My son was disappointed in his last haircut. I called to schedule an appointment but wasn't sure of the time because of my work schedule. It was recommended to me to just have my sons come in as a walk-in. So we did. We left thinking everything was all good, then when we were at home, I noticed that the line done on my sons hair wasn't at all clean an straight. It looks so choppy. If they person who cut his hair was a beginner, then whoever was on staff should've checked before my son got off the chair. We had to catch a flight the next day, so it's not like I could've taken him back. With my regular barber having already closed up shop for the holidays, I spent the day searching online for somewhere to get a haircut and beard trim. I could not find a shop near my home in Rockwall that looked like they could handle the type of haircut I wanted, so I expanded my search a bit. I eventually came across Dapper Barber & Co. in Garland. After reading several positive reviews and viewing photos of their barbers' work, I decided to call and make an appointment. I showed up for my appointment a bit early and was greeted by the guy at the front desk. I was informed that I had been booked with Jasmin and that I was in good hands. As soon as Jasmin finished up with her previous appointment, she greeted me and I was seated right on time. We discussed what I wanted to do with my hair and she wasted no time getting to work. Despite being one of the last customers for the evening, I never felt like she was in a rush to finish up. She took her time and it shows in the final results. I first heard about this place because they randomly started following me on Instagram (not sure how they found me, but they did). And my coworker also went to them as well and recommended them to me. So I decided to book an appointment and give them a shot. I had Jose do my haircut. When I first got there, I was greeted by Randy and you could tell the minute you walked in, this place was just built to be a barber shop. You can also tell that when you look at the guys who work here, they got swag and just look like guys who know who to cut hair. Jose was helping another guy so I waited 15 minutes past my appointment, but no biggie. Jose got to me as soon as he was done with his previous customer. Jose was a really chill guy; since it was our first time doing business, we just had some small talk. He took his time with my haircut, took about 45 minutes in general, but he faded me up nicely and edged me up even better as well so thank you Jose! A haircut with a booked appointment is $25, without an appointment is $20. I'll def be back to get more cuts from these guys, whether it's Jose or any of the barbers there. Lazy, unorganized, and inattentive. This place used to be my go-to, but idk what happened... I walked in 5 minutes prior to my appointment at 2, waited for 15 minutes until somebody asked me if I had an appointment, to which the guy said somebody would be there in 5 minutes to cut my hair. Meanwhile 3 other barbers just sitting around on their phones or vaping, not one of them asked if I wanted a cut (I told them multiple times I would take anyone I just needed a cut). After 40 minutes and 3 walk-ins were helped before me, I left and they seemed like they could care less. The barber never even showed up. Just a few minutes ago I went to the Dapper Barber located in Garland. This is my second time ever that I take my son there. My son walks in first then I walk in and I see a lot of guys standing around. I honestly didn't bother to look if they were cutting hair but one guy on his phone just turned around and said "oh we are closed now" it was 3pm when I walked in and their sign says they close at 6pm. I have been to other barber shops and they would say you know they are not taking anymore clients since they are closing soon. But this one just said it as if they didn't want to take my son. It pisses me off when proprietors make me waste my time. This place advertises that they take walk-ins. There's even a sign that states, in large letters, "walk-ins" welcome. When you sign in on the touch-pad, they ask you whether you are a walk-in or appointment, and when you click "walk-in," they require you to fill out a brief form. After all that, you sit and wait in the black leather couches...and wait...and wait. I waited an hour before giving up. Two others walk-ins came and left during my hour wait, which should have been a sign to leave. At one point, I was the only person waiting to be seen and there were two barbers literally sitting down on their chairs, doing nothing, talking to the other barbers, and still no one turned to me to acknowledge my presence. I guess they didn't want my business. Of note, this place is hyper-masculine with sports references, black leather, and metal and wood and brick decor everywhere. And the conversations among the barbers themselves was homophobic and gender-disparaging for women. I didn't have the be gay or a woman to be offended by the conversation. read more

I've been here three times. First two times, the barber took his time and did a pretty good job. I actually got a fade and he didn't shave it too high like I asked. Most recently, I went again for my third time, but I got someone else. I told him exactly what I wanted. I even showed him a picture just in case. He was cutting fast so I assumed he knew what he was doing. Find out middle of hair cut he didn't really know much English. I didn't get what I wanted. Shaved my sides too high and didn't get a fade and top of my head he cut much shorter than what I asked. I look like a pineapple.. Edit: been here another time. Great environment and every stylist there is super talented - best part was that it did not break my budget. Anthony did my hair this time around and homeboy knows how to fade. Terrible Customer Service. I've been taking my son here for about 2 years. All was well. I mean, I we've had a not so great cut here and there, but for the most part it was all good. We had a scheduled cut, in which we scheduled weeks in advance for my son. His Birthday was coming up and we wanted his hair done nice for the day and his party. Unfortunately his barber CJ could care less about respecting his clients. First off, he cancels on the day of the appointment. Big inconvenience for us as we canceled family plans to make this appointment, because we make good on our commitments. CJ takes it upon himself to reschedule us mid week in the middle of the day. We work, my son goes to school. No go. We told him that would not work, he ignores our text after he texted us first, asking if the rescheduled appointment time would work. We texted several times. No answer. We gave him a day to respond. Nothing, so we messaged him on IG, he responds immediately acting annoyed, as if it's our fault that he cancelled on us and we still need a cut! We shouldn't have to chase a barber that cancelled on us at the last minute. He says he wanted to spend family time and that he was going to get back to us EVENTUALLY and that he's so popular that he has 200+ people trying to contact him so he didn't see it, yadda, yadda, yadda! Bottom line, we weren't too upset, though inconvenienced by his last minute cancelling, but we were willing to reschedule. However, CJ didn't even have the decency to respond in a timely manner when it was his fault the appointment was cancelled at the last minute. Then he blames us like we are harassing him. Customer service goes a long way and he has none of it. We don't have to patronize a business who doesn't care about their clients. And don't go to the Plano shop, we rescheduled with a barber there, Javier and he did the exact same thing except he didn't even bother to text. He just cancelled day of, with no notice or anything. Dapper is trash and they'll never get my business again! read more

Walks in are welcome; I liked the set up they have, once you get in you must sign in (they have an iPad that helps them keep track of people coming in) after signing; a text message is send to you and if it's too busy you can go out do something else while your turn is approaching, that's very convenience as customer. Worst customer service I've ever seen! I walked out after 1 hour and 40 minutes without a haircut, not even a Hello from any of them. Granted, I had no appointment set up, I just came in from New York for a couple of days and was recommended this place by a family member. Went along, looked nice, signed in and waited, and waited... Finally they sent me a text after a half hour saying I'd be up next, and over an hour goes by.... nothing. They saw me there waiting, with my wife, some of them had finished with other customers then sat down and started playing with their phones, or just left. How extremely rude, ridiculous, unprofessional and completely Lame! If they are trying to be 'Trendy' by simply ignoring potential customers, it's a stupid business model. At the very least, get a receptionist who has some clue of how run the show. If you tried this B.S in New York you'd be out of business within a week! Useless Rude Idiots! read more

Manuel aka manny is the one who cut my hair. Loved it and will now be a customer of this location. Loves the vibe and the interaction that the other barbers had with each other.
