Came here with my coworkers and was expecting it to be bigger but it was a quaint packed shop. The line was out the door but moved quickly. We each ordered a different flavored hot chocolate and were amazed at the customer service and the guy preparing the toppings for the drink. We were all in awe at the taste. If you love chocolate, you'll love Dark Sugars. When you enter the shop it's basically a chocolate lover's playground. There are chocolate truffles essentially lining the store of all different flavors! The shop itself smelled divine. During our visit my friend and I ordered a hot chocolate that was made fresh to order. It was rich, creamy and bursting with chocolate flavor! It even had chocolate shavings on top. MmMMmMMmMmmm!!! Not going to lie, we shared one cup. While I love me some good hot chocolate, I could only handle so much richness. Staff was also really sweet and patient. We came later in the night and they were still hospitable and when we were shamelessly instagramming the hot cocoa, they even told us to wait because it wasn't finished yet! They needed to add those precious chocolate shavings!! Hehe. Overall, come here if you're a chocolate fanatic. I absolutely love this place- love love love love love love love! Best chocolate place on earth! 3.5 years ago I stumbled upon it while visiting Brick Lane with family. Filling the boxes is better than any Tetris game I've ever played! I spend more time maximizing the space than I ever will eating them. And then you eat these chocolates and it is absolutely mind blowing. My two favorite by far are the sea salt caramels, the mini ones) and the orange cardamom truffles. The hot chocolate was amazing. I had them mix ginger and cinnamon. I wanted the saffron and ordered a white saffron not knowing it was white chocolate. I don't like white chocolate at all. They were amazing and replaced it with a super amazing dark chocolate one. I dragged my family across town just to return to my chocolate paradise. Amazing amazing amazing! I went here because I saw a video of their hot chocolate on Facebook! I needed to try it. I've had it twice now, February 2017 and April 2017. Both times have been amazing! The second time was more my favorite because at the end of the cup, all of the chocolate melted in and it basically became a chocolate sauce! SO good! You have a choice in flavor, I always get the classic but my friend gets chili usually. She's also lactose intolerant and they've always made it with soy milk for her! They shred all the chocolate and layer it on top! It's so good, I wish I could have one now! We've also tried the chocolates here. They're good but horribly overpriced! I wouldn't get them for the price that they are. read more

Really if ever planning to visit Brick Lan shops, this needs to be a stop. The selections are abundant and the quality is stellar. Don't stop with the perimeter, there are more chocolates at the bar. There is also a chocolate drink bar, that looked well worth trying. We stuck with the truffles and fine chocolates. The staff was helpful and encouraging to pack our box as full as we could without damaging the truffles. read more

Came here during a rainy cold day, and it was super packed, but god damn it, the chocolate healed my soul. This place serves the most amazing hot chocolate. We had the classic and the Irish. And you can definitely smell and taste the Irish one. There are 2 lines, one to pay, and one to pick up your hot chocolate. After you pay, you wait in line and you can watch this guy just shaving chocolates and pour that generous amount of chocolate shavings into your cup of warm milk. The chocolate shavings made the hot chocolate really rich, and you can tell they did not skim on chocolate. Granted, it's on the pricier side for a hot chocolate, but it was worth every penny, I mean pence. read more

This place has an amazing assortment of chocolates and the best hot chocolate for a cold night. However, coming here now after 6 months from the first time I came, I can see the difference in the way the place is managed. As soon as I came I saw unswept floors, a messy counter, broken fridges behind the counter, not enough staff which effected our drinks. My husband and I got cold drinks, because there was one barista trying to make four different drinks. Granted when I asked the barista to reheat our drinks she did so gladly and apologized for the cold drinks. The place was playing really hip reggae music, the only thing is it was way too loud. All these reasons were why I gave this place 3 out 5 stars. read more

I randomly stumbled upon this place and tried out their hot chocolate. Its a chain and they have couple locations in London. They sell a bunch of exotic chocolates with unique flavors like Bailey's, Whisky, salted cameral, etc. For the hot chocolate, they use milk, coco powder and top it off with freshly shaved white, milk and dark chocolate. Its Instagram worthy. Don't forget to mix it all in before you consume it. read more

A mind blowing experience, as I followed the smell of chocolate down Brick Lane amongst the opulent smell of spices. This gem nearly placed is a grand delight for any chocolate loving crazy ( yes this is me). The array of chocolate would leave you drooling for more. The hot chocolate flavours here are amazing. How can you not been draw in the store with its open doors and bowls piled high of many flavours of chocolate/truffles. I decided to get a Mocha but they have some many different flavours chcoolate drinks from salted caramel and chilli. The drinks look so pretty and tasted like liquid chocolate once the shaving have melted. Sadly did not think it was worth the wait. There were 3 staff on and it took nearly 20min for me to get my drink and their was only 3 people in front of me. Staff were friendly and fun dancing to the music. My wife and I stopped by here after lunch in brick Lane, and we are so happy we did! The place was very busy, but wait times were not long either for the ice cream or drinks. For ice cream, it is cool that they have £1 mini cone scoops that hut the spot if you are craving a dessert fix but don't want to go overboard; they have regular price/size options if you do though. The real treat though is the hot chocolate, which you can get with chocolate shavings for an extra £0.25 Definitely worth it for the experience of seeing them make it live, and the taste is just delightful. Highly recommend visiting if you are in the Brick Lane area! read more

The product is good but massively overpriced. You're definitely paying for the novelty of the place rathee than the actual chocolate. However, the reason for the low score is primarily because the staff are so rude. I can get someone to cuss me out for free if I shoulder barge enough people in the street.
