Very happy so far. Reception has been friendly (if seeming a little overworked at…read moretimes)...***EDIT*** Having gone for a while, the reception really is a problem. Pam Rico = awesome. Convincing the front desk you are worthy to be allowed across the bridge to be granted an audience with Pam Rico = not so awesome. And forget about trying to ask your doc a quick question via phone or email like most other 21st century docs. It's why I haven't gone in a couple of years. Pam Rico is very attentive, patient, happy to give me the level of explanation/consultation I seek (i.e.; I know some people just want to be given a pill and let loose rather than learn about what's ailing them). I really hope either they can make their front desk less draconian or Pam Rico finds a friendlier office to work for, because she deserves better.

However, unfortunately I had to get by the front desk staff to get to them. I have managed dental offices for many years. I am seasoned on both sides of that counter. You are not required by law to Love people if you are forced to work with them, but at the very least do have the common decency to look them in the eye and avoid being terse or sarcastic. I honestly felt sick just sitting in that waiting room in such a dismissive atmosphere. I do hope it is something they will work on for the benefit of all.

Adventist Health, Oakhurst: 2024 Sep 27 (2.875 of 5)…read more We were so disappointed with this place that we assumed the next person we saw would give us the same service - but, we were pleasantly surprised by Helen Monnens, FNP. She treated us with care, listened to my husband's concerns, and tried to explain the best she could about the issues. Helen deserves a 4.75 of 5. Let me go back to my previous review. This is the only facility that we could go to with our 'horrible' insurance coverage. This 'so-called' medical office has only shown their unprofessionalism, their disrespect to patients, and their uncaring attitude - plus they bill under a doctor's name even though we never saw 'any' doctors there. This sounds like malpractice. (1 of 5) Thanks to Helen, this place managed to climb up from my previous review. This review is not for the place... but, for the person. Unfortunately, the overall accumulated points remain below 3 because of my original review.

My son was a nicu baby and needs medication and our doctor stopped filling it randomly and when we called to get it fixed it never did. For two weeks we called because my son was losing weight due to him not having his medication. Front desk ladies responses were "okay" when I was trying to urge her to speed the process up, specifically Rachel, so I would never bring your child here unless you wanna be neglected and for the front desk ladies to make you feel like you or your problem does not matter. Do better Oakhurst.

Kaiser, Oakhurst: 2025 Aug 6 (5 of 5)…read more Going to hospitals, even for a routine check-up can raise anxiety and blood pressure if you have to fight traffic and wait for hours to get in to see your physician. Luckily, we live just 3.5 miles from our boutique Kaiser - my routine-visit today turned out to be a positive note all around. I didn't need to wait too long to be ushered in, plus I had a good experience with everyone I encountered. Check-in: I checked in with Kerri. Kerri was friendly, efficient, and accommodating. (5 of 5) Tina: Tina took my blood pressure, heart-rate and weight. Tina looked cheery, which made me feel good. After she was done, Tina guided me to a room with small furniture. I was amused and took some pictures. Tina said the doctor sees children as part of her specialty, that's why the furniture is kid-sized. (5 of 5) Dr. Colleen O'Neil Tennant: Dr. O'Neil Tennant has been my chosen physician since October of 2024. Her specialty is in Family Medicine. She is calm, thoughtful, thorough with her exams, and listens to my concerns. That deserves an 'A' in my book. I hope I never have to change physicians. (5 of 5) Davina, Laboratory: Dr. O'Neil Tennant prescribed some blood work for me. We're lucky we can get blood drawn under the same roof. When I got there, an elderly lady walked in. She looked like she was also getting blood work done, so I gave her my spot. There was no one else behind me, but it took some time after the lady was done before my number was called. I had a wonderful phlebotomist. I explained that I'm terrified of needles and asked for a baby or butterfly needle. We joked about it. Davina was competent and calm. Yup, she can take my blood anytime. (5 of 5) Overall, my experience today at Kaiser spots a 5 of 5.

A person was sitting at the window, so I walked up to speak to her. She said she was not available because it was their lunch time and that I should come back later. I looked at my watch and it was 1:29pm, so it was a matter of seconds. Didn't seem like she was too worried about my timeline.
