A few of the coaches are kind to the children but most are irritated at best. One made my child cry on the first day by telling her to get out of her class and wouldn't help her find the right group. The next coach was more involved but wouldn't really explain how to execute moves, which was pointless really. The manager seemed fine. The facility is pretty well stocked with equipment, but very dirty and smells terrible especially for how much they take in a month for tuition. Won't be coming back. read more

I signed up for the trial and overall experience is just blah. My child spent the first 10 minutes running all over the place. The coach they stuck her with looks like she just finished high school. There are 6 kids in her group and 1 coach but it's a lot of socializing and running all over the place. Similar to being in Jump Time. If you want serious gymnastics this is not the best place for your child. I have yet to see the coach work with her on form. Too many kids and the coaches cannot work individually with each student. I could do this in my bed with some pillows. Not worth the price. The coach was just standing around watching the kiddies jump on a foam pit. I'm pretty sure they have a mosquito problem too, I kept getting bites and I have 7 around all over my body and I'm just sitting on the chair by the bathroom. Danik is great for open gym since it's avaliable, but for gymnastics who want to be coached to advance their skills, this is not the place. I was a gymnast here a couple years back and only went here for a few months because I did not get along with my coach. She was very mean and verbally abusive. Fast forward to today and I'm a coach at another gym and we have received a couple of JO Danik gymnasts and multiple lower level danik gymnasts who did not like Danik due to their coaches, the lack of skill advancement, and because the coaches are standing around and talking instead of coaching. Most gymnasts we received from Danik consistently have a large variety of skills but terrible form. read more

If your a competitive boys gymnast stay away from this facility. The lead coach is mean and verbally abusive. His assistant coach is nice and very encouraging. The lead coach ruins it for this gym. He may have a team that is successful but to the detriment of the boys. You don't have to be mean and verbally abusive to get kids to perform well. read more

Danik is working very well for both our kids, they are at gymnastics for a long time and have a great workout every day, a lot of good communication with other kids in the Team! Competitions season is so fun, a lot of traveling to the other states like California, Texas, Washington, Arizona! Our experience here has been okay. It just seems like this place has way too many kids with young teens teaching them with no person in charge and no real direction for kids advancing or reaching goals. Today is their spring showcase and there is no owner here to even see how to goes or see how poorly organized/run it seems. Way too many kids. The girls are in lines of 15 waiting forever for their turn to do something. It just feels like this place is happy to take your money but no one has a genuine interest in if your child is advancing to the next skill/level. read more

Very overcrowded! Felt like the Groupon of gymnastics. The coaches are too busy standing around chatting to actually help the students.

We tried this place on a recommendation as our daughter just started gymnastics. The woman at the front desk is BEYOND rude. She has treated us like we are a complete inconvenience any time we ask questions or even email. She also doesn't know the answer to many questions and is annoyed if she has to get up to ask. The instruction seems to be ok if you get the right instructor and insist on keeping him/her. This is more of a fight than I am willing to do for entry level gymnastics. I understand that they have incredible teams at the older level, but if they don't start taking care of NEW customers now, I can't see this place lasting much longer. Clean up the attitude at the front desk and it would make a world of difference. read more

This gym is well equipped and a great variety of classes. One problem is they offer too many classes at one time. The gym floor can be crowded, not enough seating for parents and the parking is HORRIBLE! Some instructors are great and the others lack an interest in their job. It's hit and miss what type of instructor you'll get. I just found out this summer that you're suppose to let them know to stop your automatic withdrawal at the end of the season. Why wouldn't it just stop when the classes stop in May!!! I didn't realize this until the middle of July! When I called I only got reimbursed for one of those months. The receptionist told me they posted signs and handed out fliers letting parents know to cancel their accounts at the end of the season but my child stopped going the middle of April so we never saw the notices. Again, not sure why it just doesn't stop when the classes stop. Maybe trying to catch parents like myself that don't realize this and that way they can keep getting the money! SHADY!!! read more

Our daughter started out in recreational classes at Danik last year, and when team try out announcements were made, she wanted to try. She made it to the Level 1 team. On the first day of practice for the team, I drove my daughter to drop her off. (We were told that it's preferred that parents do not stay.) My daughter was 6, so I didn't feel comfortable dropping her off without knowing where to send her. We waited and waited in the sitting area, with no one coming over to instruct us where to go. I had to get back to work (practice was in the morning during the summer, and luckily I work from home so I could drop her off). Finally, I took off my shoes and tried to walk her over to a coach in the work out area. As I am walking with her, I get yelled at, "Are you a parent? You need to go wait over there." That did not sit well with me. I complained to the head coach later via email; turns out she was the one who I had the interaction with. To make a long story short, pretty much our entire time on the team went like that. We had very little communication with the coaches--it was all done via email, and never in person. Our daughter had some behavior issues during practice, and we were not told about it until months later. The woman at the front desk is not helpful at all and looks and acts like she hates her job. I'm not sure why the folks at Danik don't treat their clients better. To Danik's credit, they do seem to win a lot of competitions, so the coaches obviously know their stuff. We had a couple of personal coaching sessions, and that coach was so lovely and helpful to our daughter. But all in all, the communication is just absolutely horrible. We changed gyms, my daughter is on the team, and she is thriving. She enjoys it so much, and so do we. I have talked to more people (front desk, coaches) in just three weeks than I have in a year at Danik. Danik is just not the place for us. If your child is going for a college scholarship or wants to be in the olympics, then I would suggest Danik. If she wants to have fun, perhaps it's not the right place for you either. read more

We usually come here during Friday's because they have open play for $5 per kid. Great place to get the jiggles out! You can hang out by the sides to watch the kids from afar but I suggest to go with your kids to watch them close. Open play starts at 10 and ends at 12 so come as soon as they open so you get most of your time. I just hope they have some more adult supervising on every area to help out the kids. read more

I've been to a lot of gyms, but this one is huge and really well-equipped. I can't speak to their lessons, but the open-gym time is pretty sweet! They don't charge a lot, and they give you access to most of their gym and equipment. The only downside is that certain things like the foam pit and the trampolines can get pretty crowded, but there are plenty of other things to use besides those. The lady at their front desk on 1/16/2018 is probably the rudest person I have ever met. We went in to try out the gym and she acted like she was being bothered. She was very unfriendly and no help whatsoever. When I asked about classes she rudely told me to ask the instructor who was already busy with her next class. The instructor inside was super nice and great with the kids but if you have any questions or have to deal with the front desk witch it's not worth your money. read more

Was looking for a nice clean place to sign my daughter up for gymnastics. Went to Danik for a trial class. First of all the older lady at the front is not friendly what so ever. But I can look past that. During my daughters class I saw something out of the corner of my eye and it was a mouse. YUCK!! The other moms saw it to and we told the instructor and she acted as if it was a normal occurrence. Then we notice a mouse trap right by the door where the kids Go in and out. (One of the one where the trap snaps down, which is not safe with little kids around!) My son loves the parkour class and the instructors. Seems like a great class to get some good coaching and improve his skills. However, the lady at the front desk was somethings else. She obviously doesn't like her job and does not prefer to have any human interaction. I don't write reviews often, but felt Danik needed to know they are hindering their business by keeping this lady as their face of the company. Every interaction I've had with her is obviously a nuisance. I hope the people who own Danik reads the reviews and does something about it. The girls' competitive team coaches are focused on winning, which is good. Many are bullies, though, and the top gymnasts leave for gyms that use positive and professional methods to get results. Unfortunately, there's not much else in Meridian. If you're considering competition, then look closely at several coaching sessions and speak to some of the parents who have been there for awhile, before making a decision. The daily grind is difficult enough, without having the love of the sport ground down by poor coaching. read more

Had my daughter in tumbling here for two year and the program really went down hill. The coaches were changing constantly and getting worse and worse, and the class size got larger. Toward the end, my daughter would sit idle for up to 15 minutes of the hour-long class, while the 2 coaches would work with one person in the class. My daughter's skills have barely advanced at all in the two years. I finally left the gym after I watched my daughter do another girls hair for 17 minutes, as the coaches ignored her and most of the class while they worked with one girl. And no one seems to be overseeing the coaching! I do not recommend. read more

Danik is awesome. I've seen a lot of growth in the last five years as their junior olympic programs have really grown to be quite impressive. This review focuses on the competitive team. Comparing gyms can be difficult, but if you're looking for excellence, Danik has consistently been scoring very high for years. One of Danik's main differentiators is that most of their best gymnasts were trained either exclusively or primarily at Danik rather than simply being recruited from other gyms once they were already good. Danik's coaching staff is tough in practice, but coaches care deeply about the gymnasts. Danik is for Idaho's serious gymnasts who want to be national contenders rather than just local Idaho stars. read more

The woman at the front desk is far less than friendly. Acted like she couldn't be bothered to take us to the correct place when I brought my daughter for a trial class. She neglected to inform me that it was the last week of summer classes, and the gym was absolutely nuts. No room for parents to stand and watch. Kids running all over the mats in all directions. No real start time- people just started jumping on equipment and we made our way to the correct group after they had started, even though we were there 20 minutes early. I'll look for a more organized place with a little more supervision and oversight. This may be a good gym for an older kid, but it is not equipped for a younger kid at all. read more

I'd first like to say how amazing Coach Amanda is! She was my daughters coach for summer classes, for a few weeks. She recently moved to the advanced class and we are definitely missing her. She was great at giving the students direction and correcting any mistakes in a nice/gentle manner. The two girls that took over for Amanda don't seem to enjoy their jobs much. They sit and chit chat with each other during most of the class. There is minimal instruction/direction to the students. They aren't very good with young children, based off of the interactions I have seen between them and the students. They talk down to them and make them feel dumb, if they can't get something right the first time. I feel like they need to focus more on the kids, rather then catching up on their gossip. My daughter use to leave feeling good about herself. But since the new girls have started coaching, she leaves feeling down, if she couldn't get something right the first time trying. The gal at the front desk is not very friendly either. She always seems to busy to help, and annoyed with everyone but I believe that is her only job. Basically customer service. She talks to you like you should know how things are run within the building. God forbid you ask her a question. You will get attitude, no matter what your inquiry is about. I was glad to learn it wasn't just me she spoke to like that. The facility is big and has a lot of equipment. It's a bit muggy in the building, most of the time. And definitely come early if you want a chair. I usually just park on Watertower St, because the parking lot is almost always packed. read more
