Really great rental space for live music and weddings/receptions. They have a full kitchen and a raised stage.

We went to a wedding at this lovely venue a couple of months ago. We had never been to an event…read morehere and were so pleasantly surprised about what a terrific place this is. It's a space with simple elegance and a rustic charm. This is a real boat club with members who join because they love sailing. The annual Head of the Charles and other regattas are big deals here. But it's good news that the space can be rented out for weddings and other events because it's really pretty cool. The bride and groom of the wedding we attended are both avid sailors and so this place has special meaning to them. I love that there is both indoor and outdoor space here so if you luck out and have good weather, your guests can go out to the expansive deck or down to the water's edge. We had a sunny, perfect late afternoon and so guests wandered freely in and out. You can hire whatever caterer and bar service that you would like which I think is a terrific option when hosting any kind of party. It's a great way to control the quality of the food and not be locked into anything you're not 100% sure of. I'm also told you can't charge for alcohol at this site and must have an open bar; to that I say: "Amen". I am not a believer in hosting guests at a wedding where there is a cash bar. You wouldn't charge people for drinks if you invited them to your home so it's never made sense to me to do it a wedding. So for events held here, it's not a debate: it's an open bar although of course you choose what to serve. There was plenty of room for both dining and dancing in two separate but totally adjacent inside areas. One side was the dining area and the other was for the cocktail hour and mingling, later for the live band and dancing. Although the Boat Club can be a bit tricky to find event though it's a Cambridge address, it is well worth considering if you're planning a wedding especially if you want a place that is unique.

A few things to note if you are considering this for your wedding- it is a working boat house, so there will be other people on the grounds and the docks during your event. We were made aware of this ahead of time and okay with this, but were not prepared for the lack of parking due to the rowers being on site. Other than that, the staff was wonderful to work with and Kate was great on the communication front. Highly recommend for any event!

I was very unsure which area to stay in, but I'm so happy I chose CCB because the location is absolutely perfect. Back Bay is very nice and safe. You even have a wonderful park just outside the doorstep to walk around, and the lovely Boston Commons only two blocks away. Check-in/out was one of the most seamless experiences I've had with hotels/airbnbs. I didn't have to check in with anyone, and I received the door code a few days before. They have a lovely dining room for guests with homemade cookies, fruit, coffee and tea. Unfortunately I didn't take advantage of the breakfast, but I'm sure it's great too. CCB is really the perfect mix of a hotel and bed/breakfast. I was unsure about doing the solo room with a shared bathroom, but other than having to wait for the other guest to finish his shower so I could take an urgent bio break, it was no issue at all and I would hands down do it again. I'm pretty sure the other floors have a bathroom if you absolutely need it though. For the location, price, comfort, and amenities, College Club of Boston is a no brainer. I got the please to quickly meet the GM on my way out, and she is super sweet. I even left my airpods in the room, and without hesitation they are shipping them back to me. 5 starts forsure.

The venue itself was breathtakingly beautiful, clean, and presentable. We requested a charcuterie board, champagne, and fruit platter, and it was stunningly displayed and high quality. Thank you again to everyone that made that night so perfect! We want to give a special shout out to our event coordinator, Kaitlin. We initially had two separate venues for our wedding. We planned to have just the reception on the Henry Longfellow, while the ceremony takes place in Boston. It was only a month out from our wedding day, when our ceremony venue fell through and we had to scramble to find an alternative solution. During that stressful time, Kaitlin did an amazing job working with us to combine our ceremony and reception on the Henry Longfellow. She was comforting, accommodating, and a joy to work with. We couldn't have planned our wedding without her! The absolute best!!! Sincerely, Brian & Katy

The receptionist was friendly. The tour guide was phenomenal. Bearing a great, easygoing and a bit sarcastic personality, she was engaging, knowledgeable, funny and honest about her delivery. I learned a few things about the city and the famous schools from her personal opinion. Very steady and peaceful ride. Clean and well-maintained boat with a bar. Be mindful it's hot inside the boat with the scorching sun in PM so bring water, sun screen and hat, dress lightly. It was our second day in town our bodies still adjusted humidity and heat, I felt I was about to get a heat stroke. It'd be nice if they consider AC operated boat in the future.

When it comes to the intimacy of a smaller room, nothing compares to the vibe of this great sounding + visually stunning venue, thanks to Dan Masi for the fantastic wall murals, and to the entire staff for always maintaining a welcoming + energetic atmosphere. The beer + wine selection is superb. Sure the hotel bars bring in some heavy hitters, but the Lilypad consistently features the absolute best of the phenomenal + varied artists we are blessed with in the amazing music scene of greater Boston, as well as talent from NYC + all over the country. The music programming is incredibly varied; some of the best jazz + chamber music performances I have ever enjoyed happened here. The ongoing Sunday-night Jazz Jam session is an awesome scene, always featuring great opening performances by the house-band, followed by convivial jazz jamming, open to players + listeners alike, not to be missed!

They do both reservations and walk-ins but it's safer to make a reservation ahead if you can. It's pretty easy to make one as well; we only booked a day ahead for a Friday night. They have their seasonal cocktails that you can choose your choice of liquor for and martinis (both vodka and gin). They brew their espresso fresh as well so the space smells so good every time it is brewed. I got a Peru Plunder and it was fruity and light (a dangerous one). Their apple pie old fashioned has an interesting aftertaste in a good way. The bartender and the server were attentive and friendly as well. I had a great time and will definitely be coming back. -9.1/10
