Let me start by saying I've been an elite yelper in the past and very particular about being as truthful as possible when it comes to reviews. Dantana's deserves nothing less than a 5 star rating. It's across from Lenox Square Mall. The outside gives very high class. I got reservations for 7:30 on Monday due to it being my birthday. The inside is older and caught me off guard compared to the external view. Nonetheless, we were promptly seated and greeted by our waiter Brianna C. She was very nice throughout and always attentive. We had the crab fingers (seared) for an appetizer (one claw). You can get the claws seared, blackened and I think one other way but I don't remember exactly what the waiter said. I ordered surf and turn 6oz. medium well filet mignon with shrimp, loaded mash and broccoli. My date ordered well done salmon, garlic mash and broccoli. The FOOD was PERFECT ! The genuine reviews my date gave were "I wish I could talk to the chef" and "I thank God for this food". Lol ! I shared those feelings. EVERYTHING was cooked well. Also we both had left overs. We CLEANED THE PLATES. The only con is the menus. The crab fingers aren't on there and the surf and turf is weird. You pick the steak out on the menu and the turf options are on the foldable sign that sits on the table. I really wish that they would update their menu bc that would have made everything more smooth when ordering. With that being said... also annoying in the moment after I got my food it was quickly forgot about. But PLEASE FIIIXXXX THIS if possible. Total tab was about $150. This included two sodas and 2 Amaretto Sours. Our first evening for our family of 5 to be together in Atlanta, and Dantanna's was a GREAT choice! Very comfortable place, not stuffy or scruffy, just right. Our server, Jasmine, was excellent: friendly, efficient, very eager to meet my wife's necessary dietary accommodations. She had the trout with spinach and a baked potato, I had the tuna, pan seared perfectly rare with a delicious lump crab-shitake soy glaze. Best tuna I have had in a long time! Others in our party had the mahi mahi special with scallops on top, chicken and sausage gumbo, Caesar salad, and wedge salad. Everyone was very pleased with their selections. We shared a very nice, moderately priced Oregon Pinot Noir, plus 3 vodka drinks, and 2 craft brews for the beer drinker in our crowd. Haven't been to this Atl landmark in a couple of years as I'd heard it had slipped, but I heard wrong. Had an absolutely awesome experience from the time we walked in until we left. We enjoyed the freshest seafood (crab fingers, daily grouper special), beautifully aged steak (ribeye), great wine, exceptional hospitality, and just a really amazing overall experience. Hard to believe that Dantanna's has been here over 20 years! No doubt the memories of all the great times we've had here celebrating friends, family and sports just adds to the ambiance and warmth. Got sat without a reservation. I ordered the roasted chicken with a side of Mac and spinach. The spinach was flavorful and delicious the Mac was just good and the chicken was so dry felt like I was eating jerky . My partner had the chefs special ribs (not the same as the ribs they used to have on menu.) the sauce was good but a lot of fat on the meat. Had with a side of Mac and mashed potatoes. I dined here on a Sunday for brunch with my cousin who was in town on business. She told me her business partner took her here for dinner the night before and she loved it so much that she wanted to meet here for brunch the next day before she left town. Being that she is a foodie like me I knew it would be a good experience. Dantanna's is located in a shopping center across the parking lot from Lenox mall. I was able to find a spot quickly in the crowded lot. Upon walking in I was greeted by a friendly hostess who seated me immediately. I arrived at 1pm and the restaurant was not crowded at all. Our waiter was amicable and attentive. My cousin was running late so while I waited I ordered a Mimosa Flight. Unlike other flights which usually comes with several glasses of small amounts of whatever the drink is this was different. I received 6 full glasses of a variety of Mimosas and when my cousin arrived I was informed she no longer drinks alcohol so there was no one for me to share with, so I drank up. It had been years since we last spoke so we were there for several hours. My cousin ordered the crab claws, and she thought they were delicious. We both ordered the Crab Cakes Benedict, which came with potatoes and asparagus. My meal was tasty seasoned and cooked to perfection. The prices were reasonably and portions were decent. I love that you can pay your bill at the table and your card never leaves your sight. By 3pm the restaurant was packed due to a game being on. This is a great place to come to watch the game. Since I moved to LA, I remember Dantanna's differently from several years ago when I would come 2 to 3 times a year. I remember juicy, thick steaks with a sear with flavor. I received a mostly flat, flavorless charred cowboy ribeye that wasn't frenched to show the bone. Spinach was chewy, but the mashed potatoes were good. I brought 8 people to this location, expecting them to say great things. Others in my party started talking about New York Prime and how these were 'OK' compared to that location. The server had a great personality and showed up to top off drinks in a timely manner. Yet, the steaks being underwhelming (which is the main draw here) were a huge letdown ...almost embarrassing since I hyped Dantanna's up to be some 'great' steakhouse. Came here (9/27/19) for a quick business lunches with one of the Chiropractors that I work with. Although there are several around Atlanta, I have never been here but was pleased with my fish and jalapeño tacos. That dish was quite filling and came with my favorite vegetable - steamed asparagus. Someone in my party ordered the crab stuffed flounder. It was cooked perfectly, tasted great, and the hollandaise was good as well (not a fan of hollandaise, in general). The Celeste suggested the Krispy Kreme doughnut bread pudding for dessert. It comes with a caramel mocha drizzle and a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream. I don't like Krispy Kreme doughnuts or breas pudding. I still tried it. Its not for me. It's not really sweet. Each person that ate it liked it. Great staff, great food, great atmosphere. Dantanna's is one of my favorite spots because of the chill atmosphere. Every location has a laid back feel that can't be duplicated. They now offer a new brunch menu that is sensational! I LOVE Avocado toast and they have perfected it! The flavors blend so well and sunny side up eggs are a great add. All I have to say is MONKEY BREAD!!! The muffins are light yet satisfying. And the Cajun grouper was everything that went right that day. I've never had fish seasoned so well and cooked so delicately. They certainly have something on this new menu for every palette. There's a ton of TVs so definitely a fancy sports bar vibe and a cigar lounge attached as well. My friends an I were looking for a sports bar to watch to the game. I'm always looking to try new dishes & wanted to find a nice place for us to all enjoy. My guy friends thought this would be too up scale to be a sports bar. We get there & it's super chill & full of life. Everyone is enjoying themselves. They had multiple monitors to watch the game. This was by far the WORST experience I ever had in a restaurant. Our reservation was at 7:30, the order was taken at 8:00 and we didn't get our food until 9:30. Then after ordering a $49 dollar steak it comes out BURNT!! when I say extra crispy it was EXTRA CRISPY but I was encouraged to check the middle. "It's not over cooked in the middle '' they were right, but it still tasted BURNT. Then I asked for lobster on the top with butter sauce. They gave me crab meat even though I specifically asked for LOBSTER. Then all my sides were wrong! Obviously waiting over an hour to get our food you would think I would get some refills on my water??? I got ONE refill in an hour. Was the server rude... NO. Attentive...NO. At one point during the dinner one of my guests went up to the bar just to get a drink order because our waiter was nowhere to be found!! What also bothered me was she was more worried about the cooks in the back being OFFENDED than to check on our food status. We literally waited over a hour for food in a not crowded restaurant.(We went on a Monday) This was a birthday celebration so I came excited and open to try a new restaurant. I left pissed, irritated. and hungry, the only thing that was good were the sides (Mushrooms & broccoli) . I paid $49 for mushrooms and broccoli. Not to mention the gratuity for an non attentive waitress was $50 bucks. Nothing about this $338 dollar tab said it was worth coming back to. If you're trying to do the math, yes we order other things like appetizer, cowboy steak, alcoholic drink this is what made my total be so high. This experience was HORRIBLE read more
