I dropped off a king sized duvet for dry cleaning on October 4, 2022. I asked the lady behind the counter how long the process would be, and she told me she would call me when it's done in about 2-3 days.
I gave them 7 days (there was a weekend in between) and then called wondering if my duvet was ready. She advised me that it was, so I came by to pick it up before work on October 12.
When I came in, the lady pointed to a small mattress cover hanging and told me that was my duvet, it just lost the tag. I advised her that the two pieces of fabric were vastly different in size and this one is definitely not my duvet. She verified with the cleaner she sent the duvet to (after multiple phone call attempts) that the duvet was actually still there and the mattress cover was indeed not mine. My duvet would take another day and she could not give me a window of time to expect a call. I left the location and was late for work.
I didn't receive a call the next day so at around 2 or so I called. She told me my duvet was here and it was big and puffy so it must be the right one. At this point I've received no apology for wasting my time or for the lack of communication or
for it taking 3x as long as she told me it would take. I figured it would be suitable to ask for a discount considering my trouble.
I arrived with plenty of time before work and suggested to her that $38.50 was unfair, I offered $20 with the intentions of negotiating a fair discount up to say, $30. She immediately deflected the trouble to outside of her control and when I advised her that she wasted my time and gas having me come in the day before due to her missing tags, she threatened to call the police if I did not leave. I gave her $40 and left not wanting to deal with her any further.
So to recap, the duvet was extremely late, I never once received calls from them even after the duvet was there despite her advising me she would call when it was ready, and she refused to even apologize let alone offer a discount. I would go literally anywhere else. I would give zero stars if it were possible. read more
