My family has pretty close ties to Luigi, Frank and the rest of the wonderful family that runs this business and despite some hefty prices on some of the items, it still remains to this day, one of the few places that I miss greatly and wish I had out here in Boston. The recipes have not changed in decades and they still serve some of the best eggplant lasagna I've had to this day. They have a a wonderful selection of freshly made pastas and salads along with some Italian deserts. Everything is very fresh but they also carry an incredible selection of Italian deli meats, wines and cheeses. The small shop is just packed with stuff and I've never had a bad item there. The quality and the service has been, for years, some of the best I've experienced but that also comes at a price. They are undeniably expensive but then again, they can justify it with the quality that they produce day in and day out. This is always a must-stop to place for me on my trips back home. The simplicity of the joint, whose floor is covered in sawdust and the staff in their big white pharmacist-like coats with big smiles on their face (or occasional hugs because we're that close) and the delicious smells are something that I hold dearly. They've been around for years and I hope that they remain in it for generations to come!

This location is within the confines of the mall Les Passages, right near La Grand Place. And while it is more expensive, it offers a selection of much higher quality than most. The only downside for this spot is that unless you walked your way over there or used public transportation, parking can be a real pain in the butt. Sure, there's a paid garage that you can use but it's often very busy and not as convenient as one might think, and somewhat expensive. You could try your luck with street parking but that's often difficult as well. On the upside, once you get inside Inno, you'll most likely find it to be worth it though - their produce is outstanding, their bakery is more than decent (although not as good as the Paul bakery which is right next to it) and they have a good selection of fish and meat. Their deli counter is lined with delicious dishes, from olives and tarama, to various flaky stuffed pastries and pickled items. It's all great and can make for an easy, cooking-free meal. Oh and did I mention that they also have a large selection of alcohol there too? Honestly, this place makes for a wonderful, one-stop-shop kind of place but it's too expensive to make it the only place you'll visit. But when you do, you'll be happy you did.

The menus are written in Italian which added to the authenticity. The service was extremely good, the guy was very helpful with us because my friend speaks French but I speak English so it was nice that he explained everything in both languages. Service was also very attentive and helpful in giving suggestions. We ordered the artichokes with truffle sauce and the shrimp with nuts and raisins as our appetizers. The appetizers were amazing, especially the shrimp dish it was my favourite. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because I ordered the beef ragu and I felt like it was missing something. The sauce didn't have as much flavour as I was hoping. The noodles were nice and the beef was cooked well but if anything it had a bit too much oil and I wish another unexpected flavour would have been there. Overall great restaurant and I would happily recommend this to anyone in search of Italian food. You need to make a reservation though if you want to get seated.

Now that she was happy we further browsed the store and I heard a piano playing in the distance and walked toward the sounds. A man (I think was a customer) was playing the classic black piano while other patrons were sitting at small tables listening. Near the piano lounge, there was a full service bakery where we purchased several fresh pastries, which we immediately ate. This type of department store you just dont find in America. The only negative was there were no bathrooms on the property. The security guard advised the bathroom was in the McDonalds restaurant next door - this seemed very odd.
