I was walking on Lexington Avenue when I noticed the DAS'IT Barbershop just off East 62nd Street. I looked at their posted prices, that seemed reasonable and since I was in desperate need for a beard trim and haircut, I decided to ( at least) talk to the barber. Dil, which is short for a very long name that I couldn't pronounce or spell, explained to me how passionate she was about her job and his her only goal was to make every customer very happy. Since I had just had a birthday and was feeling old and down, I decided to put my face snd head into Dil's expert hands and when I got out of her barbershop chair about thirty minutes later, I felt and looked terrific! Dil reshaped my beard and revitalized my soul! I'm serious! I walked out rejuvenated and looking and feeling great! My advice is you should plan a visit and treat yourself to a fantastic haircut!

Great haircut and barbers! Highly recommend if you're on the upper east side. Thank you Das it barbershop!

Great shave and haircut. This is frank, frank is a legend. Definitely recommend his services with gentle hands.

Ive been going to this place since they first opened. Shawn does my haircuts. This week I went to Frank for a shave and he did an excellent job, was gentle and not only was it relaxing but the outcome was great. Definitely recommend them.

Best haircut in the city at Dasit Barbershop! I still commute.fron NJ to see Frank. Always a great experience and even better haircut. Thanks again Frank!

While he was nervous and on edge when we arrived, the Frank and the guys in the shop were as chill and expert as advertised.

He had dinner reservations. He told me he could do a clean up, once he did the cleanup and it was not clean at all I had him make two more alterations. All in all it looks fine, the 1 star is because he charged me for a Premier cut which is supposed to take 45 minutes and include a wash; he took about 25 minutes. And I had to drag him to get what I needed; paid $77 for a very unpleasant experience. Go somewhere else for your haircut in midtown.

Ugh. Maybe she's good at hair cuts or the other guys are good with beards, but she barely speaks English and made my crane my head backwards the entire time, which literally no other barber in my life has done....what in the actual? Complete disaster. Luckily it'll grow back but that's $60 down the drain. (Yes I did tip because even people who suck at their job need to eat)

Then I resorted to yelp search for the best men's haircut salon in the area. Tina's salon came up as the top-rated and reviewed option. I took a chance and booked an appointment. I'm glad I booked an appointment and visited Tina Nikolle's Salon. Tina was phenomenal. She gave me an awesome haircut and also trimmed my beard so that I can attend the wedding reception with the best looks! She is very good at what she does and more importantly extremely nice and kind person. Once you interact with her you know how much she loves her job and cares for her customers. One tip to add: If you are visiting for the first time, you may have trouble locating the salon. It's right next to De Janeiro. You have to find a small door on the right side (facing De Janeiro) and then take the elevator to 17th Floor. Tina's Salon is in Suite 1702.

Made an account just for this. Reviews made me excited to try this place after failing to find…read morestylists in my area for men's wavy long hair (Shoulder to mid back long.) But most of those glowing reviews are pre-covid. I don't know if a lot of their stylists left but there's a notable lack of reviews post-covid. They're kind and the space feels lux and quiet. Problem is communication, went multiple times feeling very whelmed and changed stylist every time. After my third time I think I'm done, I've shown pictures and discussed with them what I wanted but they can never seem to get it right. Instead they default to a generic taper short off the sides and medium top cut, but then why tell me you can do the cut or even have experience with it? Is it my head shape? Face? Am I too ugly? Communicate that to me before you decide to just ignore the conversation we had and just free style. It's frustrating because I am growing out my hair for this cut and they do what they want. I don't want to be rude and stop you mid cut but then why am I paying so much just to be left unsatisfied? Most of the men leaving the place have the same exact cut. Anything longer than a short to medium cut is a no go, those cuts look clean and nice. Kept going in with shoulder length wavy hair just to get butchered every time.

I did call in advance to make sure he had time, he asked if I could stop by in 30 minutes, which was no problem. I was able to walk right in and get my shave and haircut.

One jackass who charges $100 for a haircut talked about how a real barber (such as himself of course) only does 4 haircuts an hour. Really 4 haircuts an hour? That's 15 minutes each, which after getting in and out of the chair and prepping and combing equals about 10 minutes. You might as well go to supercuts to get that sort of crap haircut. Which brings me to Jerry's! If you are in the city and want to spend 1/3 of what some hipster doofus barber will charge you then check out Jerry's! I used to go to Jerry's consistently when I first started working in midtown but started going to a place in jersey near where I lived at the time, though I still pop over once in a while. If you are in midtown and want a good haircut, this is the place (great if you work in midtown and the boss is giving you crap about your shaggy hair). Mostly older barbers who can do a variety of styles (though I doubt they do shaggy hipster/bieber cuts). They give a very thorough, careful haircut. Usually lasts at least 25 minutes, since they actually take their time and go over it more than once to make sure it is perfect. It is pricey around $30ish I believe, but hey, its in midtown. And of course they use a straight razor, and less importantly but still really cool, they have an ancient hand cranked hot towel machine! P.S. Its very difficult to find (buried in the basement) so ask for directions at one of the rock center info desks located at each entrance.
