Tickets- they can be bought right online. We always go for the scenic lake tour. Seats- They start boarding about 15-20 minutes before they leave. Get there early!!!!! You can get the seat of your choice that way. There is seating on the ground level (mostly tables) or if you go up top there are a lot of chairs all around. What to wear- sunscreen!! You do sit directly in the sun if you sit up top. You may want to bring a light jacket because it can be breezy, but I was fine without one. Be careful of any hats you wear since it is breezy! The ride- the captain is so great about giving facts about the lake and houses on the lake. It is the perfect amount of talking. They also play light "yacht rock" music in the background. They don't go too fast and it is SUCH an enjoyable ride. There is a bathroom on board and you can purchase drinks (a full bar) and snacks. The crew was very nice and helpful when we had questions. They made sure the ride was exactly 90 minutes and even took us into a cool cove they don't normally go into when it was looking like we were going to arrive back early. I have never done the dinner cruise. It's the same ride but for $23 more it's a buffet style dinner from the Appleseed restaurant. The only con of that is there is no outdoor seating on that boat.

There were crackers and dip waiting at our table for us.. For dinner, the salad, Mac and cheese, bread, potatoes, and lasagna were all great. We didn't try the pulled pork or beans. The carved roast beef was Ok (kind of fatty). Cake choices were excellent and very delicious. Staff was good. The captain shared interesting facts along the way (Steven Tyler's house). It was smooth sailing. Sadly too cloudy for a sunset viewing. Background music was much to our liking. People along the lake were out on their decks waving to us as we passed and the Captain blew his whistle. Once it was dark and dinner was over, we were ready to get off, but we had another 30 minutes to the ride. And not much to look at outside.

Calling ahead, they answered both phone calls immediately and were cool and efficient in their response- young guy (maybe early 20's?)- nice guy/kid. When we got there, it was a simple and painless process. Get your vest, choose some paddles (both in great, solid quality) and get on our kayak, which the employee had in the water, waiting. He gave us the basics and off we went. On our return paddle in, he saw us coming in and came up to the docking area and helped us both off. On our way up the little walk I turned back to see the view of the water when not even 2 minutes passed by and the employee had already lifted the kayak and started washing it off and cleaning it. It shows that this guy and the company care about quality and presentation as well as customer feeling and well being. Kudos to them. Loved the experience. Take a chance folks, you won't be dissappointed.

High County Marine definitely has the best prices, from my experience. The reservation system is pretty straight forward, although make sure if you're renting more than one of the same type of equipment, each item should have a different number (kayak 1, kayak 2, etc). Also, you should make sure you bring anyone using the equipment up to sign a waiver and get fitted for life jackets. And the people there are really great. You can tell that they enjoy their jobs. And they are really understanding when you want to make changes and they explain things thoroughly, especially the woman who seems to run the show (probably because people don't listen well or don't take care of the equipment). If you want solid equipment, at a fair price, with easy access to the reservoir, definitely go with High Country Marine.

They don't cite a cancellation policy online. Anyways, the entire interaction was incredibly rude and they were very condescending and acted like they couldn't believe we could've gotten the time wrong. Innocent mistake, not very kind or understanding company.

Leading to the trip Kevin was very responsive with communications, as we watched the forecast he was on top of it, flexible and moved our date/time which saved the excursion. Captain Kevin is knowledgeable of the lake and known how to throw a party for adults but he also proved to be a baby whispered (saved a meltdown). The boat itself is everything you could ask for spacious, the most comfortable boat seats I've ever sat on, top deck, a slide, and clean large bathroom! I can't recommend him enough, affordable and absolute blast for all families, we will for sure be booking again!

Perfect for my elderly family members birthday. Imagine my surprise when a large group of intoxicated people showed up and ruined the entire experience for everyone on board. They continued to drink throughout the tour making it even more intolerable. At one point two of the drunk men stumbled over to where I was sitting for a "better view." They got so close that I was pinned against the boat and one of their friends had to intervene. The captain however, did not intervene. I observed him being tipped by this group which gave him incentive to turn a blind eye to their behavior. I wanted to address all of this at the time but did not want to make a scene in front of my family. Furthermore, I would've had to complain to the captain right in front of the drunk people which would leave me open to retaliation. I did reach out to the company the next day via email and outlined everything that took place. I received an email back a few days later from the captain denying that anything happened. No apology, no compensation of any kind. He had total disregard for the safety of everyone else on board who had their experience ruined. One last note to put things in perspective. I work at a night club. I deal with intoxicated people all the time and have a high tolerance. This behavior was unacceptable and unreasonable, especially since all of their advertising leads you to believe this will be a peaceful experience.
