I have submitted a much lengthier complaint to the Better Business Bureau, which you should be able to view in a few days for all the details, but it really boils down to this:
I signed a contract for $5000 (yep, more than double what others are stating) on 11/12/13. Between 11/12/13 and 5/10/14, I had 1 great intro (who was not local), 2 okay intros, 3 mediocre intros, and 1 truly awful into. In other words: not much more impressive than online dating (of which I have done a LOT), and a whole lot more expensive. On 6/10/14, I was asked if I wanted to put my account on hold because I was "busy" (never mind that I had been on 2 dates in the previous month and accepted every introduction to date with only 1 instance of asking to delay things due to international travel), and on 6/23/14 (after puzzling over why they would ask me this), said I don't want to be on hold, my schedule has opened up, more intros, please. I heard absolutely nothing from them until 10/8/14 - by which time I had found my own relationship on a FREE online dating site - and when I confronted them about their poor service, they told me that it was MY fault because I failed to return calls, emails, etc. On extensive review of my phone, text, email, and voicemail records, I can find 21 instances of communication which required my response, and of these, 18 received a response in a matter of hours (if not minutes). Of the three that I did not respond to that quickly, 1 was responded to in 36 hours during a busy work week (for which I was contacted when I hadn't responded in 24 - my asking for them to please not do that, if I don't respond there is a reason, was apparently why the staff was "afraid" to contact me after that), 1 was due to international travel without internet access, and the third was the aforementioned June email. They claim that they texted me "one time" in July about a match but never again because they were "afraid" it would make me angry - this is despite my statement from the start that email - not text - was the best way to contact me, and the fact that I made a point to only ever respond by email/phone and not text because text is not reliable at my workplace - I get them eventually, but they can be hours in arriving. A final phone confrontation with one of the co-owners on 11/12/14 resulted in near-hysteric yelling from her because I "called them liars" (well, I never received a text in July, sooo....), and a refusal to provide a refund because "they just don't do that in this industry". I was offered a special new contract that would provide me with matchmaking services for a certain amount of time should I ever be single again. I agreed to this arrangement, stating that she could email it to me and I would sign it using an app on my phone. As of today (12/15/14), I have seen no such contract. Again, way, way more details will be available on the BBB site eventually.
I have personal knowledge and confirmation that there are those who HAVE had success with this company, resulting in marriage. This review is not to say that they are incapable of doing their job correctly. However, it does seem that if you do not follow their rules exactly, or respond in just the way they want you to, or happen to be someone like me, whom they willingly admit is a difficult person to match (but still enthusiastically sold themselves to me as "we can totally find you someone!" - before taking my money), they may not be the best match for you (pun intended), and they may not handle any conflict resulting from this poor match well. On review of the two currently available BBB complaints (and one "not recommended" review here, which I would actually strongly recommend over the 2 5-star recommended reviews...), it seems they are similar to mine: poor communication, poor matching if you have standards which you know limit the dating pool (which is why I came to professionals to begin with, so it would be someone else's job to find the small number of eligible bachelors for me!), and if you complain, blame the client for not playing by the rules, being difficult, or not being open enough to the dating experience (namely, needing their coaching, another of their sales pitches). I suspect there would be more complaints if they did not work so hard to make the client feel that any failure in successful delivery of their services was in fact the fault of the client.
I would strongly suggest that the buyer be very, very aware before spending any of your hard-earned money with this business. read more
