Oh, where to start?
Dave has been our agent for years. We bought our first home with him 6 years ago, sold said home 1 year ago, and just used him to buy our second home. Prior to buying our first home, Dave was our landlord and awesome at that, too!
Dave Philipp is one of those agents in Sacramento that other real estate agents like. By "like", I mean enjoy. Like, legitimately like. For example - at every open house this most recent round of house buying, if we said that we were working with Dave, the listing agent would say "Oh, Dave's great!" But not in the way where they were just saying that to be nice or make small talk. The tone of their voice would change and you knew they really MEANT it.
What does a "great" agent like Dave mean? Professional. Honest. Fights for you (but fights fair). Uses his EXTENSIVE network and history with other agents to advocate for you. He knows almost everyone and they know him and like him and trust me, it's a lot easier to close on a house when other agents really like working with your agent.
So, I could bore you with stories of how Dave helped us get our first house before it went on the market, or helped us get our dream price for our own house when it was time to sell, but I won't. Instead, consider the value of this: I consider Dave a true friend, I would wine and dine with him any day, and I would invite him to my funeral (I'm already married, so it can't be my wedding. Unless I get married again. Yeesh). How many people can say that about their agent? (And if you don't become Dave's best friend when he's your agent, don't worry about it. He'll still help you sell or buy your dream house with all the professionalism and integrity that he does for everyone.) read more
