This used to be the best in town! I just got an order, thrilled to revisit! The duck in the duck curry was over cooked and tasted off, and the eggplant was off tasting as well. The crab fried rice was pitiful at best.. tasted like it was fried with old fryer oil, the crab was not completely shelled and was the quality of shriveled old frozen grocery store crab. Maybe this was an off night, and I hope so.. but it was bad enough I won't be trying them again for quite a while. I haven't been here in years, but the food is just as good as I remember. The 4 stars are because of there slow service. It was not a big deal tonight, since we planned on hanging out and making a evening of it. They serve beer and wine only. For a reasonable price. I got a glass of Acrobat Pinot Gris for $6. For a starter we got there fried egg rolls. Those are a must! They came out piping hot with fresh ingredients in the inside. For entrees I got the lemongrass chicken on a bed of fresh veggies and peanut sauce over the top. That's my new favorite dish. It is plenty to split between two or even three people. My boyfriend got the crunchy cashew chicken. He loved it, but he sad they forgot the cashews. The dimmed lights and warm restaurant make it cozy in there and encourages you to stay awhile. Definitely worth visiting or picking up togo food from. read more

If you've read my reviews, you may recall my 1 star experience at another Thai restaurant in L.O. We had accidentally ended up there when meaning to end up here. Huge difference between a 1 and 4 star ! So glad we eventually made it here for dinner :) The atmosphere was much much nicer and more comfortable here than the miserable other L.O. Thai place I reviewed. The food also couldn't compare. We had the fresh rolls with tofu. Super delicious with amazing peanut sauce. The quality of the peanut sauce is so very important. The chicken pad ke mao was not overly spicy just as we requested. The chicken was fresh , and the food came fast. No complaints here, will come back. read more

Dang's is definitely the best Thai food in Lake Oswego, one of the best in Portland Metro if not THE best. There is a reason it is always packed and always full of to go orders. I have probably been here at least 100 times. It is always fresh, delicious and on time ready for pick up when they say it will be. i have been coming to this restaurant with my family for years. the quality isn't quite what it once was years ago, but it is still pretty good and it's one of the thai restaurants i eat at often within portland/lake oswego. i love their fresh salad rolls with shrimp. they are huge and i've ever seen another thai restaurant serve them the way dang's does. their peanut sauce is delicious. i also enjoy their tom kha soup with mixed seafood, pad thai, and pad see ew. the spring rolls are tasty as well. solid thai restaurant overall. read more

We were looking for a Thai restaurant and came across Dang's review and thought we would give it a try. When we arrived there was a steady line for both takeout and sit down so we had a feeling it would be good. My fiancé ordered Massaman Curry and I had the Spicy Chicken and Shrimp with Fried Basil. Both were delicious. Traci's curry was the best she has ever had. She always compared massaman curry to her ex-favorite (after this dish) Red Onion. We will definitely be going back. It had been a long time since I had eaten here. I was craving Thai food and realized this place wasn't too far away from me. My mother and I decided to go here for lunch on a weekday this week. We stopped in around 2 pm. Right away the staff were unwelcoming telling us that they close at 2:30 pm. I said well a half hour should be plenty of time. We ordered a salmon curry and a regular curry dish. No one said the Salmon curry would take longer to make. We got the curry dish and had to wait on the salmon one. We asked for it to be mild but it was way too spicy in my opinion. I had to take most of it home and add alfredo sauce to it to combat the spice level. I totally regret ordering it. They bring it out and practically demand that we take it to go. I looked at the clock and it was 2:20. It wasn't 2:30. We were done by 2:35 but the staff were harassing us to leave. We would have been done without the harassment and pressure from the employees. It was rude and inconsiderate. We won't be going back here. If they don't want customers they should have close at 2 pm on there window not 2:30. I was extremely disappointed in the food and service. read more

A good place for Thai food in Lake Oswego! Came by with some friends for lunch the other day and noticed that it was pretty busy. However, our waitress was still on top of it. She was consistently coming by to refill our waters and asking if we needed anything else. Highly recommend stopping by for lunch. Their weekday lunch specials are really affordable, most dishes are $8 with your choice of protein (tofu, chicken, beef, or pork) and they give a good amount of food. We ordered the eggs rolls for an appetizer, it was decent, nothing really worth mentioning. The presentation was unique but the dipping sauce was a bit more watery than I'm used to. For the entrees, we decided to do family style and got the red curry, drunken noodles, and chicken cashew. They were all super tasty and we finished all of it! Loved how generous they were with the bamboo and eggplant (they're my absolute favorites!) in the red curry and you could really taste the coconut milk. I literally always order drunken noodles at any Thai restaurant I go and it was absolutely delicious here. But surprisingly, my favorite dish out of the three we ordered was the chicken cashew. I really enjoyed the sweet chili paste and the combination with the water chestnuts. I would definitely come back again to try some other dishes if I'm in the area. read more

Calling in your orders, they'll say it'll be ready in 20 minutes, it will closer to at least 45 minutes. If you follow up your order, expect them to hang up on you. I'm done tolerating this place and supporting this business. Our Sunday afternoon restaurant for years, Dang is a Lake Oswego staple. My dishes are the chili chicken and the crab fried rice.

This restaurant isn't perfect, but I appreciate Dang's for going the extra mile and being a little more stylish and interesting than most of the other Thai restaurants in the area. This is tablecloth Thai cuisine; not grab and go. Rather than being stuck in strip mall, Dang's has a good location along Highway 43 with ample parking. They've done their best to add a little style to a former coffee shop and have a nicely appointed dining room and a separate banquet room for private functions. The plates are stenciled and the tableware has heft. I love the stone carving of the tropical maiden and the wood cut of the elephants. Also, check out the royal portrait in the entryway for a little regal splendor. The lunch menu is diverse and in addition to your basic curries and noodle dishes, Dang's offers some appealing specialties. The Tom Yum Noodle soup (not to be confused with the standard Tom Yum soup) is the best version I've had anywhere and it is served in a playfully oversized bowl. The rich and creamy Khao Soi is also in my regular rotation. They serve beer and have a decent wine list. You will pay a little bit more for the Lake Oswego razzle dazzle, but most lunch entrees are still in the $7 - 9 range. My first experience was on New Year's Eve and the entire family enjoyed dinner. The standout from that meal was the Yum Nuar (grilled beef salad w/lemongrass and mint). My most recent experience was with fellow Yeeps for a group lunch. In both cases, I really enjoyed the food, but the service was a bit on the slow side. Again, not recommended for a quick bite to eat. Experience Dang's when you have time to enjoy a leisurely and interesting meal. Note: Not that I always agree with their ratings, but Dang's was the only restaurant in the Southern burbs to make The Oregonian's Top 100 Restaurants list in 2009. read more

Came here today (Sunday 12pm) for a lunch with two of my friends who live in Lake Oswego - I came from SW Portland and it only took 15 minutes to get here. Don't let the outside of the restaurant fool you (I'm from the San Francisco Bay Area and I have to admit that my first impression of the exterior was that it looked a little jank - but the longer I'm in Portland, I'm realizing that the outside of many establishments does NOT tell you how nice it will be inside or how good the food is, and Dang's is a prime example of this). Pros: - A PARKING LOT - it's funny how much I care about free parking after moving to Portland. - On a Sunday it's not crowded at all at noon (aka the time it opens lol...). We got seated right away, and the service was pretty good (waters were kept filled, they gave us a whole bowl of peanut sauce we asked for on the side - we love putting peanut sauce on everything). I have heard that it gets really busy on weeknights or for dinner, so heads up. - We got the pad thai with chicken, the chicken cashew, pad see ew with beef, and pineapple fried rice. These dishes were pretty well portioned, and between the 3 of us we inhaled all of them (we definitely got full before we finished, but it tasted so good we sort of just kept eating because we wanted to keep tasting...) - Total price was $51 for three people, so about $17 per person (which is kind of a heftier meal, but I honestly believe I ate what I paid for). I would say the pricing is normal. - The food came out pretty fast, I feel like we only waited like 10 minutes. "Cons": - I honestly feel like if you give this place anything less than 4 stars, it's because you're not ordering the right stuff. Every Thai restaurant has stuff they're good at (and there's stuff that's on the menu at Thai restaurants that you're just really not supposed to invest time in ordering...) So just be smart and stick to the basics - the typical dishes are what they perfect and they're SO good. I literally don't have any pics to show you (but they look like typical Thai dishes) because I started eating right away. When I returned to Oregon I arrived with high expectations for the superior SE Asian cuisine I was accustomed to ordering before my departure. Somehow in my absence the quality of Thai food took a nose dive. I lost hope of ever getting a quality meal as before. My faith has been restored. I ordered my favorites dishes from here and am giddy with delight to eat a dish that harkens back to the glory days of the Portland Thai food scene. Thank You. I honestly hate giving bad reviews to places.. had the food been good I would have just brushed the incident by me.. but the food was mediocre at best.. coming from an immigrant family I understand how hard it is to please everyone but that day.. is still the worst I've ever experienced at a restaurant.. I do wish them the best and I hope they don't do what they did to me to anyone else.. owning a restaurant is stressful but at the end of the day I'm not a tweaker or someone that's not reasonable.. I have to agree with some other reviewers, the service isn't always the friendliest. Sometimes it's very friendly, sometimes not at all. I wish they were open before 5pm for dinner on week nights. Sometimes they scowl at you when you are there right at 5pm. I live in the hood so I am a very frequent diner. To go is super fast, and in person is usually pretty fast unless they are super busy. I love the pad curry powder noodles. (I always order without tomatoes and baby corn). The fresh rolls, shrimp tempura, and chicken satay are yummy appetizers. I also like the Pad kee mao, and jumbo prawn with Panang curry. My sister loved the green curry. I've had a couple of things that weren't my favorite, and I can't even remember what they were. They are not inexpensive, but the portions are large and I can usually get two meals out of one order. I would defiantly recommend. read more

Yikes. What a disaster! This review is about the customer service for a DoorDash delivery. When the driver arrived I let her know that the order I received was the wrong one. When she called the restaurant to inform them, they said they'd make the order but they were irate and accused the dasher of colluding with me to steal food from them by photoshopping my email and receipt from DoorDash confirming my order. When she got to Dang's to pick up the correct order that they confirmed on the phone was being made, she was told it would take another 20 minutes. Then after the restaurant got off the phone with a DoorDash representative, she slammed the food on the counter and told my Dasher to "get out and never come back." Look, I know we're in some uncertain times right now but this kind treatment of another human being is humiliating and totally uncalled for. The Dasher is just trying to do her job (she was absolutely amazing) and I'm just trying to feed my toddler the food that I had promised him all day. Going to Adisaya from now on. This was my first visit. We lucked out and arrived before the dinner crowd. Their food is delicious! Servers are pleasant and efficient. I can't say how efficient they are during a Friday dinner rush, but I get the feeling they would be just as good. Portion sizes are large enough to share family style if desired. I tried a dish that was new to me. I don't recall the name, but it's basically Thai pot roast. Chuck roast in a red curry and coconut milk sauce with Kaffir lime leaves. Not really what I anticipated but it's a tasty dish. Once again, I failed to take photos prior to dishing out the food, but hopefully the ones I *did* take give you an idea of the presentation or at least make you salivate.
