What I wanted to give the biggest shout out to is the staff. Particularly the staff member in the front office she was very kind and welcoming. Also the gentleman mowing the grass I believe he said his name was Griffin. My son approached him and he shut off the mower and answered every question that was asked. He was so polite and kind to my son it made his day. I definitely want to come back especially if Griffin is there, he really went out of his way to be nice and kind to my son even though that he was busy. Very good guest service.

If you show up after 2:00 there's no ranger so it is very confusing to figure out the pick a campground situation. No reliable cell service The directions take you to somebody's property you need to keep driving the campground is not on the left if you're leaving from Chelan or the major freeway it is on your right on the water side. Luckily I have at least two brain cells so looking at the map and the directions I can figure it out. However Google was like take a left here. And the left here was somebody's house where it said this is not an Airbnb. Basic campground nothing fancy. Not sure I would go back. I was only there cuz I was staying one evening car camping waiting to take the ferry to stehekin.

Plenty of places to take in the vistas and escape the bustle of city life. In the two days I was birding the forest trails in this forest I never ran into two people, on a popular hiking trail. Check the weather reports as freeze-out ridge gets very cold in fall, go figure, you could easily get stranded by a snow storm, and no one would find you. This is one of the only areas where the boreal forest extends down into WA from Canada so the wildlife, trees and feel of the place is very different then you might be used to. It is a great spot to tick off the Boreal birds in Washington state. There was a huge fire around here in the summer of 2006 and I haven't been back since so I don't know how bad the damage was.

Everybody was very nice and helpful. Also as a solo woman I've had lots of bike shops treat me like an idiot/make me feel like I don't belong, and they made me feel super welcome, gave great ride recs, and even gave me tips for things to try with my personal bike back home. Seriously a highlight of my quick trip! Oh and the bike was awesome, and 80$ for full suspension for a day is even cheaper than the shops back home in OR.

I'm surprised I don't have more photos from Bear Creek because I've played here at least once every…read moreyear for the last Five or six. This is golf in the Methow and it's a local treasure. It seems to improve a little bit every year and it's always friendly and accessible. We played this time on a Friday afternoon, before a scramble scheduled for 4 pm, and pretty much had the course to ourselves. It's challenging but fun, with lots of elevation changes, hidden targets, and pretty views.

I understand grass is tough to maintain in that climate, but the practice area should reflect that of the price you are paying.

The food is Amazing with the addition of the outside smoker for fresh brisket and ribs. The lodge is top notch with an excellent putting green just outside the rooms. Staff is friendly and very helpful with all matters. Cannot wait to visit again!!!
