It had been a few years since our last visit to Danny Boy's Pizza in Broadview Heights, and after this meal we were all wondering why we had waited so long to come back! From the friendly wait staff to the excellent food, everything was wonderful. My husband ordered The Believe-land Pie featuring a medium traditional crust. It was loaded with crispy pepperoni, a five-cheese blend, herbs, garlic, and topped with the sauce. Every bite was packed with flavor, from the perfectly cooked crust to the delicious sauce and crispy pepperoni. I tried a piece as well since he was raving about it. Easily one of the best pizzas we've had in a while. My son had a small House Caesar Salad, which was fresh and crisp with romaine, Parmesan, croutons, and Caesar dressing. I ordered the Bistro Chicken Salad, and it had cranberries, candied walnuts, tomatoes, apples, goat cheese, citrus chicken, and a side of balsamic vinaigrette. It was a generous portion, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The combination of sweet, savory, and tangy flavors worked perfectly together. For dessert, we shared the Tiramisu, and it was hands down the best I've ever had. Every bite was rich, creamy, and full of flavor. The slice was huge and perfect for sharing. This visit reminded us how much we enjoy Danny Boy's. Great service, excellent food, and a welcoming atmosphere, we won't wait so long before coming back again! read more

Came in on a Tuesday for lunch. Was the only one in the store. The service was very fast and friendly, no complaints there, although I ordered the half chicken Parm and received a full. No big deal, I'll just take home the leftovers. The chicken itself was good sized and very nicely breaded. However, it lacked a good amount of sauce and a good amount of cheese. The spaghetti was nothing to brag about, nor was the overall red sauce, which was a bit runny. I was also disappointed that the Parmesan came in little foil packets like the crap you get from Domino's. The role that they serve the dish with was outstanding. Had lunch on Tuesday. They open at 12 noon. Restaurant was so cold we had to eat with our jackets on the entire time. Didn't feel any heat until we were about to leave. Ordered chicken parmesan; it was awful. Chicken was overcooked and was so hard around the edges, I couldn't cut it. I should have sent it back. Don't know what I was thinking! Don't waste your money! Also, waitress was rather snippy. She seemed like she did not want to be there. This was not the first time I had been there, other times food was good. Came for dinner, server was nice but busy. We ordered two pizzas, a Chicago deep dish that was the better tasting of the two pizzas, better sauce with a thick layer of sausage. The pepperoni pizza was just okay, toppings were not a lot and not evenly distributed and one half looked like they were missing , not a good ratio of cheese /topping/crust, server also didn't say there was an extra charge for heavy sauce so surprised by that. I went to your Broadview Heights location on 8/16 at 8:27pm. Online it says you are open until 10 pm. On the door it says closing at 9pm for maintenance?! On a Saturday night!? We were there 32 minutes prior to that but yet turned away because of maintenance or cleaning. Maybe you should update your sign then. We have been unimpressed but thought we would try again. While the food was good, the service was subpar. We were a party of 9 adults and 4 children. A Sunday afternoon with only a few other tables of 4 patrons. It took two hours and 10 minutes from start to finish to get our food and finish eating. The appetizers came out without an issue. The entrees came out one at a time with 5 minutes or more between them being served. The large calzone came out last and everyone was done eating my then. There were also issues with serving a dressing that one of us was allergic to. Drink orders were very slow in coming. Overall a very frustrating experience. Not going back. I will stick with Danny Boys in Rocky River. I did call and speak with the manager before posting this review and she was very defensive. Let me say this...it's just meh! Met some friends for dinner. Been to a few other Danny Boy locations. Had good experiences. This one is just meh. We each got something g different. I got a margarita pizza, zucchini fries, Delano pasta, chicken parm, and chicken pasta-forgot name. Zucchini fries were meh. For price we did not get a lot. Pizza was ok. Chicken parm came with not a lot of sauce. Chicken pasta was not flavorful and needed more sauce as well. Everything was just meh. That's the best way I can describe it. Nothing great. Staff is nice. Prices mediocre. It's own arming lot. Place is big and can accommodate lots of people. But I am sure there is a better experience someplace else. read more

I was nervous coming in because of the other reviews but we had a party of 10 last minute so pickings were slim and Danny Boy said they could seat us right away. I actually thought the food was decent and the service was very nice and pretty much on top of it the entire time, which isn't easy with a group of 10 Italians who haven't seen each other in a while. The restaurant is steamed around Frank Sinatra and so there's a lot of fun knods to him on the menu as well as lots of photos and memorabilia on the wall. Everything we ate: FRIED PROVOLONE TRIANGLES (Six breaded provolone triangles, French fries, side pizza sauce) I mean this could be a meal in and of itself. I'm not used to seeing fried cheese be anything but mozzarella so this was a fun surprise. It made for some seriously epic cheese pulls PARMESAN CHICKEN WOOGIE (A rolled calzone with ricotta cheese, choose grilled or breaded chicken, light pizza sauce, parmesan and five-cheese blend. Side of pizza sauce). It comes with chips but I subbed them for beer rub tots and it made for a tasty meal! Super cheesy and flavorful. The tots are worth getting all on their own. ITALIAN COBB SALAD (Sliced ham, chopped pepperoni and salami, sliced green olives, banana peppers, crumbled bleu cheese. Side of Italian dressing.) super refreshing salad. We got a half size but it was still hearty enough to feed 2 people ITALIAN PIEROGIES (Potato and cheese pierogies, Italian sausage, onions, green and red peppers, served with marinara). So good! The pierogis were really tasty but the sausage and peppers really shone here. Also came with a side of pizza dough and it was delicious. The rest of our group ordered a couple pastas, a build-your-own pizza, and fish and chips and while they all said they enjoyed their food, I didn't try any of it so can't speak to it. 03/08/2023 The food was good, particularly like to go on Wednesday as it's Woogie day. What's a Woogie you say, it's a small Calzone. I really like the asparagus salad, and others like the Philly Cheese Steak. The service was good, and even though they don't have Anchovies listed on their pizza items, if you bring a can of them they will make a great pizza. My friend likes NY style and I like Chicago style myself. I liked mine, but the NY guy says to much bread. My wife like (in my thinking) a cracker with pizza sauce. Large party on a Sunday night. Seated immediately. Good service. HUGE menu. Slightly overwhelming for a newbie. Thankful for the emblems on the menu that indicated house specialties. Huge portions. I ordered the Tony Soprano expecting a meatball sub and it was a spaghetti sub. I have to say it was not what I wanted but still really good. Jojo potatoes were delish! I will say my food was cold when it came out. They made me new potatoes and I'm glad I asked. My mom and sister ordered the broken lasagna and both took half of the half order home. My 15 year son had a You're the Boss Woozie. He loved it. Both kids loved the Cajun fries. They have a nice "patio" converted from their parking lot off the front. Service was very good, attentive and friendly. The food is Applebee's style, hearty portions but bland. I've been here a couple times and I've found the food to be excellent. The pizza is quality but nothing earth shattering. I think the other items on the menu are bigger stand outs. I ESPECIALLY recommend their gluten free pizza! I have had many, many gluten free pizzas (oh dear indeed lol) and the crust on these from Danny Boys is so so good. First time visit for me , second for husband . My husband got a pizza , which he enjoyed more this time , then he did on his other visit ( it was same kind ) . He said the first pizza wasn't bad this one was just better for some reason . I got the Italian Pierogies which I really enjoyed . It sounded Intriguing to me so I had to try it . I love Pierogies but wouldn't have believed they would be that good in Mariana sauce with sausage and perfectly cooked peppers and onions . I'm have been a customer of Danny Boys since it opened in Broadview Heights. Tonight will be the last time we go there. My husband and I simply ordered a pizza and each had 2 drinks. The first pizza they brought out was limp at best and nothing but sauce. I have never sent anything back there, whether I was happy with it or not, but what they served us was absolutely ridiculous. They said it was a new cook and said they would replace it. I asked for a simple mushroom/pepperoni as a replacement. We waited for over an hour and finally I asked if they could cash us out. Miraculously the pizza appeared boxed with the check. I couldn't believe they charged us $60. Sadly you lost a customer who was always in your corner. read more

We decided to give Danny Boy's another shot after disappointing service a few years back. Big mistake. I called several days ago to ensure that they did not have egg in their pizza dough because my daughter has an egg allergy. My extended family and I then visited in Father's Day only to discover their pizza dough does have egg. I'm glad someone double checked but we then had to leave and had no back up dinner plans because of their negligence. Food allergies are not uncommon and can be quite dangerous. The staff needs to be educated on this topic. read more

Went to Danny Boy's with some friends on Friday for the Frank and Dean show. This was the 3rd time I've been there. I decided to order the fish fry. After about 20 minutes everyone else received their orders. I did not. About 5 minutes later the server came to the table and asked how everything was. She then noticed I had not received my order. She said she would check on it. After another 5 minutes or so I got my order. The fish were not hot. They were luke warm at best. Also they were sitting in a pool of oil. I put a clean napkin underneath them and the entire napkin was immediately soaked through. Either the oil in which they were deep fried wasn't hot enough or they were not allowed time to drain properly. Either way they were not very good. When the server came back I pointed it out to her. No apology. She simply said she could place another order for some fresh fish. I declined since I had waited so long and the show was about to start. I simply scraped off the oil soaked breading and ate the fish. The others at the table were pleased with their food. I would certainly not recommend the fish fry. UPDATE. 'Owner' replied to my review and asked me to contact him. I declined. As I wrote to him - after three bad experiences I would prefer just to avoid this place. Just my personal decision. read more

Ok, I admit it. I'm a snob. I like the whole locally sourced, independently owned, anti-franchise, urban renewal, blahdeyblah. When I drove by Danny Boys, I honestly didn't think that I was going to like it. I mean, where is the minimalist exposed brick and terse waitstaff? That and there is wayyy too much ample parking for my taste! Danny Boys really blew me away though. It's large, has an open bar and open feeling, lots of TVs, lots of fun kitsch on the walls....and I haven't even gotten to the food yet! They have a huge menu with about anything you could think of. We ordered an appetizer pizza with ricotta, mushrooms and spinach. It was delicious and the size was much larger than what I'd expected under the "appetizer pizza" menu. My bf got the Tony Soprano (spaghetti, meatballs, on a sub bun) and I got a brisket turnover with pub cheese sauce. We left full and happy and I asked for another cup of that cheese sauce because (*explicative*) it was awesome! (Side note: I've been trying to figure out what's in it for days...please Danny Boys...I must know!) Our server Brando (Really? Come on!) was on top of things, despite being short staffed. He kept our respective drinks full and was absolutely engaging! I also want to add just how fun it was to see the place packed, with lots of families and balloon hats. Would describe it as Italian-American comfort food. Definitely a fan of the appetizers, the Italian pierogis were very tasty, basically potato pierogis served like ravioli. Their meatballs are tasty too. Was a little disappointed with their take on chicago style pizza, would have liked it to be a little deeper with more sauce. The single large sausage patty topping is interesting. I would probably try a different pizza on a return visit. read more

Every Danny Boy's we've been to has been great. It is my favorite pizza place in the Cleveland area. My wife and I first visited the Rocky River one when we were dating and I lived in Lakewood. I love and the Sinatra decor. Then when we lived on the far east side we'd make the drive for a treat. We now live in the south east suburbs and visit this location as we can. My only wish is that there was one closer! We recently discovered the honey bee pizza and it became a new favorite. Holy cow. Back in the day the breadsticks were free and of course they are not anymore, but we still order some for the table (although, alas, they don't go as far anymore with three kids). And the sauce.... The SAUCE! It is the best! I've not bought a jar to make homemade pizza with but I am going to next time we're in. The Rocky River location is probably my favorite for the ambiance and for nostalgia's sake but this location is the one we go to the most and there's lots of space. Usually not too long of a wait despite how full it can be. We just need one closer with the same great atmosphere! The absolute best. read more

Stopped in for lunch for the first time. I was greeted promptly by Judy. She asked for my seating preference and if I was aware of the daily specials, which I was not so she explained them and gave me some time to review the menu. She waited for me to set the menu down and and approached immediately. Explained how the order was normally prepared and asked for my preference. Meal was delivered promptly and freshly cooked. She checked back in shortly to make sure all was as expected. Overall Judy provided the best service I've had in a long time - excellent job! All that great service and I only ordered a burger with Onion rings! The burger was prepared as requested and had an excellent flavor. The onion rings also didn't disappoint as they were also perfectly prepared. Easy to find plenty of parking and even though a bit worn down it was very clean and I felt comfortable wearing a sports coat but could have worn jeans and a T-shirt. I will go back. read more

She was very unattentative, however payed plenty of attention to a table seated behind us. Upon noticing my disgust he apologized saying they were short a server. My question is if that was the case please tell me in advance so I have the opption of going else where or choosing bad service. Which again was NOT across the board in the restaurant, others were served promptly. I ordered a salad and my husband ordered a pizza, we waited an additional 30 minutes for our food.
