Last Fall, when I winterized my summer cottage for the cold North Woods winter ahead, I did as I…read morealways did: removed the plugs on the housing for my water pump so that no water would be left in the pump to cause it to freeze and break. However, when I arrived at the cottage two days before the Memorial Day weekend, I was extremely disappointed (a gross understatement) to find that the hole for one of the plugs in the water pump was stripped, so that I could not screw in the plug and get the pump going even after almost four hours of effort in my mosquito infested utility room. In desperation, I called a local plumber, who as it turned out was out of town. His office then referred me to Hedberg. Notwithstanding their busy schedule for the Memorial Day weekend, they managed to come out by noon the next day and not only resolved the problem but replaced the plug with a check valve that does not require me to remove the plug for winterizing (so that no water is left in the pump to freeze and break it over the cold winter). On all fronts, their service was truly outstanding (perhaps heroic would be a better word), and I would strongly recommend them to you.
