I was reluctant to admit a problem and I really just figured there was not much point as I have always been this way and don't know if I'll change. After another bad month my wife caught me in a weak moment and I agreed to do it. One of my biggest hang ups on getting help was I really didn't see myself being able to talk with someone about all the issues. I picked Dr. Feintuch almost randomly off of the Psychology Today list of recommended psychiatrists in Nashville. My criteria for a doctor are my own but I basically rolled the dice and figured if it was a bad experience I could venture elsewhere. I've only been 4 or 5 times now. From the start I was very anxious and somewhat embarrassed of going. The nervousness about going has subsided the receptionist lets you in and doesn't try to make any awkward conversation and lets you wait in peace. Dr. Feintuch has a very calm and attentive affect that does not feel like the stereotypical "shrink" depicted in movies. Her office feels like a study right out of your own home and is located in a clean and comfortable American Foursquare right off of Music Row. I felt very nervous about going into this situation and was not sure how it would go. Mostly she ask questions here and there and lets you talk about what's going on in your head. She ask plenty of good questions and never comes across as critical or snooty, even when I fall into a blabbering tirade and get off topic. She did offer a few potential diagnoses that she thought might be related to my issues but not in a threatening or absolute way that made me feel labeled with a big problem. She offered potential medicines and various snippets of advice to these issues. She also recommended a book that I listened to and identified with immediately. The main reason I felt compelled to write this review is I was just last week in one of the darkest depressions I have experienced and her very simple advice(in that moment it seemed trivial)as well as my wife's support is helping to get me out bed each day and move on. I intend to continue to see Dr Feintuch on a regular basis. If you or someone you know needs a doctor to talk to, in the mental health arena, I recommend Dr Feintuch.

Leads me to believe he is fraudulently billing and coding which is HIGHLY ILLEGAL! Puts patients on "involuntary holds" without evidence or proof of IMMEDIATE harm to oneself or others. When this didn't work, it was only at my request to be taken off the benzodiazepine. I was informed by him a rapid taper method that he developed was the safest way to come off the medication. He conducted a four day rapid taper that completely paralyzed me. After researching it was realized this was the worse, most inhumane way to take someone off a benzodiazepine. The failure to appropriately taper me off the medication has cost me over a year off my life, and put me through pure hell. If you are taking a benzodiazepine and looking for help please do not visit Dr. Sharpe. His lack of education or refusal to believe the consequences of being rapidly tapered can be extremely devastating.

A year later I tried again and I finally got someone to call me after reaching out multiple times and they said they don't take insurance, which is not what it seemed to say on their website. Overall I got bad vibes from them and so I'm leaving this review just to let them know that you lost a client before you even had them by being very bad at following up and very unclear and unforthright in your costs. Meanwhile other TMS and neurfeedback clinics in Nashville got back to me in 1 day. The only reason I tried to give this one a chance is because it was a closer drive, but it's just not worth it.

NBI said there was an authorization issue that I needed to rectify. No. They wanted me to do their job for them. Again, horrible. They left me without a provider while I was in a mental health crisis and needed immediate help. As a veteran with severe PTSD, this is completely unacceptable and it was hard to navigate. After finally getting answers and forwarding to NBI billing, I didn't hear back for 2 months. THEN they say I still owe the balance, and I need to rectify- again. After getting in touch with the VA, I've learned that the reason they dropped me as a patient is because they were frustrated that they could not LEGALLY charge veterans for services rendered. Absolutely awful experience, and I'm still getting threats for my balance to go to collections. Absolutely lazy and incompetent employees with the worst customer service!
