We walked in and were immediately greeted and seated. We ordered the figgy piggy flatbread, chicken tenders with fries and the steak frites and desserts. The flatbread was yummy! I enjoyed it very much. The steak frites smelled delicious ! Even the couple next to us ordered this same dish based on the smell alone. The fries were crispy and very flavorful. The steak (ordered medium) wasn't as flavorful as I would've liked. It also wasn't as tender. I tried my niece's chicken tenders and they were ok. Nothing special, not as crispy. They were more stringy and dry. We ordered desserts too! Tiramisu and crème brûlée. Both delicious ! The ambience is casual. The people are friendly (Kensington is a very friendly place !). The selection leaves much to be desired too. For a NZ Sauv lover, I'm sick of only seeing Kim and Oysterbay only. While I do not love their selection or their prices, but I do shop here because it's convenient to my home. One thing I REALLY wish they would get is a cooler. They offer NO COLD/CHILLED BEER OR WINE and that is a travesty. How hard can it be? It just sucks when I'm popping in for a quick gift or bottle of bubbly on my way to brunch- but no cold bottles.
