Several weeks later, ultimately accomplished procedure. Doctor was wonderful (as usual), staff I…read moredealt with during this time were wonderful, and pleased with follow-up call day after procedure. My initial issue was I learned, with one individual there, and not the Institute. Am returning for more help from them and now can recommend them highly - in spite of the one staffer. Until yesterday's scheduled procedure (1/31/18) that is. Was informed after fasting and getting there at 8:15am by their anesthesiologist, that she was refusing to perform the procedure because "it was too difficult waking me up the last time." This was either my 4th or 5th procedure by them - there was nothing new going on with me - I still needed diazepam because of PTSD - and was denied service. I tried submitting verbal complaint so whoever's in charge would be made aware of how one staffer affected their business, but my calls have not been responded to. As my first review revealed the difficulty I had in getting my calls returned, so it continues. That particular staffer is either always out 'running errands' or just takes her time returning phone calls perioid. Left three messages over several days while awaiting a call-back. I'm done.

I was sent to him by the VA due to chronic neck and back pain with x-rays and MRIs to back it up, as well as a couple of sports-related injuries, including a poorly-healed broken elbow and a complete rupture of the gluteus minimus and medius (having surgery on that in a couple of weeks). He only cared about the neck, didn't want to hear about anything else. Zero eye contact, no facial expressions, clipped and monotone. I asked a couple of questions but had to repeat myself because he ignored me. When he was done fiddling with his computer, he did have a plan; come back for some nerve blocking (or whatever it's called) which should work for 4 HOURS. Then keep a pain journal so they know if they're in the right area. So... nothing today? "No." Why not? "We need authorization from the VA. Could take days, could take weeks. Don't know." Can I get something for the pain in the meantime?? (No history of abuse or addiction, all injuries well documented.) "No. Nothing. It was nice to meet you." Then he walked out. The office staff were nice, but you couldn't pay me to go back to that place. From their parking lot, I reached out to the VA to find a different provider - which took about 10 minutes total. They were eager to take my statement and apologized for Oleg's behavior.

I was…read moreaware of the wait list everywhere and asked the person who answered if she could name another office. She said no, because she wouldn't know what insurance they would take. When I explained that I would be changing insurance based on any place I could contact, she still said no. I'm sorry I took up time with the person, who clearly had no time to even suggest one other name...

I specifically told them I was trying to find a Dr for my child but also wanted to get my husband and myself established too. I wanted one Dr for all 3 of us. I was told one Dr would not be able to handle the work load, so the needed to split us up amongst 2 drs. Fine.. it took over 2 weeks and like 3-4 calls for them to schedule us. They kept calling and asking the same questions and told me they would call me back. Finally got scheduled. I get to the building and it's older than dirt, smells like my gmas house. I believe I was the only patient there, I didn't see any cars in the front parking lot, only the back lot which I assume were the employees. Didn't see a single person other than employees. I probably saw around 10 employees which was mind boggling for the lack of patients. Not only is the building old, but also everything in the building. The receptionist was using one of those ink printing calculators - which begs the question: why type of computer programs do they have if you need to use an ink printing calculator?! The patient chair in the room (the one that moves up and down, and is usually covered with paper) looked to be from the 50s. It was not a "paper dispensing" chair, they only had a puppy pad looking medical sheet where your bum goes. The MA didn't even know how to operate it all the way, she couldn't put the leg part down. My blood was taken in room by the MA which was odd to me, there's usually an in-clinic lab with a phlebotomist or whatever. This was my "new patient appt" and they wanted to do a breast exam and pap, which was odd to me. The pap was skipped because I'm 9 months pregnant. In talking with the dr she mentioned I should have received a pap by my OB and I told her I did but it was "half of a pap" because I'm pregnant and she didn't want to mess with my cervix. The Dr proceeded to be like "these new drs these days, I don't know what they are doing, medicine always changes" which honestly made me feel like she was the one who didn't know what she was talking about and unprofessional. To top off - I found out they don't even see infants! That was literally why I was trying to find a DR! I specifically mentioned that when I called to schedule appointments. The reason they don't see kids under 2 is BECAUSE THEY DIDNT HAVE ANY and they kept needing to throw away all the very expensive vaccines. What does that tell you?! NO ONE COMES HERE. NO ONE TRUSTS THEM TO CARE FOR CHILDREN. I could go on.. don't waste your time.

My husband and myself have never been in his office and felt like he didn't want to see us or had to rush out because his life is so busy. As for the quality of work he does... it is phenomenal! I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to see my husband with straight legs and feeling 20 years younger. Had he not gone in and gotten those knees of his replaced when he did, he would have been in a wheelchair within the next few years. I can't even remember anymore, how bad both his legs were from his arthritis. To give a shout out to my husband, he took his part of taking care of his new knee replacements very seriously. Within 9 days of both surgeries he was back to work. I think he thinks he's Superman. He is a great testimony to the work Dr.O'Shea does...if the patient steps up and follows through by doing their part after the surgery. Then there is Lisa, his fabulous assistant. Another great person with a wonderful polite bedside manner. My husband and I are as comfortable seeing her as we are seeing Dr. O'Shea for injection's and post op procedures. What a team the two of them must make doing surgery. Sometime in the future, I too am going to need new knees. You cannot know the comfort I have in knowing at that time I will be very well taken care by a fabulous doctor and his assistant Lisa. Lori

Dr. Mesnier is supposed to be a good ankle surgeon and I have been trying to get an appointment since March 2025. Despite a physician referrral, good insurance, an increasingly unstable painful ankle I can barely walk on, an MRI with ligament and tendon tears, and filling out all the online paperwork, I have yet to see her. It's August. Her office cancelled my first two new patient appointments with short notice. Christina hasn't requested my records or MRI scan, even though I filled out and signed a request with my new patient paperwork. Yesterday I asked if she'd received my imaging and she said "No, I haven't requested it because it takes a really long time for them to send it, so it's the patient's responsibility." I told her I have to cancel and reschedule a half day of my own cancer patients for these appointments they keep cancelling, and asked if she could make my appt on a day when that won't happen. Her reply: "It's not my fault if patients need surgery". Nice. It doesn't seem like they want my business, so I guess it's not my fault if I go somewhere else. Dr. Mesnier probably doesn't know this is happening, and unfortunately this review is the only way to communicate with her. I will happily update it and the rating if I end up seeing her and having a good experience!
