I had just upgraded to a new computer. I had put all of our family pictures going back to the birth…read moreof my daughter in 2002 on an external hardrive and had not copied them onto the new computer yet. I had 500GB of pictures and other files and limited back-ups. I sent my drive to ReStoring Data in the hopes that they could recover some of what was lost. In about a week I had a new external drive with ALL (repeat ALL) my pictures and files recovered. A little pricey, but well worth the cost.

Once that contract is signed, if anything unexpected comes along, it's considered an extra and will cost you money. My entire experience with Rescue Data was just one extra fee after another. In addition to that, they are not very good. They do not do the work in house. They send the hard drive to China, and a Chinese firm does the recovery. Rescue Data are just middlemen. When the work was completed, they sent me a screen shot of the "recovered" data folders. It looked good, all my subfolders were there. But it was only a screen shot, so I couldn't open the folders to inspect the files. It was only after I paid and was able to actually open the files that I noticed about 1/3 of the folders were empty! They didn't actually recover the contents, just the folder names, and made sure I couldn't detect that until after I had paid $1000 in fees. For what it's worth, the customer service was fine. Staff were polite and easy to get a hold of, but it just doesn't compensate for paying for something I didn't get.

They were very patient with my payment as I did not have the funds available. Three years later and finally paid off , not once did I recieved a stressful phone call to pay up. If your looking for quality care and a personable experience look no further. Ken and staff are always pleasant and just make you feel like you are the only customer in the world.

They are located next door to the Grandin Bakery in the same strip mall as Famoso and Reitman's. The store was clean, well organized, and even had candies for kiddos. The sales lady was friendly and knowledgeable. The quote for our iPhone 5c screen was $140 (in the ballpark of other places we found online). We ended up holding out for a Black Friday sale but I would definitely return here again! Hopefully for preventable reasons like a screen protector ;-)
