that I never got back to them. Nope, not true. In my previous review I mentioned talking to two girls. The first time was to place the delivery order. Then they called me saying the information I provided was inadequate. So I told them I will call them back with the proper address. What did I do then? I called Kaiser, I didn't just call Kaiser's lobby, I called the exact unit where my mother was. I spoke to the young man and asked if my mother was there and he said, "Yes, would you like to speak to her?" And I replied with, "No, thank you. I'm trying to send her some flowers so, is it possible to have the address?" With the received EXACT address, unit, and floor, I called Dave's Flowers for the second time. Now, the girl on the phone wasn't the one who called me earlier so she was out of the loop. I informed her of the situation and said she would get on it. I can understand that some deliveries can not be made, but all I cared about was being notified. For example, I placed an online order at Scotty's Flowers in Whittier. They promptly phoned me that they can not fulfill my order because they were fully booked. That's understandable and I was thankful for the notification. I had to order some flowers for a colleague who's wife just had a baby boy this past weekend. Our dept budget was $60. My first call was to a florist our Admin referred me to. They were in Pasadena and delivery charges to LA alone was $25! Well, I then tried another florist..this time Dave's Flower located in LA. At first Alina told me they could not deliver flowers today (it was already 4pm), but then she had me on hold for a minute and came back saying she could send a plant basket out today, which will include a ballon and a blue ribbon. We had several meetings at our venue and in their store to go over what we wanted for the wedding and to make sure we had thought of every detail. I wanted lots of succulents and the colors mauve and peach, and Daven's Flowers pulled through on that.
