We went to their gourmet Wednesday dinner last night and it was amazing! We had two different meals, the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and the vegetarian meal, Southern Tomato Pie with corn pudding. Both were absolutely delicious! We've heard of this brewery, but until recently haven't had the chance to stop by. On a whim we decided to check them out the other day. We were warmly greeted on our arrival & offered our choice of seating. All seating options had appeal of their own, we chose the comfy chairs facing the bar. The staff was helpful in our decision on what to try which was great due to their selection. The only thing we'd like to see is a more dog friendly atmosphere, which we were assured is coming soon. This was not what we expected but ended up loving it! It is in a small strip mall, not where I was expecting a brewery to be ( they do have the tanks in their back rooms). They have a very small outside seating area. Limited menu items but let me tell you the Baked Pretzel was awesome... and HUGE!!! Its about a foot tall. Lots of great beer choices. I didn't see it posted anywhere but you can order a beer flight which was a great way to taste several, which I did. We were told to order at the bar when we came in but later a guy came around and checked to see if we needed anything so I'm not sure of the actual order process. They have a variety of 4-6 person tables, high tops and bar seats. And they have tons of games you can play... we played GIANT UNO! A lot if fun!!! read more

The Dancing Kilt has really upped their game with the food menu. The new menu has a variety of delicious choices. The Wednesday gourmet menu with beer pairing is exemplary. The staff is always friendly and attentive, and it's one of the cleanest establishments I have ever been to. We enjoy the live music on Thursdays and Fridays. You can't beat the price of beer on Tuesday stein night. The beer menu has something for everyone. read more

The red ale was mild and went down so easy! The purple dragon has an 11.5% abv but was also smooth, and the honey flavor does come through. St.Damien says it has a hint of spice, but its rather heavy for spice, and I very much loved it for that unique flavor. The wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. That pretzel was amazing - perfect with the beers. The fluorescent lights and office-tile ceiling is not the greatest aesthetics for having a Saturday night out by any means, but the brews are worth a visit. Much recommended! read more

Their beers are tremendous their brewmaster is very knowledgeable as well as willing to talk to the customers about the different brews. I visited on a Saturday afternoon and upon walking in there are table tops and full tables to sit at. If it wasn't Covid there would be a bar to sit at. I was warmly greeted and shown to a table top. They have quite a few varieties on tap so whether you like a lager, stout, IPA or Hefeweizen, they have a little bit of everything for everyone. They have a few snacks you can purchase such as potato ships and a pretzel but don't have a big kitchen. I had a flight of beers and it was reasonably priced at 9.50, which is pretty good. My favorite beer was a stout they had and also a Scottish wee heavy ale that was 13% but you would never know it in tasting it. Very smooth. They have growlers to go if you want to take a beer home with you. The service was excellent and they do bring on new beers from time to time. I will be back to try out a few more. read more

So great to have a new brewery in Chester. We really enjoyed our first visit and plan to go again soon! I loved the stout...nice coffee/peanutbutter taste. The staff was friendly and it was a nice atmosphere (although the florescent lights were a bit bright) Over all a thumbs up. They need to think about expanding their weekend hours...they close at 7 pm both Friday and Saturday and are closed on Sunday. read more

As a regular kilt wearing this was an easy decision when I found myself looking for something to drink south of Richmond. Good selection of beer and they even have some regular beer snacks on the menu (vs some places relying on food trucks). These are the friendliest brewers you'll meet. Such a nice group of friendly, fun, funny, welcoming people. And the beer is great as well, with a really nice variety. Pretzel was HUGE and delicious! Flights were a fun way to try their beer and all was good. The staff was very kind and professional and attentive, I mean like chica-Fila status politeness. They were having a private event in 30 minutes when we arrived but still allowed us to order a flight, we got the pretzel to go so we were not in the way even though the ensured us to stay as long as we wanted. As we were leaving another couple arrived 5 minutes prior to closing for the private event and they also insisted they stay and enjoy themselves etc which was very nice to see. We will be back.
