We got an introduction to the programs here through their "Super Hero" Summer program. The girls had a blast and they had a short show to demonstrate what they learned at the conclusion of the summer program. My wife and I had concerns about our daughters ability to listen to instructions and we thought that the more exposure they had to structured classes of any kind would be helpful. We were so thrilled to hear that they would be happy to have the girls participate in their kids dance classes during the school year. We enrolled both girls in Miss Molly's 9:30am class on Saturdays and to say my wife and I are impressed would be an understatement. She has so much energy with the kids it makes me feel lazy. The girls love her, love the class, and look forward to coming every weekend. As parents we cannot ask for much more than that, and we look forward to getting further exposure to their dance programs as our girls progress.

You can tell this is a place that is geared towards kids, teens, and adults with a variety of opportunities from beginner to advanced. I had the chance to talk with a couple of the other parents who were a all really encouraging and friendly as our godson was a little shy for his first time. They had explicitly mentioned wearing business attire for the interview, and while a few people followed the dress code, most did not. The parking was awful, the studio had a terrible smell and intense heat. I have always been passionate about dancing, but I found these dance schools, which are quite popular across the U.S., to be like the McDonald's of dance schools. If I were to take dance classes, I would prefer a private school with professional instructors who have years of experience. I find it ironic how some people want to be accepted and not judged by society, yet I felt uncomfortable due to the behavior of some staff and the owner. Thankfully, I have high self-esteem, and I know that I am intelligent and beautiful.

I had never been in this building even though we often are at the library next door. My fiance and I had a few minutes to spare today so we decided to drop in so she could show me the facilities and we could talk with someone about a membership. As we are walking down a hall (within the first 5 minutes of getting there) in mid-conversation this older man begins following us and recording us. I don't mean to stereotype but it is what it is, this man was filthy, looked like he hadn't showered or changed his clothes, you get the idea. He tells us that we look like people who stole from there yesterday. My fiance told the front desk and they basically said the following: He recently had his cell phone stolen, so thats why hes suspicous of us. (The one he used to film us with I presume?) And basically we just need to deal with it... I never do reviews and really try to avoid leaving negative ones. But not only did this homeless older man follow us with a camera in our face just for entering the building...the worst part is the staff basically profiled/stereotyped us and told us to deal with it. My fiance said it best, "how could we have avoided that? Just for entering the building we are subject to that?" I definitely don't feel comfortable allowing my child to be there in a bathing suit. God forbid he "fits the description" or something and has to deal with the harassment from guests followed by a shrug of the shoulders from management. If you have a son or daughter who goes here regularly I would just like to say BE CAREFUL and PAY ATTENTION to who may be watching or FILMING YOUR KID!

I'm writing this review as a mama of two littles who took multiple classes at RPA... and as a current dancer in the adult classes as well. From the moment we walked through RPA's doors the whole studio made us feel welcome and like family. I can't tell you how kind and down to earth the entire studio is. I've had the pleasure of taking classes with just about every teacher and they are all extremely talented and easy to learn from. Annie (the owner) is who I have spent the most time with and she is wildly talented and such a great teacher. She is really good at meeting every person where they're at and taking them where they want to be... all at the same time. She equally makes learning fun while challenging you. Josh's choreography is continually breathtaking and tells a story! I learned so much from him and gained confidence from his teaching in just a year. Sarah, on top of being an amazing tapper, has a fun and infectious personality you can't help but love! Her classes are such a joy to be in. Vanda is warm and inviting. I love that she choreographs hip hop to the lyrics-- making it that much more of an immersive experience. Another thing-- these adult dance classes are truly all levels, all experiences, all ages, all genders. It's a "come as you are" experience and it's really quite special. This studio is family ran and you can tell. It's super welcoming here! Every staff member, from the instructors to the parents in the waiting room are really friendly!! What I'm mostly impressed with is the love, the connection and the passion, each staff member has for every single students. All while maintaining structure and control of the class. There's so many students and it's very impressive to see them connect to each and every dancer. They are super organized, have great communication and always send out emails on updates. I called 4-5 different studios, before I found Encore, with no call backs from my voicemails, no reply to my emails at all and the one studio that we did a trial class with was a a total fail. They put my girls in the totally wrong level class and the instructor was completely unprofessional. Encore replied immediately and got us right in.!! So, don't settle for just any studio they are not all the same. I have a 19 year old daughter and have been through this industry before. I'm a dancer myself, (well I'm only dancing in the kitchen these days lol) but let me tell you, sometimes it is like an episode of dance moms and it's important to find the right fit if your trying to build your child's confidence in dance and plan on having them dance long term. After his class they gave him ribbons that said he was ready for the next class and one for completing his 1st swim class. He was so thrilled! They have so much to offer.
