I have to agree with the previous one star rating of this post office. The lady behind the counter is rude and condescending each time I have had to be served by her. I have also witnessed her being rude and making fun of a lady who obviously had health issues. I have had to go today because I was short of time, but I usually use the PO counter in Lichfield Street as, whilst much busier, the staff are so much more friendly and helpful. This woman seems to go out of her way to be horrible and also charges a higher postage rate and then claims she didn't hear you say the rate you asked for and also "has told you what the price and service she has selected" when she clearly didn't. My husband stopped using this counter for this specific reason. I won't be visiting again. read more

Darlington Street Post Office is a great little post office and I always try to go to this one rather than the on in town. The lines are always short even though there is only two staff on at a time. I have been able to send packages and get my passport processed in half the time it would have taken me at the city centre post office. The staff are friendly and efficient and as well as stamps and envelopes there is a small newsagents inside that sells sweets and newspapers. Its five minutes walk out of the centre of town but well worthe the walk. read more
