All of the doctors there are totally top notch and I found Dr. Karan Munuswamy to be one of those best of all doctors. My legs filled with fluid so bad I could hardly even walk. Then, as I couldn't find any shoes to fit, I basically became housebound. At the time we really weren't sure what was going on, but I had a dinner party at which there were three medical doctors as guests. By the way and as a tip, doctors make the worst party guests because no matter what, medical stuff becomes a topic of conversation. However for me it was good as with one look at my legs all three of them descended upon me demanding I see a cardiologist immediately which is what brought me to meet Dr. Munuswamy. On first visit he carefully examined me, gave me an electrocardiogram and set me up for other tests in order to find the problem. After each test he promptly phoned me with the results. It all just turned out that I had an adverse reaction to a prescribed medication. I couldn't have asked for better or more concerned treatment and fortunately find that I had no cardiology problems. All that was need was a change in medication. So it's with my thanks and a Yelp Five Stars for Dr. Munuswamy.

Yesterday, I visited him because I had an abnormal EKG result from another provider that really concerned and frightened me. He and his staff spent so much time with me and showed such kindness. Consider yourself fortunate if you are able to become one of his patients. He will make your journey as pleasant as possible regardless of your situation or the forecasted outcome... Pleasant, Professional and Patient seems to be the theme permeating this office. But I was seen first by his P.A. or Nurse Practitioner, Annie, who conducted an initial in-depth assessment, thoroughly reviewing my situation and history and asking pertinent questions. AND she was, unsurprisingly, pleasant, professional and patient. Having been aware of Dr. Chizner's training and accomplishments I expected to be a bit intimidated, but despite the white-coat-syndrome-on-steroids with all the pros in their white coats, I was comfortable with him from the start. It was interesting to see the teaching that was going on as he conducted his assessment and it was clear that he has great rapport with his students as he frequently made eye contact with them to highlight a point or observation. The bottom line is that virtually immediately he identified the likely cause of my complaints which have persisted for years. No tests, no labs, no scans. Just simply his inquiry into my symptoms and history. This after the previous usual suspects of echo's, ekgs and so on having been inflicted on me which provided no guidance into explaining my situation. I'd be remiss if I didn't recognize Alicia, the young lady at the front desk who also fields the phone calls. She is, you guessed it, very pleasant, patient and professional at what she does AND helpful. I should also mention that there was never any hint of any time constraints.

This is a long overdue review of one my physicians, cardiologist Thomas Bartzokis. Some of those…read morewho follow me on Yelp think it's funny that I submit reviews of medical providers rather than focusing on restaurants. (These days of COVID-19, I have not been to a restaurant since February 2020). And then there are others who thank me for such reviews, and have found the information useful and have even consulted with the physician, when a need arose, based on such a review. So I continue to post them as a service to those who find them of value. I've been a patient of Bartzokis for 15 years and he continues to impress me with his thorough and conservative approach to the practice of cardiology. Harvard trained, as are several of his partners in this practice, he's an astute clinician and importantly, is sensitive to the psychological as well as medical aspects of cardiac disease. As an example, I have A-fib, which is controlled by several medications. When I've had some challenging times when the A-fib was "acting up" and not in good control, Dr B. Has counseled me that my condition is annoying and can be frightening, but that it is not fatal. Such advice has helped me through some tough times. His practice is comprehensive, in addition to routine EKG's, echo cardiograms and stress tests are performed "in house". This includes stress tests which do not require running on a tread mill, but use a drug to mimic a reaction (nuclear stress test). He has been my physician when I've had hospitalizations, has provided medical clearance when needed prior to surgery, especially related to the need to temporarily discontinue critical blood thinners before and after surgery. This is a busy practice with 5 cardiologists, and the office can sometimes be quite hectic. And getting an appointment can sometimes be a challenge based on scheduling demands, I've discovered how to navigate through the practice to meet my needs. Over the years the support staff have varied between those who are a bit abrupt and those who show concern and are efficient in addressing your needs. I would imagine that most individuals seeking the care of a cardiologist would obtain a referral from their primary care physician, and not consult Yelp, quite frankly. But since I feel strongly that Bartzokis is an outstanding cardiologist, for those who might be wondering about him after receiving a referral or find this review by accident, I have no qualms submitting it. Stay safe and take all your medications, Yelp friends. Make sure you know what your blood pressure is and should be, don't ignore chest pain or irregular heart rhythms, and continue to live a full life.

I always waited at least 1 hour ( sometimes an hour and half ) to actually see Dr Waskins even though I never seen more than 2 people waiting and no one in the rooms. I never felt like a patient , always had issues for simplistic refills and was put in a very dangerous position by Meagan with a med that had been prescribed to me for over 20 years , she stated she would NOT refill I would need to seek other assistance when I was literally having panic attacks with no meds. I truly believe they have "god complex's" and should not be practicing . I was also told I would not be seen by their office anymore when attempting to obtain an appointment so I am now again in a precarious position thanks to them, Every time I did need care due to tests results or issues I was deferred to other Dr's , always shuffling the actual care and responsibility to someone else, as far as I'm concerned they really only operate for the insurance angle , always tests tests even though I have blood work done by 3 different Dr's I was forced to pay for visits every 3 months and blood work even though I literally just had done with others , Insurance whores !
