It really is true that you get what you pay for, but in this case I got a lot more! Marlisa was professional, courteous, and meant to cut hair. It's evident that her prior work as a carpenter has prepared her to be an artistic barber who gives high-quality haircuts. I feel like I FINALLY found my barber. As far as the cut goes, it's exactly what I wanted. My hair is somewhat difficult to cut because it's thick and long on top but I have a fade on the sides. Finding a barber who specializes in clippers as well as scissors is a lot more challenging than you might think. But Marlisa is an expert in both and it really showed in my haircut. The experience was also a premium one. I was offered a beverage as soon as I walked in, my coat and hat were taken to be hung in a coat closet, and I was walked over to the barber chair. The shop itself is really clean and modern with good music playing, and a tv. Marlisa offered a hot towel shave with a straight razor and cleaned me up with a hot towel at the end. She is a Wella colorist/stylist with 18 years experience and when l expressed my concerns and desires she luckily had time to accommodate me. The day of my appointment she analyzed my hair and addressed my concerns and she delivered! She did a Wella color and Wella smoothing system that worked out very well! She was more than happy to tweak or address any of my concerns! My cut always cost $20something, which includes straight razor neck shave, and nice massage afterward. I always throw him $30. It's been so long, I really don't know what he charges for standard haircut alone, but def not $66, ha. This is an old school barber joint, not a new salon. If Joe S. was charged $66, maybe Bruno did not like his attitude, and wanted to make sure he never came back.
