From the moment I step foot into the building, I am greeted with warm smiles and lovely greetings. The check-in process is efficient; I receive a pager that directs me to the appropriate registration station, making the process seamless and quick. At the registration desk, I am welcomed with more smiles. They have my bracelet and itinerary ready, ensuring I know exactly where to go. I am always on the 3rd floor, where the warm smiles continue. The check-in process there is quick, and I have never experienced such efficiency and attentiveness in any other medical facility. When I am called back, I am met by the most caring nurses. No patient wants to be here given their diagnosis, but every single person in this building makes each visit a positive experience. When I first found out I had cancer, I was terrified to step foot in the building, but from my first visit, everyone made me feel like their priority. The staff is kind, compassionate, and they make you laugh. Most importantly, they genuinely care about you. During my visits, I find myself laughing, crying happy tears, and connecting with others who have been in my shoes. My entire team genuinely cares about me, and I can feel it. If anyone is in search of a cancer institute, you have to come here. I can promise you that you will not be disappointed.

It's a rather contemporary facility and pleasant contemporary atmosphere with plenty of seating. It works sort of along the lines of a Cleveland clinic, conveyor belt style or a one-stop-shop. It was my husband's first visit here and first time in a meeting the doctor. Everyone is super friendly and helpful, starting with the guards who check you in right on through to the doctor. It seems very nice but only time will tell if it's a place my husband wants to stay for his health care. I say this because it's different from the typical doctor office that you might be used to simply because it's a very large medical facility housing a lot of doctors staff and visitors with a lot of hustle and bustle.

And Made me wait like two weeks for surgery even though I only have 1 kidney and it's jammed by big stone ..I asked him isn't time of the essence because of the solitary kidney ? He said "you'll be fine". Day of surgery after waiting and waiting someone from Aventura Hospital cancelled surgery after already being on the surgical table and had been drugged twice. I got up off the surgical table in the OR and drove myself to memorial hospital in renal failure. I will never understand how he can practice medicine like that. I acquired an acute kidney injury which has left me with compromised renal function and I had to have specialized surgery to remove damaged part of ureter because of damage the stone made on the ureter. I was forced to have my ureter resected and reconstructed because of the trauma from the stone and the length of time it was allowed to stay stuck . I would not recomendad Aventura hospital since the OR cancelled surgery abruptly because the ceiling was collapsing while I was on the surgical table. Just So you understand, the hospital called me the day before the surgery to cancel it because they lost the lazer to be used for surgery. Only to be called back 30 min later saying they had found the lazer and the surgery was back on. I know it sounds crazy but this happened to me a year ago and I never wrote a bad review nor sued the Dr. nor the Hospital but now I receive a bill in collections from Dr Levin for like $88. So you get the scathing review above. Dr. Levin, Sir, You suck! And so does Aventura hospital.

They charged me $425 for basically nothing. He was flat out wrong on several assumptions he made. I paid $425 for him just to refer me to another fertility clinic. Also tried to do a rectal exam on me, highly unusual for my particular case. The main side effect of a medication I take causes my issue and he was looking for other reasons for it. Would not recommend at all. Waste of time and money.

Complaint about rudeness and unprofessionalism Dear Doctor's…read moreOffice, Today I underwent the UroCuff procedure, for which I paid my copayment. Before the procedure, I was told that a cuff would be applied, and I expected the procedure to be performed accordingly. I arrived with a full bladder, following all recommendations, but the procedure was done incorrectly, without the cuff, and I was not given any explanation as to what was actually measured. Afterward, I was simply told that the procedure had been completed. I do not understand what procedure this was and what exactly I paid my copayment for. In addition, your staff member, Masha, behaved rudely and unprofessionally. She addressed me in an overly familiar manner ("on ty"), hung up the phone on me, and even said, "I don't want to talk to YOU!" This is absolutely unacceptable when dealing with a patient. I came for professional medical service, not to your home, dear Masha, and certainly not for familiarity or disrespect. Unfortunately, the correctness of the procedure is in serious doubt. It was performed without the cuff, without any explanation, and I still do not know what was actually measured. If the cuff was not used, then perhaps it was a different procedure altogether -- in which case the copayment might also be different. This is absolutely unacceptable in medical practice. I am a patient who came for professional care, not to be humiliated or treated disrespectfully. Dear Masha, I am not calling you personally; I am calling the doctor's office to receive qualified answers and explanations. What was this procedure that was performed without the cuff? What is its correct name? What exactly did you measure? Why was I charged a copayment for something that was performed incorrectly? I demand that the management investigate this situation, provide me with clear explanations, and take appropriate measures regarding the rude and unprofessional behavior of your staff member. This is not just disappointing -- it is deeply disrespectful to me as a patient. Sincerely, Vlad

Upon meeting him I was impressed that he had read my entire file and knew everything about me instead of asking me questions about why I was there. He was incredibly thorough in not only his testing but also his treatment plan. He literally saved my life and I am now in complete remission, no longer on chemo and no longer on immunotherapy. However, he has assured me that this is not a fly by night relationship and will be with me monitoring me for the rest of my life. Instead of the stoic, cold physician most say oncologists can be, he is warm and compassionate along with great knowledge of his field.

As you can imagine... he scared the H E double hockey sticks out of me! I was floored! To receive a referral out of the blue and by mail was overwhelming! The appointment had already been made for me with Dr. Sawhney. I trusted my life once again to the Great Physician, knowing He would put me in the best hands-- and He did! He's been practicing for many years; graduated from the Univ. College of Medical Sciences, Delhi Univ, New Delhi, Delhi, India in 1989. He works in Tamarac, FL and specializes in Hematology/Oncology. Dr. Sawhney is affiliated with Broward Health Coral Springs, Florida Medical Center a Campus of North Shore and Northwest Medical Center. He is professional, sensitive, soft-spoken and caring! The office building is located near University Hospital in Tamarac. Parking is a bit challenging, but the facilities are nice, and the staff is wonderful. The nurse was so sweet, and the phlebotomist who drew blood was the best I've had in a long long time. She found my vein from the get-go and she was very gentle. I was so happy, I gave her a Starbucks gift card! Dr. Sawhney was as perplexed as I was that I was there and said the referral was not only premature, but that they had skipped a step. I cried tears of relief, and he was professionally comforting. He set me up with a referral to a Gastroenterologist and I was thankful the staff made the appointment directly over the phone with the other specialist's office. Otherwise, it may have been several more weeks until I would have been able to set it up myself. My experience was 100% satisfactory and although this isn't the type of business that anyone wants to visit, should you need to, I highly recommend Dr. Sawhney. One last thing: Should you need to consult with an oncologist, please feel free to send me a short, to the point private message; no need for details. I want to pray and be whatever part of your support team you'll have me be. We're in this journey called life together--never alone!
