Harbor Freight tools may not be the "top of the line" tools but they are quality inexpensive tools…read more At one time, a particular brand had a line of "good", "better", "best" tools. While I would not put Harbor Freight's tools in the "best" category, they are definitely "better" than a lot of tools for the money. My husband has their mechanic's cart to keep his tools in, he has their 1/2 ton and 1 1/2 ton jacks as well as their paint spraying rig, pressure washer, cordless drill and flashlight, air compressor, wood chipper, and generator just to name of few of the tools. We have had our generator, for example, for 8 years and have had no problems with it whatsoever. When our grandson bought their first house, my husband went down to Harbor Freight and purchased several needed tools for the new homeowner as a house warming present. Now no matter what comes up, he's got a great beginner's toolkit to make repairs with! For most homeowners, the tools from Harbor Freight will take care of the majority of your home repairs.

I've bought smaller equipment at Home Depot and Sears and this is a better more informative experience. Finally, the sales process was simple and exact. Was told that there is a $25 fee for looking at mower, but that would be paid when I pick up after repairs. Received a call on Monday morning that the mower is fixed and total cost is $36. Was called told it would be $156 to repair--but not sure they could guarantee it would start. Decided to not do repair and asked what we owed for their efforts. Told $39 and we went to pick it up. My husband went in paid the bill and asked where it was--told over there-in pieces. He came back to the car to find a box; put the pieces in, dragged the rest of the cart to the front door--I jumped out of he car to open the door and helped him bring it to the car. We struggled but loaded it in--a rag was stuffed in it to sop up the gas. No one helped him and no one put the pieces they took off back together.
