I hired this attorney expecting someone who would actually advocate for me, listen to me, and follow through on what I was paying him to do. Instead, I walked away feeling like I had paid thousands of dollars just to be left to figure things out myself. I was told I would receive what he called "ghost representation." I trusted that explanation and paid accordingly. Unfortunately, the follow-through did not match what I was led to expect. What really bothered me was the complete lack of listening. At one point, I was trying to explain that the things he was telling me needed to be done had already been done. Rather than hearing me out, he told me to "let him talk first" and that I could talk afterward. I wasn't calling him for a lecture--I was paying him to understand the facts of MY situation. If you can't take the time to listen to your own client, that's a serious problem. Then there was the issue of the paperwork. I was told that my ex had not signed certain documents. The problem? He had. The documents had in fact been signed. When you're paying an attorney $9,500, you should not have to be the one discovering that basic information being given to you doesn't match the paperwork. The most infuriating part of this entire experience is that I repeatedly felt like I had to do the work, explain the situation, correct misunderstandings, and chase things down myself--after already paying a very substantial amount of money for legal help. $9,500 is not pocket change. That's a significant amount of money, and I expected professionalism, communication, attention to detail, and follow-through. Instead, I was left with the overwhelming feeling that once the money was paid, I wasn't getting the level of representation and attention I expected. I am leaving this review because I wish someone had warned me to ask much more detailed questions about exactly what I was paying for and exactly what would be done on my behalf. If you're considering hiring this attorney, do your homework. Get everything in writing. Verify everything yourself. And don't assume that paying $9,500 means you're going to get the level of attention and follow-through you expect.
