It's a space with simple elegance and a rustic charm. This is a real boat club with members who join because they love sailing. The annual Head of the Charles and other regattas are big deals here. But it's good news that the space can be rented out for weddings and other events because it's really pretty cool. The bride and groom of the wedding we attended are both avid sailors and so this place has special meaning to them. I love that there is both indoor and outdoor space here so if you luck out and have good weather, your guests can go out to the expansive deck or down to the water's edge. We had a sunny, perfect late afternoon and so guests wandered freely in and out. You can hire whatever caterer and bar service that you would like which I think is a terrific option when hosting any kind of party. It's a great way to control the quality of the food and not be locked into anything you're not 100% sure of. I'm also told you can't charge for alcohol at this site and must have an open bar; to that I say: "Amen". I am not a believer in hosting guests at a wedding where there is a cash bar. You wouldn't charge people for drinks if you invited them to your home so it's never made sense to me to do it a wedding. So for events held here, it's not a debate: it's an open bar although of course you choose what to serve. There was plenty of room for both dining and dancing in two separate but totally adjacent inside areas. One side was the dining area and the other was for the cocktail hour and mingling, later for the live band and dancing. Although the Boat Club can be a bit tricky to find event though it's a Cambridge address, it is well worth considering if you're planning a wedding especially if you want a place that is unique.

They rent out the basement room, which has a hardwood floor, a stage, and a commercial kitchen. I imagine it would be perfect for a charity dinner or (who knows!) even a small wedding reception. 30 of us spreading out our yoga mats took up about half the room. The heat was unpredictable. When it gets cold, you have to go upstairs and find the man who can turn up the heat for you. He's a sweet guy with a little white dog. Then half an hour later you will be roasting and you'll need to zip upstairs again and ask him to turn it down. One or the other of the two women's toilets on the lower level was usually clogged. One day there were bugs crawling all over the wood floor and someone said they were termites, but we never saw them again. Over the course of two years, I grew to love these quirks.

Situated in a store front on Bow Street, the Green Room is a welcome performance space in the neighborhood. Definitely join their mailing list to stay abreast of visiting performers and take in a show prior to dinner and drinks in Union Square. There is no food or drink available in this room, so plan ahead.

Check-in/out was one of the most seamless experiences I've had with hotels/airbnbs. I didn't have to check in with anyone, and I received the door code a few days before. They have a lovely dining room for guests with homemade cookies, fruit, coffee and tea. Unfortunately I didn't take advantage of the breakfast, but I'm sure it's great too. CCB is really the perfect mix of a hotel and bed/breakfast. I was unsure about doing the solo room with a shared bathroom, but other than having to wait for the other guest to finish his shower so I could take an urgent bio break, it was no issue at all and I would hands down do it again. I'm pretty sure the other floors have a bathroom if you absolutely need it though. For the location, price, comfort, and amenities, College Club of Boston is a no brainer. I got the please to quickly meet the GM on my way out, and she is super sweet. I even left my airpods in the room, and without hesitation they are shipping them back to me. 5 starts forsure.
