My emotional stability and attention span improved dramatically. I had doubts that I would ever feel "normal" and comfortable in my studies, but through her guidance I finally feel like my true self. She's always calm and takes extra time to listen to her patients. Gabrielle is a miracle worker. The Abelard psychotherapy was the only locations that would accept my previous Masshealth insurance. I now have better health insurance and still choose to spend 1 hour to travel there. It's also nice to be welcomed by the secretaries that are always sweet and helpful. Two thumbs up.

Arunas' ability to clarify motives in a non-judgemental way has been indispensable for me. He is a powerful listener, capable of linking past and present influences to illuminate an understandable thought process and help me develop a way to handle similar situations in future. The office itself is in an industrial building, but Arunas' office is inviting, not sparse. He creates a very comfortable and safe environment. I would recommend Arunas to anyone without reservation.

I've been to Bedrock years ago and had a decent experience. I have been twice this year and they…read moreare under staffed, the nursing won't give you important medications like antidepressants, thyroid meds and have given patients the wrong meds or wrong dosages. They also over dose the tapers so you are a zombie. It doesn't matter if you're a 100lb young woman or a 350lb 50 year old man, the Valium and Ativan taper is the same for all. Case management acts like you're an inconvenience and will mess up your short term disability and/or FMLA or avoid you all together. There was an instance where a 50 year old man snuck drugs in and was telling everyone to come to his room to get high. He targeted a young 20 year old woman, went into her room, GROPED her and stalked her. This was reported to staff for days who did NOTHING but "take a report". She was terrified of him and myself, as a small female had to stand up to him and tell him to stop, and that he needed to leave the facility, again staff did not back me up. Thankfully he didn't get violent with me but through a fit and left on his own. Most recently, a tech staff member was caught taking photos and videos of female clients. This staff member was hired by a family member who is CORPORATE ADMINISTRATOR. People who are sent here just for a day or two observation are being kept for a week and being pressured to stay for their 30 day program. They will also lie to detox patients that their insurance isn't accepted at other rehabs they want to go to so they are forced to stay. They make you believe you don't have the right to use your phone to find out the truth for yourself. Or they tell detox patients to go upstairs to Bedrocks rehab program for a few days because a bed isn't available at the rehab they want to go to and then force them into staying by saying they signed a contract with their rehab program and if they leave it'd be considered AMA. I have no idea who the director is but they're only looking for $$$, they cut costs everywhere they can from food to basic meds they should have on hand. Their techs work their butts off and are paid crap. They have the wrong approach because the recovery community knows Bedrock is an absolute zoo and a disgrace. The only people who care are most of the techs and some of the nurses. I won't be surprised when they lose good employees because they're sick of it too. It's unfortunate because Springhill and Mayflower are owned by the same parent company and have great programs. Do not go to Bedrock, it claims to be high quality care but it's basically the new Highpoint.

Like an awful lot of people, nowadays, there've been times when I've had challenges with anxiety…read moreand depression. Some of these have been short-lived, but for those that've hung around for awhile, I've sought professional help, just as I might with a cough, headache, fever or other "dis-ease" that's overstayed its welcome. If you've ever found yourself in this kind of situation (or if you're there, now), then perhaps you already know that it can sometimes take a bit of trial-and-error to find a really great therapist -- and by "great", I mean someone who has the integrity to be fully present with you, the patience to hear you out without cutting you off to interject their point of view, and insight and awareness to sidestep the typical, general, "light and fluffy" questions, and instead, ask those that get to the heart of the matter (although diplomatically, when needed). Laura Derr is exactly that kind of doctor, and I consider myself extremely lucky that when I really needed someone to help me sort through some difficult stuff, about ten years ago, my search for "one of the good ones" eventually led me to her door. Since that first series of sessions with her, there have been a few times when life's twists and turns have led me back there, and always, the experience has been as good and as educational as ever (about my own inner workings, as well as some of those around me) and, as a result, I've been able to bounce back to normal far faster than I ever had, before working with her. As both a fellow healthcare professional and a former patient of hers, I can't say enough about how glad I am to have had the chance to work with her!

Her medical issue caused ADHD type symptoms and this was in the intake form and no blood tests was done. I dont understand what her training entails. All of a sudden, billing practices were changed without any notice, transparency went down the hole, and correspondence with anyone other than the therapist did not exist. I was made to feel like I was obligated to attend sessions I attempted to cancel and charged fees pretty randomly. In fact, I'd say the office went as far as to exacerbate some of my issues by being clearly unsympathetic and focused primarily on making a dollar. My therapist was new to the practice, and quite understanding, but couldn't avoid the bureaucracy of the administration. Seemed like there wasn't much support from above. When it was time for me to end my relationship with Leeward, no attempt to communicate was made until I prompted confirmation.
