Made an appointment to get filling that fell out replaced. I explained when making the appointment…read morethat I was seeking a dentist due to my previous dentist moving and dropped off the in-network roster of my insurer. I said that I needed work done but my immediate need was to repair the tooth in question after which I would need to continue with other work. The appointment was made believing that the tooth would be repaired at that visit as it was giving me problems with some pain although I wouldn't call it continuing intense pain. I then phoned my insurer to verify the dentists were in-network providers on my plan. The two listed were. The day before the appointment I received a phone call from the practice from another person who left a voice mail about the appointment and to arrive 15 minutes early for paperwork. This person identified themself as "dr." When I heard the voice mail I became concerned that I had never saw that name on the list of in-network providers from my insurer. After phoning my insurer and finding that no such person was on their in-network roster, I attempted to phone the practice to make sure I would see one of the in-network providers at my appointment. A recording informed me that everyone was busy but if I left a message they would return my call. I never received a call and my appointment was for the next morning. I phoned the next morning with my question and was told I was only receiving a cleaning and exam at my appointment. I informed the person that, when making my appointment it was my understanding that my immediate problem would be addressed at this visit. I was told that their standard practice was cleaning, exam and prepare a treatment plan at this appointment and schedule another for treatment. That was neither my understanding nor my need which I tried to convey to the person who very clearly had little interest in what I had to say. While not belligerent, she was not very pleasant to speak with as there were numerous silent stretches to be followed by repeating things she had already stated with never an effort to understand what I was saying or attempting to address any concerns other than continuing to repeat herself. There was no attempt at answering my questions or to address my concerns. I was continually asked whether I wanted to keep or cancel my appointment but could not find out why what I was told when making the appointment, that the tooth that I needed repaired would be done. I stated that I absolutely wished to keep the appointment as I needed the repair to be done but I was not willing to waste my time and money to keep an appointment that the service I was told I would get would actually happen. I was disappointed that I was unable to get the service I was told I would get and that I expected and that I now have to start this process over again. But regardless of the care I may have gotten, the process of getting that service was too uncertain and certainly too frustrating to tolerate.

I've now been a patient for several years and I hope I never have to switch. Dr Ravin is a very…read morecompetent dentist, and she does not over-treat. If she tells me that I need a filling, I believe it-- because she does the minimum amount she can do, generally, and she believes in wait-and-see for minor problems. She's professional but not overly friendly, so if you're used to very warm, reassuring dentists who spend a lot of time chatting, you may need some time to get used to Dr Ravin. She checks your teeth, gives you a straightforward report, and you leave. She treats me, my husband, and our six year old son. She doesn't just automatically take x-rays "because your insurance will pay for it" as many dentists do (even though the ADA recommends against routine X-rays, especially for children). I trust her completely.

While I must say the first visits were a bit skeptical, being that the receptionist was also the lady who cleaned, everything has been going well. A few times my teeth felt like they were ripped and torn a lot, but really isn't the case anymore. Im feeling great as of my latest appointment. Dr. Ravin herself is very pleasant and to the point. She was the one to do my teeth today from start to finish. I in and out in under 15 minutes! No awkward conversations, boring waiting, just teeth and done. While my lil brother, who doesn't brush his teeth as often, was in the cleaning process for longer haha. Overall a nice place to get your teeth cleaned. While not the best place I've been to, it still is your basic cleaning and checkup.

The wife of…read moreone of my friends is a dental hygienist who has temped with Dr. Erickson in the past, and she highly recommended his practice. Who would know better than another professional, I thought, so I gave them a try. Everything about Dr. Erickson's practice exudes professionalism and patient-centered care. The words which best describe my experiences with them are friendly, efficient, and compassionate. The office is bright and welcoming, the office staff courteous and pleasant, and the equipment state-of-the-art. It had been a few years since my last cleaning, so I required two visits to get all the tough stuff off my teeth. Nobody was condescending or judgemental that I had avoided the dentist for so long. Both hygienists who performed the scaling and debridement were as gentle and quick as the procedures would allow, and my routine follow-up care was even easier. I also needed a large filling in a cracked rear tooth repaired. Rather than putting a full crown over the tooth, Dr. Erickson installed a four-cusp onlay, a conservative approach which maintains as much of the healthy native tooth structure as possible while strengthening the repair. I explained my general apprehension towards dental work, and Dr. Erickson and his staff took the time to explain and discuss the procedure, options, and how discomfort could be reduced. When I experienced some breakthrough pain during the tooth preparation, Dr. Erickson promptly stopped the procedure to administer more anesthetic directly below the tooth. He was meticulous in both the preparation and fitting of the final restoration. The final result is a tooth that works and feels better than it has in a decade. I would highly recommend Dr. Erickson's dental practice for their expertise, dedication, thoroughness, and compassion.
