Absolutely wonderful Sunset wine tasting cruise! Delicious snacks paired beautifully with the wine. And if you're not a wine lover, they had beer. And if you don't drink alcohol, they had sodas and water. They have got you covered! Staff were professional, friendly, and engaging. Communication before the sail was consistent and helpful - right down to exact instructions to find their store in a busy downtown pier area of Key West. And people, get there when they tell you to so you can check-in and not hold the boat up. There is a lovely pier to walk around and shops to check out, and even drinks being sold close by if you want to start early. If you are a solo traveler, like me, do not be deterred. This was a great evening with many people to talk to if you choose. FYI - if you are lactose intolerant, most of the snacks include cheese. Also, if you're not staying in Key West, know your drinking limits and drink plenty of water. I pre-purchased their wine tumbler and I am happy I did. I heard others on the boat asking if they could buy one. All-in-all, it's a beautiful evening out and I would definitely go again! read more

This was amazing! I would take this sunset cruise again and again and again... This is for the Wind and Wine. We already plan on returning with the in-laws. Great sailboat! Great crew! Great wine tasting! I personally enjoyed this better as its more intimate and I'm not a fan of the louder band playing music. The tunes they were playing low were great in setting the mood. We picked Danger Charters for the sail boat experience when we wanted to go snorkel in Key West. Best decision! Purchased tickets in advance online, and check-in was quick and efficient. Since it was such a hot day, Captain Matthew quickly got everyone on board and set sail. Sailed out to Mule Key for kayak excursion. Niko was very knowledgeable about the history, wildlife and vegetation. Lasted about 45 minutes and then we sailed to our snorkel spot. Water visibility was amazing and I was intrigued to see how sponges grow. I got lucky and spotted a Giant grouper, Lionfish and a Morey Eel. Once back onboard , Erin kept the snacks and drinks flowing. Captain Matthew set a slow course for us to enjoy the sunset. Best day ever!!! Shouts out to the knowledge, safe and fun crew!!! One of our favorite experiences in the Florida Keys, complete with a breathtaking sunset, snorkeling in crystal-blue water, a guided kayak tour through a nature preserve, and an amazing crew who ensured our family made memories for a lifetime. From the moment we left the dock in Key West, the Danger Charter crew provided everything we needed for an unforgettable evening cruise, from beer and wine for the adults, to snacks and smiles for the younger passengers. Their extensive knowledge of local wildlife, tidal patterns and the Keys' fascinating history made every moment of the cruise entertaining, particularly when we broke out into smaller groups to kayak the reef and a pair of small islands. Our kids (usually skeptical about being trapped for 4 hours anywhere without electronics or a TV) had a blast, despite some early struggles with their snorkel gear. But the crew was extraordinarily helpful throughout, taking time to show my son how to properly wear his dive mask while also pointing out the amazing creatures that skittered across the sea floor. And the sailboat itself was magnificent -- clean and well-maintained, with more than enough deck space for the crew and passengers to stretch out comfortably. No visit to the Keys is complete without some time on the incomparable Caribbean waters, and a sunset cruise with Danger Charters is one of the best ways to experience this incredible part of the American landscape. This was an absolutely most awesome experience during our time in Key West. I think it was the stand out event for my wife and I. The best place to park for Danger Charters is at the Opal Key Resort Parking Deck. Again, it's covered and keeps your car cooler and it's only five dollars per hour. I would plan on checking in with the Danger Charters about 30 minutes prior to meeting the captain out front. They will give you a card that will assign you to a captain and a schooner. Our captain was Captain Tony, and he was absolutely superlative. The entire crew brought a lot to the trip and they worked so well together. The boat is more smaller and intimate which we liked. Brad and Morgan, who assisted captain Tony with the cruise were absolutely awesome. Very engaging. In interacting with our small group. Very friendly and outgoing. The most important part of our cruise experience was the people with us and the personalities and engagement of the crew. They were simply amazing, memorable, and made it an A+ plus experience. The hors d'oeuvres were great. There were seven varietals of wines shared with the group and introduced by Morgan. Also available were local IPA beers. Great stuff. Even though it was a bit overcast throughout the day, the sunset was still amazing. No green flash this time. Hopefully next time! read more

What a delightful experience. The highlight of our vacation in Key West. We took an all-day excursion with Bronza (captain), Ellen, and Veekash. They were a terrific blend of professionalism and enjoyment. We really enjoyed hearing their stories and educational explanations. The kayaking around and through the mangrove "island" was awesome. We also enjoyed the snorkeling experience. One thing they did well was to give each snorkeler a "pool float" to make it easier to manage the floating process so you could concentrate on seeing the reef and fish. Nice touch! Bottom line? Highly recommended. Compared to what we heard about other operators, our experience was notably above average. read more

We went on a wine sunset tour and *loved* it. The crew was lots of fun, the appetizers were great, after (optionally) sampling a selection of 8 wines, it was basically as much wine as you can drink (limited mostly by the 2 hours on the boat). They do a great job of framing the sunset on both sides of the boat so that everyone gets a great view for a while. The price is completely fair given that you get to drink a lot of solid wine, eat some pretty good appetizers, and enjoy a beautiful sunset out on the ocean. Highly recommend! read more

Great time with awesome staff! Could have paid a bit more attention to safety on the very windy kayak tour, but they managed. (We own a kayaking company so our standards are pretty high on that front!) it was a beautiful, smooth sail despite windy conditions; guides were knowledgeable, affable, and service-oriented. The "best snorkeling in the keys" was a total oversell, as the area had very few fish and everything was covered in kicked up soil from all the tourist' boat traffic. But truly it was a great time because the guides were fun, patient, and informative. Food was awesome too! read more

Wonderful sunset/wine cruise on Schooner. Not a party boat, limited to I believe 16 people, no children. They had a family type sunset cruise (no alcohol), and a "party boat" if that is your desire. We wanted something different and got it. Nice to be on a schooner rig, not a big, crowded Cat. Great service, nice selection of wines, a short discussion about each, enough hours d'oeuvres to make dinner out of, mostly cheese sticks with fruit, veggie or summer sausage but all delightful and continually passed around. My family's time last week on the Wind & Wine Sunset Sail was the highlight of our trip to Key West. The crew of Rose, Luke, and Captain Bronza (sorry if I misspelled!) were excellent--attentive, friendly, and very knowledgeable. Our time out on the water was peaceful & relaxing, and we got some beautiful photos. The selection of food was very nice, but it was mostly charcuterie-type meats, cheeses, etc., so I would recommend having a full meal before or after coming out for the sail. No one in my party realized it was going to be a full tasting of the 8 wines offered, which was still lovely. Folks who don't drink wine were still able to choose from a selection of beers and a gluten free option as well. Overall we had a great time and would love to come back someday. We also had a minor issue in which my family got assigned between two separate boats for the sunset sail, something to do with booking under two names I think. However the Danger Charters team was happy to make arrangements so we could all sail together. We were certainly a couple of happy sea slugs by the end of our sail. Mazeltov! read more

So glad that my friend found this place! We opted in for the sunset time frame and it was perfect. Was a bit chilly due to the winds but they had wet suits and blankets for anybody who needed them. I would say this was the best bang for your buck cause you got to do so much! You get a little bit of everything from the sail boat ride by Captain Matthew, learning the awesome history of Key West that we can thank Teddy Roosevelt's part for. Felt like I learned so much from Logan and the burning question on why all the dang roosters have taken over the streets. During our clear water kayaking, I felt like I was in a Discovery Channel episode because Logan knew what he was talking about and really passionate about his job! The water was so calm and perfect that we kayak next to baby sharks! During the snorkeling adventure, Emily pointed out fish and things that were interesting and she was the best bartender. Let's just say I felt the open bar effects when I got off the boat. There were fruits and chip to snack on throughout the whole thing. I will be recommended this to everybody I know and most likely coming back to explore/learn more with this group! read more

The wine and wind sunset cruise was the "non-food" nature highlight of our recent Key West vacation. The staff was Excellent! We loved our Sailor Gals- they willingly shared lots of insider tips for shopping with me, and they navigated the boat so incredibly! We were all impressed with their skill and professionalism. The boat held about 20 people and was a very intimate setting- others we saw had full boats with people standing the entire time. We were comfortable on cushioned seats with full accomodations. Would recommend a sun hat, sunglasses and one coat of mild sunscreen prior to boarding if you have any Irish ancestry, as well as sitting on the boarding side of the boat- it had the best views of the sunset! 10/10 would def go back! read more

My sister and I had THE BEST time on our Danger Charters sail, snorkel and kayak tour. Captain Mary was knowledgable, kind, and impressive! Her crew (Vikash and Olivia) were awesome, as well. Everyone was helpful, patient, and FUN! All there to help you have a good time. You head out from the marina (where cruise ships drop off/pick up!), then set sail into the water. First you snorkel along the reefs (we didn't see much -- some fish and rays, but it was still beautiful and clear + swimming in warm water is always fun!), and then head to a mangrove island for your kayak eco tour. Vikash was very knowledgeable about the ecosystem and answered all our questions. After the kayaking is the sail home during a beautiful Key West sunset. We got so many beautiful pictures! Before each adventure is a quick lesson on how to do the activity, and the "bar" (of wine and beer) opens after the snorkeling. The crew make amazing "wait staff" and are constantly refilling beverages, chatting about Key West hidden gems, and making you feel at home (with a boat full of strangers). We would 100% recommend this adventure -- it's worth every penny. Everyone had a great time and learned something. You'll probably have the most fun if you have some experience in snorkeling and double kayaking, but you'll learn quickly if you don't -- the crew is incredibly helpful for those who are more inexperienced.
