The techs came to our home and explained everything and made sure to get things done with great professionalism. They were also very kind and helpful. The ONLY thing I wish was they had to come back the next day to finish up some work, I wish they sent the same techs over. Only because they already knew exactly what was needed. I know they made notes on our file, but I worked at a HVAC company and we always tried to send the same tech to finish a job, but I also understand the previous techs might've had appointments the next day or ran over on a job. KIMCO MECHANICAL and BILL ROBERTSON This review is difficult…read moreto write for a few reasons. One is that as a homeowner, and owner of two rental properties, good, honest, reliable technicians and tradesmen are difficult to find and hold. Bill Robertson, owner of Kimco Mechanical was one that- at one time. That good relationship has been trashed by Robertson and Kimco. Over the years, between my three properties with four HVAC systems, Kimco Mechanical and I have done around $15,000 in business. All was well. Bill Robertson and his company Kimco Mechanical were responsive, pleasant, fair and honest. Another reason is that Robertson and Kimco had always been good to us, so this turn of events was a confusing shock. In January of 2021 we needed a new HVAC system at our rental. The roof there is old but serviceable. There was an old furnace vent pipe piercing the roof that would be rendered obsolete after the new HVAC install. We had had a leak there in the past, but this had been professionally repaired prior to the HVAC system install and the roof was fine- until... Kimco removed much of, and shortened that vent pipe through the roof, capped it and resealed it as part of the old furnace removal, but it immediately leaked at first rain. I called Kimco and they quickly addressed it themselves once, but the leaks continued every rain. I sent videos and pictures of the leaks from the tenants and I continued to call Bill and Kimco. I was then told "I don't do roofs- look at my invoice- it says so!" (It does say that). I said that "it wasn't leaking until you messed with it". He said "not my problem". I asked "if you had torn a carpet, or broke a window by mistake during the HVAC install, even if you "don't do carpets or windows", wouldn't you FEEL responsible and actually BE legally responsible for fixing it- either yourself or by a professional?". I was told again "I don't do roofs, look at my invoice". I suggested a compromise where I paid a roofer, and then was reimbursed by Kimco, either with cash or in free or discounted service calls, etc., but was told "Nope. I don't do roofs- not my problem". The professional roof repair cost me $150- no big deal. I moved on. There was no skin off Kimco's back whatsoever. I was willing to forget this $150 rip-off and continue to use Kimco because of the long history. When another recent HVAC emergency arose (our HVAC struck by lightning), I called multiple times, but was ghosted by Robertson and Kimco. No answer at cell or office. No callback, not even a "get lost". I asked to have an adult conversation if there was some issue. Nope. Nothing. Apparently, Robertson had decided we were done, but didn't have enough guts to say so. Kimco left us hanging with no AC in August. Do not do business with Kimco Mechanical or Bill Robertson. They "don't do roofs". Worse: They don't fix what they break. Then: They Ghost You. Steve O'Connell

I bought a 1904 home in Thomasville NC to use as an Airbnb, and spent over a year renovating it, I live in California, so all my contractors dealings are over the phone, and all of them are based on people doing what they say they will do, another word, honestly, integrity, and human decency..when I decided to hire Sean he was great, on point with his responses...two new units were supposedly installed and everything was done according to him..a week later my plumber went by the house there was a poodle of water on my 120 year old original wood floors, leaking from the hvac system he installed up in the attic...along with damages to the first floors ceilings I reached out he came immediately to remedy that..this was obviously due to shitty work. A few weeks goes by, my sister then goes to stay at the house and it is freezing cold, this was last Nov 2025, contacted Sean, he comes out and "supposed" he checked, corrected the settings and temperature on the unit...he says if the house doesn't warm up then call back...a couple days goes by, house is still freezing COLD!! This went on a few times in a span of a couple weeks...finally I fly out from Cali to NC and stayed at the house and the temperature was in the low 40s!!! Same song and dance!!! Finally a couple weeks of back and forth during my stay there, he tells me that the duck work underneath the house is old and probably needs to be replaced, this is why the house is not getting warm...I said ok fine let's redo that..on the night b4 he was supposed to come out I zelled him $1900 for materials..the next morning I waited, the next day I waited, no return calls or texts...days goes by I hear from his brother saying he was in the hospital..and that he will reach out when he is well..I waited, and waited...finally he calls i had multiple conversations with him and making promises of him making one promise after another! In the meantime I had to hire a new company to come out and redid the duck work...cons I find out he didn't even have the decency to go underneath the house to assess what was wrong with the duck work, if it was even hooked up to the vents...so on top of doing shitty work he also pocketed $1900 for paid service that he did not provide... he has now blocked my # The following is a message to him directly: Hey Sean FYI The heater is not working AGAIN AT Main Street house and I hve a real Heating company out, today will be the 2nd times and he said all the installs that you did was NOT UP to code!!! on top of you ghosting and scamming me out of $1900 I am definitely now committed to making sure that these issues with your company, integrity and poor quality of your work will be broadcast loud and clear over the internet (yelp) Facebook or where ever else, along with contacting any local, state, and regional regulatory agencies that over sees your industry and make them aware of your company so that other home owners do not have to go through what I did and am going through.
