I was in the area this morning for a doctors appt., and saw this old cabin sitting in the woods in…read morethe valley. I walked over to it from the medical building next door. I found a cabin with a grave stone in the front yard, and a hiking trail through the woods. The trail was nice, and I walked for a little ways, but didn't have enough time to follow it all the way (Also, it is deer hunting season, and although there is a mailbox that says orange vests are available to wear, it was empty). I would like to come back again some time, and see the whole trail. There weren't really any signs that explained the history of the cabin, nor a trail map, which I would have liked, but otherwise, it's a nice little place to get out into some nature . . . Cheers!

The Sewickley Bridge is further downstream and the other photos that have been posted are correct. The Sewickley Bridge is hit-or-miss . . . it's either gonna be all backed up with traffic . . . or it is gonna be empty. Most of the time, it's loaded with cars, otherwise, it serves its purpose, which is crossing the river from one side to the other . . . Cheers!

I call this the "detour" bridge. The I 79 bridge over Neville Island is currently under…read moreconstruction and there are times when that bridge is closed completely. I happened to hit it at one of those times. What would normally be a 1 minute crossing turned out to be a 45 minute detour! The Sewickley bridge connects the road to the Sewickley business district on one side and Coraopolis on the other. As others have said it can be hit or miss with this bridge because of the traffic lights at each end and the turning lanes onto it. It crosses the Ohio River and makes it a bit easier to get to Moon Twp and to the Sewickley business district from there. Other than that please be aware of the fact that this is the Penn dot chosen detour for the I 79 bridge.

The guest rooms were very clean beautifully appointed with period furniture and a super comfy bed. Breakfast was a multicourse daily feast prepared by Dennis (best eggs!) and Rosemary from locally sourced foods and fresh from the oven muffins baked daily by Rosemary. Dennis and Rosemary join us daily for breakfast where we had lively conversation on an arrange of topics, best being Dennis's extensive knowledge of historic Ambridge and the Harmony Society. The best part of our stay was meeting Dennis and Rosemary. They have created an environment that made us feel as if we were staying with family. There is a free parking lot in the back with about 10-15 spots. Also a curb side book drop. Beware though, as of July 2023, the library is under construction for renovations and there is NO air conditioning. So it's hot inside! They have a new quiet reading room that has a beautiful view of the campus, and it's a 24/7 area that patrons can go to study or read. The staff are very friendly and will bend over backward to fully answer your questions and help you find what you are looking for. There's a popular reading section, current newspapers, and access to important databases. One new feature is a place to charge your phone.

There are a lot of tables around the library if you want to read and work on your laptop here. Free WiFi is also available. There is a parking lot in the back with about 5 or 6 spots and also street parking around the neighborhood if the lot is full. So cozy and quiet. Highly recommend visiting!
