My sister got married yesterday (to a great guy with a full head of hair) but I am bald so I never…read moredo haircuts anymore. With that said, I did want to put in the effort and get my beard properly trimmed up. Last August, I went to this a place in New Canaan before my friend Gillian's wedding (happy anniversary to them btw) and they literally charged me $200 to shave my head and trim my beard. That place also didn't even do a great job shaving my head - I had to touch it up myself - so I knew I was not going back to that place before my sister's wedding. I will never go back there. Ever. So with that place being ruled out I decided to search for a new place and found Rudy's: conveniently located very close to my grandma's place in Darien. I'm so glad that I did. Erin (master stylist) absolutely crushed and went above and beyond the service I selected. I've literally gotten a "haircut" 2 times since 2018; it's strange to find myself back in the chair. I used to have sick hair tbh. I digress. Erin was an absolute pro and had my beard looking super sharp for the wedding. I basically just said "I trust you, do what you think is best" - she nailed it. The entire team there was super nice and accommodating and I would recommend them to everyone in the area. I would recommend them to people not in the area too. The location itself was very nice. It has tons of parking and it has a really beautiful interior. Classy vibe, but not trying to be something beyond what it is. Idk if that makes sense. The point is that this is a great spot and you should get your haircut or beard trimmed or head shaved here in my honest opinion. It's also reasonably priced IMO. I absolutely crushed it at my sister's wedding btw and that's probably because of Rudy's Grooming Club.

I'm a die hard fan that drives right by 20 other options to come here. Highly, highly recommended.

This was my first haircut with Fadi, and it definitely won't be my last. He's quick and efficient in the best way being confident, skilled, and still extremely detail-oriented. I told him I wanted a new haircut and a different look, and he delivered. The cut came out sharp, modern, and exactly what I needed. You also get the full Hammer & Nails luxury grooming experience with the spa-style touches, the relaxing setup, and they offer any beverage you'd like, which makes the whole appointment feel like a reset, not just a haircut. The shop itself is brand new in a new construction development, everything is clean, modern, and comfortable. If you're looking for a high-end men's barbershop in Darien, a men's haircut, or premium men's grooming services, I highly recommend Hammer & Nails Darien and book with Fadi.

Very spacious, clean, welcoming and scent/aroma from oil/candles in the place was relaxing and soothing. The guy with the beard at the front desk was awesome !! He offered me a drink and showed me around explaining what the business had to offer. Soon after met with Andre the barber. Also friendly, professional and accommodating. I showed him a photo of the cut I wanted and he quickly agreed to take care of me. I also had my beard trimmed and facial masked treatment. Wow ! Amazing !! Felt like a new man coming out of there. Kudos to this specific location and my wife for taking care of me.

I had a membership with my son we went every few weeks. Each time we waited and waited, we had many times where we showed up and the barber was not there and they "fit us in" with someone else (we did not show up to have a haircut with a different person). The amenities got worse and worse and everyone but Rudy acted as if they did not want to be there. We did not take advantage of the shampoo etc., so our haircuts were 10-15 minutes and this was the case for years. There were a two - three occasions when we were 10-15 minutes late and they acted angrily and would not work with us, despite us waiting 15-30 mins most times we get a haircut....horrid service. Most recently I ran late called ahead and they said to come 15 minutes late, they called me when I was in the parking lot and walking in, I was 14 minutes late and said "they don't have time for you". Given this complaint and a request to pass along comments to the owner, I received an email saying "we cannot accommodate your requests......your appointments and membership are cancelled" this was from Linette. This happened the day of a haircut, after I reached. Linette was rude and refused to let me send in a complaint to anyone but her, despite being cancelled on and delayed (nearly everytime). She said the owner had no interest in speaking with clients and was "disengaged" from the business. Do not go here unless you have extra time to spend and want to be mistreated. One of the worst run organizations I have ever seen. The turnover in receptionists and staff is amazing. Note: Rudy is fantastic! The others believe they are doing you a favor by having you as a client.
