The dispatcher(s) are pretty busy, so when you call, don't expect to speak to a person immediately. You'll be put on hold. They have a lot of cabs around with a minimum fare of $8, even if you're only going five blocks. Most, if not all, of the drivers are Dominican and don't speak English at all, so there may be a language barrier if you're not bilingual. But they do know very well how to tell you the fare amount. This is probably due to a large influx of Dominican immigrants in the Bronx. The cars vary from old to late models, but I've noticed a majority of them have invested in Toyota Camrys. The fares seems to be consistent, but I did experience one early morning while rushing to the airport, when I asked the driver how much to LaGuardia Airport, he told me $60, when it's actually $50. He probably saw I was in a rush and tried to capitalize on it, but that's no excuse to try and beat someone. So I just told him to take me to 125th Street to catch the M60-SBS. LOL (his loss) All in all, they are usually on time; hardly ever gives more than a 3-4 minute wait. So when they say 2 minutes, you better be at the curb in 1.5 mins or they'll leave. read more

on July 22, 2026, a DAT cab picked me up and my dying dog and in stead of taking me to my vet in Manhattan, they took me somewhere in the Bronx. when I asked why he stopped, the driver told me this was the drop off address. I called the dispatcher who told me it was my problem and I had to solve it by finding my own way to my destination. he blamed me for getting into the wrong cab and hung up on me several times. I asked to speak to a supervisor, he told me no several times. both driver and dispatcher were yelling at me about finding my own way to my destination. they kept accuse me of being the one to get into the wrong cab but the cab matched the description and picked me up in front of my door. the driver parked for 20 minutes arguing with me and agreeing with the dispatcher about my culpability. I convinced him to take me back home so I can call another cab service. I cried while in the back seat watching as my dog was having convulsions. I missed my vet appointment. I wasted over an hour with these inhumane gentlemen who never offered another cab or to take me to the correct address. it was the most traumatic experience I've ever had with a car service. read more

The dispatcher on call (9/21/22) is the most rudest I have ever encountered. I had to call twice to get a cab at the address I needed to be picked up from and both times, the cab drivers were given the wrong address. Also, he doesn't let you finish explaining what is happening. I wanted to spend my money to support my community and all I received was absolute nastiness. In the end, I had to get an Uber. Call dispatcher 8pm Sunday night to see if I can book an 8am ride to get my dog to the aspca for a life saving surgery, he said it would be no problem, to book using the app and I would get a call when the driver was 5-10 minutes away. So I did This morning I called at 8:05 asking if the driver was enroute they said the reservation had be cancelled that I can't use the app to book a trip from the Bronx to manhatten. That they wouldn't honor the price given by the app that it would be $8 dollars more. I said that's fine. I was placed on hold for 15 minutes and he returned to let me know that no one would be coming. Very unprofessional, very discourteous and very rude. And if it turns out my dog cannot be seen because they decided to cancel my reservation without notice because the app charged me $8 dollars less than they would have liked. I will be filing a civil suit for the loss of my dog. read more

This is the most unreliable and disrespectful taxi servixe I have ever experienced. I called this company this morning at 7:23 am and and was given an ETA of 3 mins I left my house to meet the cab and waited to wait in the cold. The cab didn't arrive until 7:50 am. I received calls from the cab twice while waiting to say he was one minute away. I called the base and they gave me an ETA of 40 secs. When I called the company to complain, the dispatcher was very rude I asked for the Manager and he said he didnt get in until 12:PM and I was hung up on. I've been using DAT from the time they opened up for business. I've had good, great, excellence and shitty service experiences over the years but in comparison to those within the area, their not to bad. They have upgraded to a Mobile App that sometimes gets it wrong but mostly its far more reliable than calling the base. I take them all the time when I need a ride throughout the Bronx. Their service, drivers and cars have improved but there is so many choices out there, if you have a problem with them at all, let them know. They can't afford to lose business with Lyft, Uber and other cab companies stepping up, especially their mobile access, DAT has to comply or like other former cab/transport companies, die off. read more

Tried getting a cab a few times especially in the morning. Not sure why they have an app and are even a cab service when there is no cabs available. I would think early in the morning they would have cabs on deck especially because the morning is a high demand. Not really sure this is business. A driver would not let me in the cab unless I agreed to a price that I normally pay anyway. He literally locked the door and asked me if I have $12. I told him that he's not supposed to ask me that and I asked him if he's going to let me in and he said that he'll let me in when I tell him that I have $12 and bc I didn't tell him how much money I had, he left. When I get home, I will add the drivers "car number" and license plate number. read more

I call Dat every morning at the same time and there's always a issue. First they need to update there app the car could be sitting outside and It would still say 5 min away. There's times I'm waiting outside for a car they said showed up and left. Clearly insulting my intelligence when I my self know no cars stopped at my location. I just leave my phone in a cab and I used a friend phone to call the dispatcher 3 minutes after the car drove off. The dispatcher told me I had to pay the driver of the cab $8 for him to return my phone. I have used this car service many times. Needless to say, I WILL NOT USE THIS CAR SERVICE AGAIN. read more

They have no regular check in because they treat regular customers like sh*t! they have a caller Id. which allows dispatch to screen calls and a text informing you that your driver has arrived. They stopped that after abt the third trip which lead to confusion but one driver did call me and cursed because I'd gotten my own cab before dispatch could take me off of hold. DAT car service I have been using there service all my life, but within these pass few years they have been slacking. Every time I call they never have anyone available but 30 minutes later they have someone. Today was the worst after I was told they were going to be there in 5 minutes, no one came and I had to call again. However, they dispatcher was rude and told me that they didn't have anyone, I had waited 30 minutes and already late for work.
