Terrible Customer Service!!!!!! Had cancelled my appointment with confirmation and was still charged a 50% "no show" fee. As a regular customer I have reccomended this facility in the past, unfortunately the customer service experience has changed my opinion drastically. Made back to back appointments and arrived early. Waited 15 minutes past our appointment when another customer came in. They then tell us we have to wait while they give them their haircuts because they double booked at the same time as us and they arrived late. I'm very particular about who takes care of my teeth, who my PCP is, who does my laundry, who does my monthly massage, and who cuts my hair. So when I moved here from Des Moines 3 1/2 years ago I was leaving behind all these people who I trusted with these aspects of my life. It took some research and a few try outs before I found Carrie at Dapper Gents but when I did I knew she was my barber for the long run. I love the masculine vibe of the shop and they carry some great men's product lines. The sop is always clean and they did a great job of following COVID protocols. I absolutely hated having to miss my haircuts during the period when these shops could not be open. Carrie is a perfect barber for me. She takes notes, makes sure she remembers how you like things done, and always puts me in a good, relaxed mood. I look forward to my appointments. They aren't easy to get for good reason. Carrie has a loyal following so consider yourself fortunate to get her. I don't know the other stylists except for Christie who has also been at Dapper Gents for as long as I've been going. She also has a loyal following as I see there guys in her chair frequently. Best shop for men in St. Louis. I always get compliments on my old, gray hair. read more

I am from out of town and needed a place I could trust. I was walking around town from my hotel checking out the local scene and came across this place. After reviewing their yelp status I decided to give them a shot. Glad I did! Service was amazing, everyone was extremely friendly. Katie helped me out and did a great job. I wish my hometown of San Antonio had a place like this. Great cut, neck shave, head massage, shoulder massage and funny conversation. If I'm ever back I'll definitely go again! I really liked the experience and service I received today. It was my first time here and Katie took really good care of me. Parking and highway construction downtown made it difficult for me to get there but the trouble was worth it. The environment was very pleasant and it was sweet of Katie to keep offering me a refreshment even though I refused. Not going to lie, the pricing was kinda steep. I would still gladly pay it over again but it's more expensive than other salons. My favorite part of the experience was when she was washing my hair while my eyes were covered with a hot towel, and the back massage before getting my hair blow dried. Appointments are easy to make so hurry up and book one and you'll be walking on sunshine like I did walking out of the shop. read more

I've been meaning to come get a cut here for a couple weeks now. I made an appointment (can be done online or called in) which was really easy to do. The staff was really friendly and courteous. A complimentary drink is offered first thing, but you might want to wait until after your appointment. I did, and it was icing on the cake. Tara was really friendly, offering advice on the cut and really took her time with it. I felt well taken care of, and all-in-all a good price for the service I received. I will be coming back for many more visits! Did I also mention that all of their accessories are locally sourced? That's just a +1 in my book. I have had my bread trimmed here 3 times. The most recent time I had about half the length cut and was nervous how it would turn out. Cool place for guys to go and get a trim along with facial hair products and clothing

I showed up early for my very first appointment. I had seen the positive reviews, so I didn't initially have any reason to think this would be a negative experience. I filled out the paperwork and waited until my appointment time. The stylist staff seems to be made up of college aged girls. I'm talking early to mid 20s. They were all very chatty with each other and seemed to move at a snail's pace. About 15 minutes past my appointment time, I started to feel as though I were being ignored. I had seen other customers served, and then the stylists lingering behind the counter or walking around but not looking like they were getting ready to serve the next client. The stylists walked past me several times never making eye contact even saying hello. So, I told the young woman at the counter that I had waited long enough and that I did not want to see a charge on my credit card for canceling the appointment since I had shown up early. She didn't apologize, she didn't give a reason for the delay, she didn't really seem to care. All she said was OK. For a place that charges nearly $70 for a haircut and beard trim, I expected a much better customer experience. read more

I was staying at the Renaissance down the street and I had arrived into town early for a friends wedding. As usual I thought I remembered everything however I forgot to get my hair trimmed. As I was walking by I looked into the window and noticed the cool atmosphere. I went back to the hotel and grabbed the groom and headed over for a trim. We were both impressed and the experience was great. We decided to make an appointment for all of the grooms men to come back the next day to all get trims, shaves, and some facial waxing etc. They went above and beyond to help all of us guys out, we all had a great time, and we bonded over the experience. I sure wish they would come out to Arizona and open a shop out here. If I ever go back to St. Louis I will stop in for sure 100%. Amazing people! read more

Best place to get a haircut in STL and surrounding cities, bar none! I've tried more than 10 businesses and have finally landed at home. This place is amazing. Great location, great atmosphere, awesome clothing and accessories, and a ridiculously amazing staff. They have quick and easy online booking with a vast amount of openings and times available. Bre is the stylist that I see and she is great. I gave her a very vague idea of what I wanted, cause I simply didn't know, and somehow she turned it into exactly what I wanted. The rest of the staff is exceedingly friendly and everyone not only is great at what they do, but they look good doing it. If prices for the services or products are out of your league, go to Great Clips and get their services and their products. At Dapper Gents, just like Great Clips, you get what you pay for. I have never experienced a time where I was not engaged by the staff or felt at home. They offer you drinks of your choice while you wait (if you even have to wait) and offer drinks throughout the time you are there. I have personally seen the stylists work within tight schedules and make up time to get everyone back on pace. This place is doing it right from A-Z. You would be extremely foolish to not give this establishment a try, and even more dense to not enjoy your experience. One of the things I've learned about this Yelp thing is that most of the time people only use it to complain about things that are a non-complaint in most people's minds. I'm writing this on behalf of my husband who got an awful haircut from here. The first time he went is haircut was good but they styled it completely wrong (you'd think they would style it the same as when you walked in but I guess this lady had her own agenda). My hubby went here because of the great ratings it has on Yelp but the 2nd time we went his haircut was absolutely awful (it was a different lady than the first time). She had a crappy attitude and just buzzed the sides of this head without trimming the top or blending the sides. She went very fast; 5-10 min is all the time he was there, which is not long enough to do a good haircut. He had to trim his own hair when he got home after realizing it was longer on one side than the other and not blended. Thankfully he was able to get it looking normal (pretty sad that he was able to cut his hair better than a professional stylist). I wish he could remember her name because I would not recommend her. If you go here be sure to pick someone who is recommended in the other reviews. read more
