4 stars, solid choice what they have going for them: big parking lot, large variety of beers/wine/liquor (i hardly know her) i was even able to score a nip of st germain for 5 bucks, not a bad investment as i wanted to dabble and didnt want to drop 40 on a whole bottle. what they dont win awards for: price is a tad higher then the local competition and no bathroom. well i bet you find many packies with a WC, kinda self fulfilling and whatnot, but i needed to go ! i also wanted to see more variety outside there walk in cooler for beer. silly as it sounds, the idea of cold beer in hot car for travel and then back into cold doesnt work well in some cases, but so is life. not a destination per se, but definitely a stop if in the area and in need of the sweet sweet nectar read more

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I spilled some water in the entryway of the store as I was bringing cans to be recycled and was shouted at and told "I messed up the whole store" - absolutely unacceptable and will NEVER SUPPORT this crappy store again!!!! read more

J'wan is the current manager and I've always found him to be super accommodating. I've never had any issues like those described in negative reviews and assume they occurred while it was still Kappy's. Danny's is a great store with an excellent selection of craft beers and spirits. The staff is friendly and you should not hesitate to give Danny's a chance. You won't be disappointed. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would... on several occasions the man at the register was EXTREMELY RUDE. Doesn't speak a word, ignores you and then taps on the card machine. Last time I was there, he gave me such attitude for no reason. Not a pleasant experience, and will never go back. Going to go to Sudbury wine and spirits where I'll probably pay double; but I'd rather deal with a nice staff. read more

Great service, very accommodating and expensive selection. got a question about wine or other alcohol, just give them a quick call and you'll have an answer. read more

I just read all of the poor reviews about Danny's, and Im quite shocked. I moved here to Sudbury about 4 years ago, and go to Danny's all the time. I am treated like a queen there! The staff is super nice. I feel like I'm reading reviews of a different place. read more

A liquor store that won't sell to someone for being too "drunk"??? Give me a break. I'll take my business down the block on BPR to sudbury wine and spirits... good prices and salt and vinegar Cracklins gives you 2 stars adding up to 3... read more

Visited for first time since new to the area. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great selection and was very pleased with my experience.

Trashy. Don't bother. Poorly run and very rude people working there. I had never been to Massachusetts before and came up with a friend and we stopped here on our way to Marlboro. I regret that decision. I was called a name by a staff member and he denied it. We were so outraged that we left immediately. Do not go here read more

Ive been into this liquor store a few times since they changed ownership. They have a decent selection of beer and wine and the prices are reasonable. However, the employees make me uncomfortable. I witnessed a male employee yelling at the young girl behind the register. Seriously unprofessional to do that in front of customers. If you look at their other Yelp reviews they apparently treat their customers like that too. Going forward I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

My name is Suzana . I asked hubby to stop so we could pick up a bottle of my fav wine to bring to besties house party . Hubby came back to car empty handed , i asked him did you forget your wallet ? He said that the lady behind the register was a doll but the scruffy looking guy that came out of the room was a nitemare and he would never step foot in that place again because of his negative attitude . Im like WHAT ? "He said i had an accent and couldnt pronounce the product i was searching for and told me to leave " . Just wanted locals to beware ! Bad place to shop . . . . read more

I was visiting my mom when my friend Drex called me from Chicago. "I have a huge favor to ask", he said. I grabbed my pencil. "Yes?" Pencil ready I started jotting down the request. "I need you to do something for me." Yes, that's a favor, I thought. "This is a big favor!" OK already. I get that. I'm willing to walk across coals for you, my friend. Or donate plasma. Whatever you are asking can't be that big. "Can you bring me back some Long Trail?" Ahhh Long Trail. One of Vermont's finest brews, White River Junction's best beer. Sadly, Long Trail (and dozens of other fine, fine potables) is not available in Chicago. And for a thirsty New Englander like Drex, who goes back east only a couple times a year, Long Trail is a nostalgic taste of home. I headed my car in the direction of Kappy's, Sudbury's best liquor outlet. I walked in the door, grabbed a cart and began to navigate the shop's somewhat narrow aisles. And there it was (of course), gleaming, on a shelf, somewhat obscured by cases of Bud. Long Trail! The holy grail of Vermont beers. I grabbed three sixers of LTA and three sixers of Double Bag (aww, lookit the cute cows on the package! Aw!). $8.99 ea. Including deposit. I walked up to the register and was greeted by two friendly (imagine that!) cashiers who were oohing and ahhing at my dogs, who were in the car waiting for me. They asked a few questions about the dog and...didn't ID me! Good lord, there was a sign up front saying that everyone would be ID'd! Did I look old, haggard, terrible? I decided they 'forgot' to ID me because they were so focused on the dogs. But I know the truth. At almost 40, I am beginning to look old. Sigh. read more

My boyfriend and I stopped in to buy a 6-pack of Kirin Ichiban (not the cheapest beer) and a $20 bottle of Pinacle vodka. After a mere sentence and glare from the cashier (a large, rotund man, dark hair, a mustache maybe) we chose to walk out and never return. I have never been treated so rudely in my life and I actually began crying in the parking lot. I will never shop at this Kappy's again and neither will any of my friends or family. We were actually planning on making very big purchases for our 4th of July event we hold every year. We will go to a better store. read more

MONEY!!! This place has an AWESOME selection and well priced. It can be a bit overwhelming- they are soooo well stocked. Very helpful staff, and they know their stuff. We found our St. Germaine at a decent price and were really happy to find high quality potions for our cocktails. Lots and lots of VINO. Take your time. read more

Never again. I've been shopping here regularly since the current owners bought the place, but I just had an awful experience and will never set foot in there again. I went in to return wine I recently bought that was obviously bad (most likely improperly stored). The owner got nasty, and I mean nasty, right away. He lectured me because I bought it two weeks ago (It's wine, not supposed to be perishable), he told me he had just stocked them (the label had the shop's old name, which he changed at least a year ago, maybe two), and told me he would never again honor his product unless it was returned the next day with a receipt. I just left the box and walked out. read more

Never again. I went to the Sudbury, MA location today to stock up. There were two people restocking--one with his mask pulled all the way down and another with it pulled down under his nose. Another customer told the one with his mask off that he should have it on. He pulled it up over his face, said sorry, and then took it off again as she was leaving the store. So, in short, the employees at Danny's don't give a crap if they get infected or infect the customers. read more

Don't go here! I was checking out and I had the most lovely cashier woman help me, but the owner kept making fun of her and saying extremely rude comments IN FRONT OF ME, A CUSTOMER. Not sure what the deal is with him and his employee, but that only showed a lack of professionalism on his part. Also, I was buying Kosher wine and I heard questionable mutterings about that fact. If this is how the owner is, it gives me no reason to trust anything this place does. read more

Don't shop here !!!!! The owner/managers are rude and pushy to not only to the employees but the customers as well. The prices aren't anything special. The is dirty read more

I won't shop here again. I don't know if it ls the owner or the manager but I was shopping here with my child when he got into an argument with someone in the store and was using all sorts of profanity. Not what I want my kid to here when I'm in grabbing a bottle of wine. I'll be going to Sudbury wine from now on. read more

Worst costumer service ever! I have never felt more uncomfortable in my life. The manager is extremely rude. He has that attitude that doesn't care if costumers bring their business somewhere else. And that exactly what I'll be doing. Dont go in there not worth your time. read more

I met the owner, who said his name is Jooan and that he is a Kurd from Syria. I asked for Passover wine and he led me to the shelves. Quite a good selection. He sold our synagogue the wine and beer for our concert last week at a very good price and he said he is happy to help local temples and churches. He was gracious and helpful. read more

I went into Kappy's to shop for a craft beer tasting party that I was going to. It took less than 2 minutes of me looking before their "beer guy" came over and asked if I needed help. I told him that I don't purchase beer very often and I had no idea what to get. He helped me find the perfect selections. Definitely go to Kappy's if you need specialized help. I heard they have a "scotch guy" too! read more

Great selection of wines and spirits. Friendly, helpful staff. Good prices. Highly recommended for anyone shopping in the Sudbury area.

This places used to have people who knew what customer service was all about. Now it's just a group of extremely rude and unwelcoming people! Stop here to pick up some fisher islands lemonades, I even called ahead to make sure they had some(which they did). At check out my total bill was $110 and change. I didn't bring my credit card, but they offer Apple pay ( or so they posted they did) after trying 3 times to pay with Apple Pay the cashier states that "the machine sometimes doesn't work" So I left without being able to purchase anything. I called the store to speak to whoever sits in the corner crows nest. I explained to him what had just happened and his reply was "well the machine worked fine all day long not my problem " and hung up without giving me an opportunity to say anything....I've been coming here off and on for over 10 years, sometimes spending $400 or more at a time. Never again. I'll stay going to Marlborough and Framingham read more

Best place to buy wine! Huge selection and very reasonable prices. The staff are super nice and extremely helpful. If you are hosting a party and need wine, they can help you to find exactly what you need. This is by far my favorite wine store, and I tell everyone about it! read more

Great little place to get good Cali wine on the cheap. I go there every time I am in town.

Some of the worst customer service I've ever had, I can't even believe that one of the cashiers spoke to me with such a condescending, downright nasty attitude. If you're looking for friendly service in a small town liquor store, this is not the place for you. Avoid it at all costs and go somewhere else, like Gordon's in Waltham, or Marty's Fine Wines in Newton. read more

Staff are condescending and rude. Every time I've gone in I have been treated as if I'm somehow trying to "trick" them into selling to me (I'm a young looking 23.) I've never asked for advice, but have been treated very rudely by the cashier and manager. In the end I'll drive a bit further and deal with less attitude. As an aside -- if you have an out-of-state license you can forget about it. Doesn't matter if you're 25 or 55, they probably will flat-out refuse to sell to you. read more

Kappy's is dishonest! I was in line today behind an elderly gentleman trying to buy a gallon jug of "Tawny Port" wine with a price tag of $5.99. The female clerk said "Sorry, this is mismarked. It's really $17.99" He objected and his son reminded the clerk of the law in Massachusetts that they had to honor the price marked. The incredibly rude clerk said "That's tough, do you want it for $17.99 or not?" The old man said "No, and I'm never shopping here again" and the rude woman said "That's okay, we have plenty of other customers." This was the most blatant thievery I every saw. They practically extorted the old guy. I was glad to see them walk out, and I did the same. DON'T SHOP HERE unless you are willing to be victimized. read more

I am an avid beer drinker and enjoy trying new and different brews. Kappy's maintains a better than average selection of beers and they are convenient to me, which is why I have been a regular visitor for many years. NO MORE! Almost without exception each visit requires me to seek out an employee to help with the bottle return process because either their return machines are broken or full or do not accept bottles which they should. I don't expect the machines to work perfectly, but I do expect them to work much better than they currently do. The last straw was today when I arrived, not only were ALL of their machines out of order, but when I asked for a manual credit slip, a manager told me that he would not have his employees wasting their time helping me with that! What?! That is horrid customer service and that manager should be ashamed of his behavior. The not so subtle implication is that their time is worth more than my time and if I don't like it then I can go elsewhere. So that's what I am doing. So long Kappy's. What would have taken you 2 minutes has cost you thousands of dollars in sales. Nice work! read more
