Since the recent increase in services, by the time you get your hair cut and the obligatory tip, you can kiss $45-50 away. After a while, after you seem to have a regular barber, shelled out some serious $$$ over time, and it seems your business is being taken for granted and/or it is apparent on several occasions that your barber is rushing you out the door, cutting two different heights around your ear's & sideburns more often than not, paying more attention to the surrounding barbers than he does to you, well, it's time to move on elsewhere. I took my boys here and got lucky Dave was available the same day, I was told he books a week out. I asked for someone that has experience with long haircuts. Dave did not disappoint! This was the worst experience we have ever had with getting my 7 year old son's hair cut! The pictures say it all. They cut and rubbed all along the back of his neck and he was covered in red rashes and scrapes!! Horrible!! I called the shop and asked to speak with the owner. I left a message and he declined to call me back or offer a refund. The barber was Jason and he was very unfriendly and not patient in helping me decide how to cut my son's hair. I took my son to get hair cut twice to 2 different barbers there. The haircuts were ok, nothing special to make me to come back. Plus the front desk lady was not friendly. Never greeted us. But when I was sitting waiting for my son I noticed she greets every person entering the shop differently, I guess depending of their age, appearance and who knows what else. Sometimes friendly, the next time was really short... The last time we came 10 min later then our appointment time was and our barber was standing by that lady waiting and before I even apologized he said: "You are late!" After that I would not want to apologize even I was really sorry for being late... That`s it! They are way too busy to appreciate your business. read more

They service is awful. It seems fine the first time and when you keep going they are rude as ever. You make an appointment and show up and they say that you didn't make one. They cancel on you after you make an appointment online so you drive all the way there with no notice that the appointment is cancelled. The least they can do is give you another barber if one suddenly becomes unavailable. Will never go back! :) Beware!! Even tipped 100 % every time but there's no customer service at all. My husband has been coming here since we moved to GA in December 2011. THe plaza looks completely dead. I MEAN DEAD!! There's nothing there. I was browsing around and the majority of the place is empty except for the dog groomer business. When you walk into this place, it's a bit overwhelming. All you see is old couches and a dated design. They do give a good haircut (if you get the right person) but I think that it is a bit pricer than it should be. Considering that we lived in Hawaii where the cost of living is outrageous, the cost of a cut here is more than where we lived. read more

Still going strong after 11 years in GA! My boys (counting the hubs) will not go anywhere but Dave's! Make sure you call ahead if you want a certain barber. They get super busy, Dave especially! The end result is pure perfection though! They have women stylists is you prefer. The atmosphere is all about the boys! The TV's set up at the stations are awesome if your little one needs something to take his/her mind off of the cut! All in all - BEST BARBER IN TOWN! read more

Lazy barbers are quick to rush you out of the door. My mother in law went to buy 2 gift certificates, $30 each, and was told she needed to come back in 2 hours for them to take 2 minutes to write one. It was Christmas Eve so she gave them the benefit of a doubt. Flash forward to me trying to use said gift certificate. I went in and was asked to hang out for 30 minutes and they'll try and help me out. After waiting for 20 minutes, the barber who was doing nothing came up and let me know that they were too booked and I should come back in 2 hours. An empty parking lot with an empty waiting room and they were too busy to do their job. Highly recommend avoiding this place. read more

In a world that's filled with Easy Cuts, Great Clips, and Super Cuts, it's nice to find a real barber shop where a man can go in, and get his hair cut. Unlike those other places, the barbers actually ask you what you want BEFORE they cut your hair, and ask you questions through out the hair cut. All for only $15. Not bad. read more

I can never go back to a cosmetologist hair stylist/studio again. Dave takes the time to learn what you want, how you want it, etc. He even took the time to make a few tips about my hair type, to help save time in between cuts (saves me money and time). A coworker suggested Dave's after hearing me complain about how I never ended up with a good haircut from the chain shops. It just never seemed to go right. After my first haircut at Dave's Barber, my wife won't let me go anywhere else. So I make the 20 miles drive once a month to visit Dave and get my ears lowered a bit. I highly recommend this barber shop. Tip: Dave's is one of a few shops in a relatively empty plaza. You could accidentally drive by if you're not paying attention. Great staff and good location . Aside from lengthy wait times I've never had a negative experience when ive made it before closing time. The problem with Dave's barbershop is they seem to always be closed! First off they are closed every Sunday and Monday. Then tuesday, wed, thursday hours are 10am-7pm and Friday close at 6!? So basically if you are employed and want to patron their business you need to take a holiday. To top it off today is Saturday and New Years Eve so i figure I'll stop by old Dave's and get lined up for a big night out and.......You guessed it. They decided to take off today as well! I'm 70 years old, and as you can expect, I've been to many stylists and barbers. When I was working I went to stylists at around $30 a pop. They did a good job. When I moved here from Seattle I tried a number of salons and barbers without finding one that understood what someone my age wanted. Then I found Dave's. Or rather Aaron, who works for Dave. I had a very good cut from Dave, who was very personable. Then I found Aaron. He is outstanding. Not only is my hair cut exactly as my wife wants (I don't count), but he remembers. What I expected in a cherokee county barbershop. Basically a Walmart crowd. I got a haircut and shave. The shave was done with a dull straight blade and I had to come home and complete the shave. The haircut is a Great Clips quality. Went here for the first time today, and it's now my go-to spot. Richard was awesome! Very friendly and gave a great haircut. I also went for the straight razor shave for the first time, but I'll probably pass on that next time. I usually give the benefit of the dought, but today was the last straw. On Tuesday, 9/10/13, I called for an appointment with Aaron. The female hair cutter, Karen, took the call and said Aaron was on vacation, that he'd be back on Friday. I said, "OK, put me down for Friday at 10:00 A.M." I arrived about 9:45 A.M. and there were already five male customers waiting for Dave's to open and most had appointments with Aaron. One of the guys waiting was a Sheriff. About 10:15, one hair cutter with long hair finally showed up - no Aaron. Everybody filed inside and took a seat. At one point there were nine customers sitting around, one hair cutter. 10:30 A.M. still no other hair cutter showed up. People started leaving like the place was on fire. The long haired hair cutter was answering the phone, each time interrupting his hair cut. 11:00 A.M., still only one hair cutter and only four customers hanging around. Finally at 11:05 it's my turn in the chair. Phone rang twice but I had already waited so long I could now take it, because I was in the chair. About 11:15 A.M., Dave, the owner shows up. This is not the first time this has happened to me at Dave's, but it will certainly be the last. Lots of luck Dave. read more
