Read on for more. I have been seeing Dr Nikki Allen as my primary care provider for a few years. On a couple of occasions Dr Nikki has been booked up when I needed an appointment so I've seen Dr Tim Allen. Although, he's primary an Addiction Specialist, he also serves as a General Practitioner. These two people are not only excellent, professional, caring doctors, who go way above and beyond for their patients, but they also serve and give so much of themselves in their community, especially to those in need, in a real, sincere, tangible way! I happened to be looking up the link to their website for a new friend who is looking for a new doctor (as I've referred others who have been beyond satisfied, btw) and came across this review . It grieves my heart and makes me angry to see them and their livelihood slandered in such an egregious manner. Therefore, I felt compelled to set the record straight. I could sit and type an entire dictation of what was said and done between this woman and the Allens, and between her and the police officers, but nobody wants to read that so I will try and sum it up. At NO time did Dr Timothy Allen raise his voice, let alone start "yelling" at this woman. Neither did his son, who happens to be one of his receptions. Both spoke so softly and calmly that I was in awe! Dr Tim never came anywhere close enough to put his hands in her face. He acted professionally the entire time. This woman was rude and disrupting their business even though Dr Tim was trying to accommodate her tardiness by letting her wait until he had finished with the other patients who were on time. She became more and more unruly. He had every right to call on the police department. It is private property and she was creating unrest and upsetting other patients. You wouldn't allow that in your home, would you? When she finally realized she wasn't going to get her way, she decided to claim racism. Not only was their not one racist word uttered nor implied by the Allens, but I've got news for you, my VERY WHITE friend was ALSO dismissed as a patient by Dr Allen for very similar reasons and he had been a patient for most of his life! Again, I could go on but I don't think it's necessary. Every slanderous claim that this woman made is a falsehood-- made up out of whole cloth. I also witnessed every interaction between her and the police officers. Again, those conversations didn't go anything like she claims. They said the opposite of what she claims, that Dr Allen "wrongly called them." They told her that he had every right to do so. They certainly did NOT come in "hot ready to attack" her. She has falsely slandered them as well. Finally, you don't have to believe my account. I encourage you to check them out for yourselves if you're in the market for a new doctor!

She makes you feel as vauled as a family member. She truly takes time to get to know each patient and ensure she not only listens but truly understands patients' symptoms and concerns. Rather than just writing a prescription to mask the symptoms, she is dedicated to finding the root cause and the plan of care that will best solve that problem. She perfectly balances her doctorates in traditional and natural medicine to meet the needs of the patients and find the path to healing and and optimal health. She is incredibly thorough and detailed in her approach to caring for her patients. Several members of my family are Dr. Brown's patients and they all leave their appointments beyond impressed with Dr. Brown's knowledge, compassion, and dedication to each patient. She is well worth the price and any potential wait. The fact that she doesn't accept insurance, while unfortunate for personal finances, is actually a good thing. Because Dr. Brown doesn't work with insurance, she's not ruled by them. This is why she can care for patients as they need, not as the insurance companies deem "the cheapest approach". If you look at your last co-pay bill from a doctor's visit, you'll see those appointments are billed at THOUSANDS of dollars. Dr. Brown isn't paid by insurance, so her prices of $895 for a new patient and an average of $350 for follow-up appointments (based on complexity), are incredibly reasonable. This is also why she can spend more time with her patients-- without insurance setting their typical limits (see X amount of patients daily and each appointment can only be 15 minutes max), Dr. Brown can dedicate the amount of time the patient needs for each appointment. This is why Dr. Brown's shortest appointment is an hour long, with some scheduled for as long as 90 minutes. Dr. Brown is so dedicated to her patients and ensuring the highest possible care that if a patient's needs exceed the scheduled appointment time, Dr. Brown stays until their needs are met. Dr. Brown prioritizes the patient in front of her. She looks at the whole person: life experiences, each system of the body, and their daily quality of life. There's no other Dr. as thorough, caring, or knowledge. You cannot get a better experience or meet a more dedicated and caring doctor.

She suggested I skip breakfast, eat three hard boiled eggs for lunch, and have plain grilled chicken on top of a bed of plain lettuce for dinner. And if I wanted a snack at all during the day to have a cheese stick. She also said that peanut butter and nuts are too caloric, and that I should never eat those. And forget about carbs! She said pasta and bread are a huge no no (even in moderation) and that she never eats carbs. What was I supposed to say? Congratulations on depriving yourself of tasty foods? She was also super abrasive and rude when she said she wouldn't write me a prescription for Ozempic (which, I never asked for one and wasn't planning on asking for it!) She brought it up on her own. I've never left an appointment feeling so horrible about myself, but there's a first time for everything and thanks to Dr. Oosterbaan, that's exactly how I felt. If this is how she treats someone who isn't considered "overweight", I'm scared to imagine how she treats someone who is. Two and a half weeks later and I'm still disgusted by this conversation. I show up at 5:20 and a walk in with no appointment arrives at same time. The receptionist is talking on and on with the phone and ignoring us from approaching her. She gets off the phone and puts the walk in on the schedule and then sees me. The receptionist tells me I need to pay $150 copay before I can be seen. She doesn't give me an option for a receipt of my payment so I got no receipt to prove I paid. I wait and wait and they see the walk In before me. It's now past 6 and I'm given no update as to what's the delay nor given an estimated wait time. I approach her and ask what's going on & why was the walk in seen before me. She says he had made an appointment and insists I'll be seen soon. I ask her for what time he was scheduled and she says she can't pull up that information. I finally get seen and the assistant takes my vitals and I tell her I'd like to be tested for strep and COVID because my voice and throat are very sore. The assistant says ok we can test you. She pulls a sample for strep and COVID. I'm seen by a nurse practitioner, not a doctor, whom spends 1 minute with me. She barely looks at my throat and doesn't issue one comment about it. She asks if I want to get tested for COVID. I said yes and they already pulled the sample. She says I can't run the sample until the assistant comes back to swipe her badge. She told me to take OTC antihistamine & offers no pain or antibiotics. Three weeks later, I get the EOB from my insurance. It says the claim has been processed and patient responsibly is $0. I call their billing department and ask why I was misquoted and charged $150. She doesn't give a valid answer. I ask for my $150. She says no. I tell her the claim is processed and it shows I had no patient responsibility and I can send it to you for proof. She tells me that's not necessary and won't do any good. She keeps insisting the claim is pending and won't issue the refund. I ask for a time frame for when it will be completed. She says idk and gives no time table. Such scammers! Buyer beware!

The appointments are on time, the staff are friendly, and the facility is always clean! There is a Lab/X-ray center on the same floor (it shares a waiting room) which is extremely convenient if your doctor orders any tests. There has only been one occasion I had to go to a separate facility, but that was for a unique blood test. An advantage to the Wheaton system is they offer online scheduling, emailing with your doctor, prescription refill request, etc. through a program called "MyChart". I work weird hours, so this has been especially helpful for managing things I don't have time for during regular business hours. Also, I've been able to get results faster on my own without having to come to the office.

Didn't bring up his MRI results or discuss them, didn't talk about any of his structural abnormalities, didn't ask "how are you," didn't listen to any concerns, didn't ask if we had questions, kept tapping on the exam table - slouched and leaning back in the office chair - completely unprofessional, cocky, disrespectful, NO bedside manners, treated us like we didn't know anything (I myself have a medical degree as an NP), didn't even assess my son(!), opened the door, and walked us out of the room. I would NEVER recommend this provider to absolutely anyone. I have no idea who would rate him so highly, but I really hope that you look to other providers to have an understanding of what one would be like if they had their patient as the focus of attention, during an office visit that I am paying for, related to a pretty significant issue.

Not what I expected. Exceeded my expectation…read more I had to complete and bring some paperwork (medical history, etc.) and a CD with two CT scans. I thought it better to submit them prior to the app't so the Dr. might have a chance to review BEFORE my visit. How could he go through all that and the scans during the app't, which I expected to be 15-20 minutes? The doctor saw me within 10-15 minutes of my appointment time and spent over 45 minutes speaking (and listening) to me, doing a brief physical exam, and then reviewing, in detail, the CT scans of my cervical and lumbar regions. He didn't review the scan in advance. He spent the time to review them with me. I was not there to proceed with any particular action or surgery. I was there to CONSULT and strategize whether to take action now (I'm 67), or wait some years, maybe 10 or whatever, to live with my ongoing condition/s (I've had a discectomy and fusion already) and take action at some later date. Dr. King understood all that, and considering the complete Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD) I have, he recommended we take a wait and see approach on the surgery. He did refer me to Dr. Doniparthi in the Pain Management clinic to again CONSULT the possibility of an injection or trigger point therapy. (I have seen her more than once before and had injections before). I did follow up with her the very next day and her assessment was basically the same - no assurance that any injection would help... might help, might not. So... wait and see as long as I could continue to function as is. I was very pleased that I was listened to, that a conservative approach was considered and taken, and will return to Dr. King, if and when, I deteriorate to needing some intervention.
