I've had my nose pierced since I was 14 and have never had an issue -- until I came here. I had a new stud put in, and within an hour of leaving the shop, it completely fell out. I followed aftercare instructions and did nothing to dislodge it. When I called to explain what happened, I expected a little understanding or accountability, especially since it had just been done. Instead, I was offered a discounted rate to have it re-pierced -- not a full waiver, even though this was clearly not a fault on my end. But the manager showed zero remorse, offered no solution that reflected any genuine customer service, and left me feeling dismissed and frustrated. Now I'm left without a piercing and can't afford to get it re-done because they wouldn't take accountability. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this felt like a complete lack of care for their clients. Do better. PS. the person who put in my stud was very lovely and seems experienced. I don't want this to reflect on them but instead on how the situation was handled.

From the moment I explained the issue, Amanda A was rude, dismissive, and acted as if I was bothering her. She immediately took an accusatory tone, spoke over me, and made assumptions without even listening to the full situation. At no point did she attempt to be helpful -- instead, she made it clear she had no interest in resolving the problem and treated me as if I had done something wrong. This kind of behavior is unacceptable from anyone representing a customer-facing business. I've had positive experiences at other locations, but this interaction left a very negative impression. I strongly hope management addresses this, as no customer should be treated this way.

I got some good little additions by the artist/owner that really helped my tattoos look better. I was thinking about the clean and cool space the whole time. I was provided with a wrist by Joy Choi aka Sieun Choi at the Kitsilano studio on April 24. On May…read more5, I emailed with a number of concerns, specifically that the colour was becoming invisible and/or was quickly blending. An artist elsewhere advised that Joy should have known to do the work much bigger, knowing that the colours will blend and within 6 months, NONE of the detail will be visible. He recommended spending a minimum of $2800 over the span of two years to go in for monthly laser removal treatment, which would include blistering for 7 to 10 days per treatment and probably discolour, after which I could wait a year to finally get the tattoo done properly (2027!). I spent roughly $500 on the tattoo and tipped Joy $100, satisfied upon leaving the studio. Thereafter, I asked Joy and the owner, Clayton Aelbers, to comment on the very poor result and the recommendations I received. Joy sent me a mild apology and then remained silent. Clayton wrote that I could return for free touch ups. I then wrote to Joy to request the return of at least the $100 tip, asking if she would prefer me to post honest and negative reviews of her work, and/or sue her and the studio. Joy sent that note to Clayton, who then wrote that I am no longer welcome whatsoever at Royal Rose, stating also that he was going to involve the police and his lawyers over my email [I was not contacted by the police or any lawyer]. In an attempt to resolve this matter as efficiently as possible, I told joy that I would return for free touch ups. Upon arriving at Royal Rose Kitsilano, the owner Ryan immediately reminded me that I'm no longer welcome there, and I left. I then went to Adrenaline Tattoo, who urged me again not to spend any money or energy on this tattoo. I did spend $115.00 at Adrenaline on very minor touchups. So because I asked for Joy to return my $100 tip and because I mentioned the possibility of suing, I am left with a partial, very poor, very old looking wrist tattoo that will probably undergo a lot of heartache to remove. I do not have the funds to have it removed at present as I am on permanent disability with severe chronic pain. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. AVOID ROYAL ROSE. GO ANYWHERE ELSE. * physical limits prevent me from taking and including photos.

Well now that I know more about you need a minimum of two treatments. My friends $400 included the follow up, Timeless charged $250 for the follow up....So yes, the Groupon was a "bait and switch". This is the only thing keeping him from a 5 star rating. Now the good, and why he is worth paying the same or more than where my friends went. First off microblading is sub dermal. Meaning they actually cut into your skin, tattoo artists are trained in this and understand the proper procedures to keep people safe and sanitary. Lee was the artists name. I was impressed enough on my "cheap" first visit to pay full price for the second. He was very concerned on making my brows look natural. He spent 10 minutes watching me do facial expressions to make sure the brows he drew were natural. I must say the process is fit for erotica novels. He studies your face staring deeply into your soul with his steely hazel eyes. He has no choice but to straddle your legs with his skin tight jeaned crotch. Then he starts humming to the song playing in the background making your earlobe vibrate. Hottest day of beauty ever!! I waited 3 months to post my review....My friends brows are already gone....mine look natural and fabulous! Thank you Lee

As such, I spent most of my time in the waiting room in the front lobby killing time. What I can tell you: The place is clean and orderly. The front staff were very friendly, and after observing them for an hour or so (as there wasn't much to do while waiting), they were very professional and helpful, to clients at the venue and over the phone. The waiting room consists of some padded chairs and a coffee table with binders with the various tattoos you can get. There's a water cooler and a washroom as well. I couldn't tell if they had free wifi, but there was one of those 'linksys' unsecured access points with full bars that worked from the lobby, which was handy for me since I was able to write a few Yelp reviews on my laptop while I was sitting around waiting (but with all unsecured wifi spots, especially those that you don't know who owns them, I would never to any kind of financial transactions or anything that requires inputting a password of any sort). I don't think I'd ever get a tattoo for myself (simply doesn't interest me), but if I were in BC and had to get one, I'd probably go here. 13/30
