She unfortunately got injured and couldn't style anymore, so I was in a bit of a panic to find a new person. I know it's just hair, but I was nervous as hell to try new places. I tried a couple of places in Kelowna and Vernon from recommendations, and there really wasn't one that fit. Enter Jenny! She also came by recommendation by a good friend. Jenny was totally awesome and down to earth when I met her. Definitely found my right fit! I have long, thick, straight hair, and I love it layered. She layers it so it sits nicely, looks full, but weighs so much less. I'm always given the option to straighten or curl as a style afterwards, and I used to be terrified of the curl, but now, it's my favourite treat! I love the Aveda product quality, and their scents are just amazing! Post-COVID, I found the environment comfortable, and they made adjustments to make the experience reassuring. While an extra fee isn't ever fun to pay, in this case, I certainly don't mind. They were shut down for ages, and then needed to implement new protocols to meet requirements. I get that it's "all a part of business", and everyone has taken a hit, but this is not an insurmountable ask, and businesses are not able to recoup costs from the long closures, decreased traffic, and increased cleaning costs. They are transparent with their cleaning fee. They could have easily just increased the price of their services instead. I am thankful for the transparency.

Started as a Zero stars but quickly recovered!…read more Our daughter booked a appointment on July 4 for 9:30 appointment for July 14, the person on the phone took her name and phone number. The person on the phone told her that the junior would call her the following Monday to speak about what my daughter was requesting. Well following Monday the junior never called! My daughter did try that following tue try call to get information on how long and price, NOBODY called her back. She did call MANY times and got no answer on the phone. She even left many message. Yet nobody called.( disclosure we live farther away from Vernon so it not like we would just show up to the business.) We arrived at schedule time and we are told the junior hairdresser who was to style her hair wasn't to be in until 11am. She checked the schedule and nothing was put in the system. Even checked the hair appointment book. She even ask if we got a follow up call text reminder of the appointment, which we did not . The hairdresser was the only person working and with a client I explained this was for her late grad pictures. I showed the text that my daughter sent me that she made the appointment and the junior was to call her back which nobody did. And the fact she left many messages and called many times to speak to her, yet nobody called her back! She said allow me to finish with this client and I will get ahold of the junior. She explained she lived outside of Vernon so we would have to wait for her to show up. We waited awhile and she came back saying that she wasn't going to bother trying to figure out what happened and she will fit her in. By 10:30 am another hairdresser came in and help finish the up due. They apologized a few times while doing her hair and my daughter said they were very gentle. My daughter went to pay and they told her no charge for her Up due and the mixup.

I find it to be rude. But....what has really made me unhappy is, when I completed 10 sets of Gel nails I was to receive a free set. An employee had written twice on my card that i had regular manicures, so I was denied my free set. I have only ever had Gel nails done at Viva and tried to explain that it must have been a mistake. However I was still denied my free set. I've told them I'm an unhappy customer, but they don't seem to care. I've made my next appointment elseware.

I love their shop. Very clean and organized. I was especially impressed with their team and their receptionist. Everyone had a genuine smile on their face, and everyone was helping one another. There was a dance recital that weekend, and a lot of excited daughters came to get their hair and makeup done. It really helped mothers be stress free. If I ever come to Vernon, I will use them again.

Second red flag, springing a waiver on me when I arrived for the service stating they are not responsible if they destroy your hair! Third red flag, now too late to back out, the stylist carelessly flung bleach in my eye and I had to wash it over and over. She didnt even apologize and further deposited bleach on my pants, ruining them. I asked for platinum which they said they could do. My hair turned out banana yellow underneath and pink on top. The pink washed out as it was toner, the brass underneath stayed as is. The whole time the chick talked about how good she was and how brassiness was the mark of a crappy job. And then she gave me brass. They had the nerve to charge me 20% more than they quoted for a "colour correction" that they totally failed. NOW I need a colour CORRECTION and will spend more $ somewhere that can actually retain talent. The only people coming and going were for nails and facials...NOT HAIR! The cut was rushed, definitely not finished, not checked properly and it's all choppy and is uneven on each side. When I took issue with the cost, reminding them of the quote, they summoned the RCMP, who threatened me with force and made me pay, suggesting I take them to court. And they refused to fix it. Criminals. This salon is amateur and greedy to boot. If your hair matters to you, RUN!
