Darwin Brasserie is on the 36th floor of the Sky Garden experience. If you have reservations for Darwin Brasserie, it will also grant you tickets to access the Sky Garden, and you will even get to skip the line to get through the bag inspection and metal detector. I hear the seats along the edge costs £10 extra per person. I don't personally think it's worth it. I was happy with the views from our seats. This restaurant is definitely more for the ambiance or experience than it is about the food. My boyfriend had the Caesar Salad (£18.50) with an added Boiled Egg (£3) and I had the Potato Gnocchi (£22.50). The Caesar salad came with the lettuce in all sorts of shapes, not very bit size. Seems like it would have been messy to eat for a date night. My gnocchi was okay but it didn't have the ridges that would help carry the sauce better. The best thing about the gnocchi was the candied walnuts. Honestly the menu wasn't too exciting to me and I just got something to get something since we were there. I wouldn't go out of my way to endorse this place. You can try to get entrance to the Sky Garden if you scope out their website 3 weeks out.

I'm all for views--get me on a rooftop, up in the sky, by the water, I don't care I love a nice view. So, I was curious about Sky Garden and wanted to visit. Our group also chose to dine here at Darwin Brasserie for dinner. Reservations are a must and can book up quickly. Be sure to read the fine print on their website! A deposit is required and it is nonrefundable. Also, if you choose to cancel or are a no-show you're charged per person. We came for our dinner reservations and were seated right by the window, overlooking the Thames and the London skyline. The views were immaculate! It's sleek, hip, and a true garden oasis. Service was great--everyone who helped us was nice, friendly, and courteous. They provided a complimentary dessert which was appreciated. For dinner, you're required to spend a certain amount per person. Our group got Caramelised Red Onion Tart Tatin, Sea Bream, and Grilled Hampshire Pork Chop. We also got Buttered Spinach and Fine Beans with Shallot Vinaigrette. The sea bream was mild, rich, and slightly firm. The veggies that came with it were fine but needed more seasoning. I wasn't impressed by the taste but it was still fine. The sides we got, I felt like were swimming in sauce and butter. Very heavy but decent. Everyone else thought their items were good but could've been executed better. Darwin Brasserie is located in the Sky Garden. It is one of those places you pay a lot for because of the view. The food isn't the best and doesn't match the price point but the view is nice and the staff are as well.

We came here for the view and brunch. When we made our reservations online we paid £15 each for a table at the window. Our reservations were for 12:00 but we arrived early and they were able to get us in at 11:00am. The servers were polite friendly and attentive. The food was excellent but too much for us to eat. It was a three course brunch.

Selectiveness is a peace of mind. We wanted to close out our first night in London with the spectacular views from the Sky Garden and made dinner reservations for the family here. We got here early to enjoy the Sky Garden and capture a few snapshot views of the iconic spots in London before dining. But that does require reservations despite it being free. Darwin requires a deposit to secure your seat and it is applied to the bill. Service is good minus the notes below. The manager was very polite in making accommodations and paying attention for certain food allergies at our table. It is hard to enjoy the ambience despite the magnificent views and lovely surrounding of the Sky Garden. Very crowded and noisy so prepare to shout at your dinner party. It is not intimate unless you want to be in someone's ear all night to converse. We ordered several cocktails and a bottle of wine. We had ordered steak and no where in my experience does medium rare come out bloody and rare. My sister's steak was ordered medium and it came out as bloody as mine. We sent entrees back twice and still received the most undercooked steaks. Our waiter explained that ordering rare would get it them more cook. How does that make sense? Rather than apologize and acknowledge his mistake, he made us feel like we didn't know the standards of how to cook or ask for a steak cooking temp despite confirming with him at time of order. Ironically, he reversed his statement at the end of the meal but offered no apology. That blatant disrespect and lack of accountability turned me off. I may not be a chef but my stomach and tastes know how to cook a steak. I'll run in a different direction than to here.

Szabi... Szabi... Szabi!!!!! Request him as a waiter. He genuinely cares about your experience. The only reason this review is a 4 is because of him. We started with the pumpkin soup. Had to send it back because it was cold. When we got the hot soup, it was delicious. The croutons and the pumpkin seeds hightened the mouth feel... I could use a little more of that crunch. Ordered our meal, fries were cold. We sent them back as well and got fresh ones. For the prices you pay to enjoy the ambience and setting the food was a little lacking in temperature. I had the beet salad, it was beautiful presented. Feta was delicious. Beets were cooked perfectly but it needed some form of acid or honey. You could definitely taste the beetroot, which was nice if you're looking for something earthy but if you want more of a tang... I would not suggest it. The sea bream was spectacular... bursting with flavor.... my mom enjoyed every bite. Szabi... seriously. The most attentive waiter in London. He gave perfect wine suggestions, constantly checked on us and our meal. The views were spectacular, but his service was out of this world. Thank you Szabi!!!!!

We had a reservation for our anniversary breakfast and came on time but the guy that walked in before us was accommodated first. We ordered and shared an omelette and full english breakfast set that came with bread, pastries and tea. Our server repeatedly avoided my calls to take a photo of us which was rude. There was really nothing special with their food considering it was a bit pricey. The only nice thing about this place was the view.

Wow, just wow!, what a place, what a staff, what great food and views of London! You must visit while in London, but get reservations several weeks in advance and pay the extra for a window!

Here we are back here in the sky at this beautiful restaurant with exquisite foods. The menu is really wide open for a mini and varied pallet that would arrive from different destinations around the world. I highly recommend this as a destination because not only do you go to the top of one of the tallest buildings in all of London, but the view is a skyline view of the entire city because it's a glass dome over the restaurant which overlooks the city and sunset and nighttime are the two favorite times. As I was looking out, I was also Marveling once again at the wonderful rooftop garden that they have that you can wander around and there's places to sit and just enjoy the view and have a moment of quiet time. This is probably one of the most breathtaking sites that you will see in London. The food exquisite, the views exquisite the quality of time spent irreplaceable. This is a total musty when you visit the city.

This is a great way to see the gardens and have good food. It's pricey but we only booked last minute. Booking last minute for us a view and a quick peek at the garden. Check website details because the garden was closed today for cleaning. The manager was so nice and let us go out on the viewing terrace to get some great videos and photos. Water was not free but for $1.5 you get free refills. I was wondering why some people declined the water service. Bread is also sold but it was delicious. My watercress and pea soup was pretty amazing. The bowls was a nice portion. Lunch was a nice chicken Caesar salad. I love the fresh boiled egg that was added. The chicken was super tender. Staff was attentive. Tips are automatically added to your bill.

Nice experience, good food, and the most convenient way to get access to Sky Garden. The servers were all friendly and professional, space is average size, somewhat tight when all the tables and booths are full - and you want to prioritize getting a table right next to a window or else you'll have multiple people in you line of sight of the view while you eat. Went for breakfast and the pancakes, omelette, and eggs benedict were all good. I think everyone should go here at least once if you are visiting to experience the Sky Garden, since you will be able to have a designated seat plus a meal, since the general viewing area can get pretty packed.

WHEN: Thur @4pm Reservations seemed hard to make just to visit, and usually have to be made at 3 weeks in advance, but no sooner than that. However, if you make reservations at their restaurant, you're able to check out the Sky Garden. There is a $25 deposit fee, so if you don't show up, they keep it. Upon arrival, I was prompted to check in with the receptionist instead of directly to the long security. However, after that she had me skip the line, which was quite awkward cuz I'm sure people gave me weird looks. The security line was like being at the airport again: jackets off, devices, off, etc. Then you wait for the elevator to go up, which happens quick so pay attention and get in! Since I arrived half an hour early to check out the view and garden before going into the restaurant. Honestly this place feels like one of those high end tech companies where they take an office space building and plant trees and a garden in it. Have you visited Salesforce in SF? I lucked out going on the day where it mostly did not rain, and the view was lovely. Yes, you'll have to deal with other tourists who is even more eager than you to take a gillizion photos of themselves and families. If you look inside there are plenty of large couches to stretch out on, and many families take the opportunity to relax and unwind from a long day of sight seeing. I did notice that when it started to rain, the locked the balcony area and did not allow anyone to be out. The restaurant Darwin Brassier is just one level up. I was seated immediately, next to a couple where only a pillar divided us. Luckily it was just me so I chose the seat not directly next to another person. Andrea was my waiter and she was such a delight. I wasn't very hungry, and decided on something I can easily take home as leftovers: DARWIN BEEF BURGER - £23 Monterey Jack cheese, beef tomato, iceberg lettuce, Darwin burger sauce, French fries. It's a decent burger and the fries were good. I think I chose this cuz it was the cheapest and easy to take home. I really enjoyed the dipping sauce it came in. When they helped me pack my leftovers to go, I had to sign a waiver form "removal of food" so that the restaurant is no longer responsible for any possible food contamination. Never done that before, haha! Would I do this again? Nope. But it was convenient for not being able to make reservations in time, and being able to relax with the view, without dealing with any loud noises from other tourists, and fighting just to find a seat. I think that part is worth it.

I could not get admission tickets to the Sky Garden on a short notice so opted for the opportunity to combine the visit to the observation deck with the lunch at Brasserie Darwin (you get to skip the line and enjoy the Sky Deck when you dine at one of the places upstairs). The view was phenomenal, as you'd expect. The service was friendly overall. The food was the letdown, unfortunately, compared to the price tag. We opted for a preset festive brunch menu, and - as it happens - sent most plates back to the kitchen with most food still on it. For example, my poached egg was closer to hard-boiled than poached, the roast chicken was quite a bit heavier than expected with the sauce. That said, the desserts were enjoyable, especially the mulled wine panna cotta. Overall, come here for the drinks and the view for sure. I would opt for another location for food.

Went on a busy Saturday evening and it was great to have access to Sky Garden via our dinner reservation. The food though was only okay - we had the Darwin Beef Burger (a little dry), Dry-Aged Rib Eye (was originally undercooked but they quickly rectified it) and Smoked Haddock & Salmon Fishcake (not bad).

They are located just outside downtown London and near the financial district. After a long underground ride, we arrived at a classic looking British pub. We were seated downstairs in a very busy dining hall that looked like a proper hunting lodge kitchen. For Christmas eve, the place was packed with large groups celebrating the holidays. We ordered the sea snails with garlic / butter and sourdough, and deer tartar with game chips, mustard, bone marrow and toast. These were good and had a very rustic flare. For dinner, I ordered the red legged partridge, spelt, njuda and kale. The partridge was tough and not much flavor. The spelt and njuda was fantastic and a real flavor bomb. My first spelt encounter but definitely not the last. The kale was fine. The meal was solid but nothing to write home about. The atmosphere and setting was good along with the service. I'm glad we tried a standard English pub but not impressed by the food. Regardless of the meal, it was still a great family memory.

We arrived with plenty of time and finished our main course with time too but then dessert inexplicably took a while. No servers came over to help and we had to get up to express the fact that our show -- again we ordered from the pre theatre menu and told them of our plans -- started in 15 mins. They finally came over with the dessert which we had to scarf down instead of getting the refund of dessert. Wasn't worth the fight but ruined an otherwise good meal. The burger was terrific for example. They also sat us at a weird table in the back that was difficult for the servers to get to and had sound reverberate so the loud table next to us just dominated the sound in the room. Just shows that a meal needs to have more than a good food to be enjoyable.

Took them a while to come to our table to take our drinks orders. When they did come we ordered espresso martini and a vodka martini. Definitely regretted the espresso intake last night, heart was racing. Two is more than enough. The espresso martini was sooo good we ended up ordering seven of them. The vodka martini was very different compared to what we are used to; not bad but didn't order again. For our starters we ordered the San Daniele, Gnocco Fritto, Focaccia bread w/ olive oil, Buffalo mozzarella, tomato and basil pizzette, and the Beef Carpaccio. The focaccia bread tasted a bit stale so we ended up telling the waitress and she was kind enough to take it off the bill. The beef carpaccio was good but needed some more dressing, and tasted a bit plain. The pizza was very very tasty. The sauce and mozzarella on top were delicious. But the SAN DANIELE WAS TO DIE FOR. My boyfriend and I were so obsessed we were going to go again for dinner to just order that. It was fried dough almost like zeppolis with thinly sliced prosciutto. SOOOO GOOD!! For our meals we got the Veal Milanese and the Cacio e Pepe. Both tasted amazing. The veal could have been a little thinner and needed salt but when we squeezed extra lemon it tasted good. I asked for the cacio e pepe with less black pepper and they listened. Cooked to perfection and tasted sooo good. The pasta was al dente just how I like it. For dessert we got the Profiteroles, amarena ice cream. Looked so good on Instagram pictures but when we tried it, it wasn't for us. The ice cream in the middle tasted icy and the profiterole itself was hard. They came to the table and poured hot chocolate sauce all over, very nice but still didn't help with taste. They were kind enough to also take that off the bill since we both only took one bite. If we are ever in London again we would definitely love to come back. Romantic vibes with dimmed lighting and live band. Loved it!

Recently our team of 25 chose to enjoy dinner at One Lombard Street…read more Upon entry, the restaurant is elegant, open seating, high ceilings, with a bustling and busy atmosphere. When you eat here you know you're in the heart of the London financial district as the ambience and high brow feel vibrates inside the restaurant. In other words, it feels expensive and it's loud, obnoxiously so. This is not a quiet hidden gem but is a victim of its own open floor plan and music choice some manager deems. The service and food: When you find yourself at such a hip yet sophisticated place, you're right to set your expectations high. Sadly you're about to encounter the first preventable issue - the service. Our waiter was a busy and quick talking man who moved briskly darting here and there reminding me of the player in "whack-a-mole". Like the game, he reacted but rarely caught a pattern on how to best succeed at his job. For instance, we have multiple tables. The first couple received water, wine, and cocktails yet our table was ignored for twenty thirsty minutes. When I say ignored, I mean he knew he was missing us he just decided to focus what limited time on what he could control, and who would disagree if been in his shoes? This is one of the fundamental reasons we will not return as a team. The service was poor and underwhelming. The food did not help. It was small portions, complicated, aiming for a higher experience only to be missing the basic elements of what most would define as good. It was bland. I was "issued" a beet salad, even though I said I did not care for beets. The chef seems to think I would convert upon tasting. He is mistaken as were everyone who ate his beets in my group. Main course was a small chicken breast and potatoes. (Side note: my friend had the same dish only his potatoes were boiled and mine mashed, no one could explain why we had different dining experiences yet ordered the same item). The chicken skin was rubbery, an avoidable failure easily remedied with a salamander in the kitchen. One of the yanks at our table pointed out he had better rotisserie chicken at Costco - ouch. The cocktails and wine selection were the shining stars of the night. Sadly our waiter moved bottles of wine around so much we often found ourselves thirsty and frustrated, and dodging droplets of red wine has he carelessly dripped near our jackets and slacks. Overall I'd recommend you try One Lombard Street. Why? Simply because a restaurant should not be judged by one groups experience. I suggest you enjoy the good wine, make great memories and leave the restaurant with your own opinions and observations. Will I go again? Yes, simply because everyone deserves a second chance. Will I go a third if Groundhog Day repeats itself, no.
