I decided to give it a try during their week of free classes in early January, and I'm so glad I did! Everyone was friendly, and they took a little more time to breakdown some of the dances since there were so many new people visiting that week. I would describe DANCEFIX as a more "dance version" of Zumba. There's a mix of Latin, Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop etc. which makes it appeal to multiple people. It's high energy and lot of cardio, so everyone is sweating by the end of it. It took an amount of concentration to follow the different routines, but I felt so good afterwards and was excited to try it again. This particular studio is smaller, but it made it easy to see the instructor and even with a full house, there was plenty of room to move around. It was difficult to find, so know that it's inside one of the buildings and directly across from the Sleepy Bee. They have a cool down period at the end of class (they provide yoga mats or you can bring your own) with some short exercises and stretching. Wear footwear that you're comfortable in, but I would highly recommend wearing jazz sneakers or something that's easy to do spins and turns to prevent risk of injury. Give it a try and have a blast!

They opened in the middle of the pandemic, but that really has not stopped their growth of clientele. I'll start with safety. Everyone is spaced out and has their own machines and dumbbells to use. They do a cleaning after each class and you have to wear your mask to move about the class or be in any other space of the building. I have always felt very safe while in there and I am one who is definitely paranoid about the virus. Now, moving on to the workouts. It's basically a high intensity work out for an hour. You spend 15 minute increments on the floor with weights and on the treadmill- two times for each. No class is the same and no instructor is the same. I love that because you're getting a different experience every time you walk in the door. Your body will constantly be challenged because of this also. I will say that each instructor is very motivating and great at pushing you to be your best you inside and outside of the classroom. None of that "earn what you eat" mess. That's the number one thing that keeps me coming back. I've been to a lot of other gyms in the city and this one takes the cake. Check them out!

And yes I go at diff times diff days of the week. If they aren't able to add another one my suggestion would be to have a sign up on the half hour. There's also zero hot water, not even warm, and I've tested every shower in the women's locker room. I also tested the faucets. Water only freezing cold.. So do not plan on showering. I notified management but nothing changed. Now I know why I'm the only one getting ready for work after a workout lol. The mason crunch has warm water, so one would assume it's not crunch policy to only have a polar plunge shower option.

I called, emailed, and sent letters yet they said I was still enrolled. They wouldn't take no for an answer. They lied to my bank when I tried to get refunded. It's a real shame because the actual gym itself isn't bad and the trainers are nice. The other gym goers were sweet and funny as well. But they ruin their reputation with bad business practices. Things will seem great until you try to leave which is why Crunch has gotten multiple lawsuits about these fees.

The set up is you go to 9 different stations for 3 min each. Some are weights/cardio, most involve punching/kicking. Let me just get into why this is my new favorite gym. I like lists :) 1. The first class is free! So you know what you're getting into before signing up for a membership 2. The class is only 30 minutes. It's easy to fit into your schedule. 3. Even though the class is short the work out is great and I feel like I'm getting into better shape and losing weight 4. The trainers are super encouraging and helpful. 5. You don't have to have any experience in kickboxing to come here. They show you all the moves before each station. 6. The workouts work for all people whether you're in shape, or not..... :) 7. The trainers walk around and do 1:1 punches or kicks with you every once in a while 8. It's pretty cheap for what you get out of it. I signed up during a promotional period: $50 for registration (you get gloves and wraps), $109 a month. You can go to the gym as many times as you want. I think normal price is ~$100 registration and ~$115 a month. 9. There's new workouts every day Only con I've found is the hours (limited on Sat 9-12pm and none on Sunday), but you can work around that for the most part and just plan to come more frequently during the work week.

I'm a huge fan of the CONTROL class it's an insane workout and I left feeling like I got my butt kicked in the best possible way. I first heard about SOS from a few folks when I worked at L Brands. They had a few loyal customers with whom I worked. To be honest, I was a little intimidated when I'd see these folks post about their workouts on social media. I had thought about trying it circa 2017, but was too intimidated (my loss!). But in 2019, I ended up with a stress fracture while marathon training. I was able to barely finish my training for the NYC Marathon, which I did successfully complete in November 2019. But at that point, it was evident that I couldn't just keep running marathons without incorporating strength training into my routine. So in Christmas Week 2019, I started with the 7 class starter pack just to try it out. I even joined Team Tread (their half & full marathon training program)in their Columbus location in January to start training for the Nashville Half in April 2020. Unfortunately for me, my SOS morning routines were abruptly halted in March 2020. But luckily, my team tread registration got me into the "digital studio" which I had no idea what it was at the time. I very quickly uncovered that it's all the same studio instructors and they have recorded classes with new uploads almost daily as well as a huge library of online classes (which as you can imagine has only grown in the past 5 years). I did what everyone else was doing and immediately ordered as many dumbbells, resistance bands, and other equipment to build up a "home SOS studio" and my equipment has been growing ever since. I moved to Arizona in summer 2021, and have continued to be a dedicated Digital Studio user and advocate. Whenever I come home to Ohio (whether Cbus or Cincy), I get giddy at the thought of going to classes in person and it's a treat to choose which classes I'll take and with which instructors. I can honestly say SOS Digital Studio has helped me get in the best shape of my life. I feel like I personally know all of the trainers (I don't have social media anymore, but when I did, I followed all of them, so again, felt like I kew them personally). When I was in Hawaii for my wedding, SO many people were asking me about my arms and complimenting me. I kept trying to tell them about the DS and how special SOS is. I will always be a dedicated and loyal fan. It's become such a part of my routine that I'm on Christmas Break now with my husband in Kansas (where he's from) and I've brought my ankle weights, light weights and loop bands just so I can get some classes in. Thank you, Gretchen and team for helping me be the best version of myself every day! Can't imagine what I'd do without the DS and my SOS training crew! (Only word of advice to newbies- the System DOES work! Don't skip out on any classes. As you can imagine, being a marathon runner, I favored all of the cardio classes. But it wasn't until I really started incorporating High & Tight as I prepared for my wedding that I noticed the chiseled arms that I'd always wanted. It's a well-rounded program that works wonders as long as you incorporate ALL of the classes). Particularly about the Cincy location, I love the rooms they have (1 dedicated to The Course, 1 for Ebb and High & Tight and another for In The Mix and Control). You can tell it was built after the Columbus locations! I also have only been here about 7 times total (since I'm more from the Columbus area). But both instructors Tyler and Emma have remembered me. Emma is for sure my favorite instructor. I was super spoiled this past Thanksgiving and had her for three straight days of classes! Oh how I wished I lived closer!

Turns out this location only has hot Pilates. There are no hot yoga or regular temperature classes at this location like mentioned on the site. And you can visit other locations for $5 if you have a membership but i chose this location because it was convenient being only 5 minutes from my home. The rest are just too far for me to commit to going regularly. The class was also super packed. They marked pretty much every available sqft in the room to make sure as many people would fit as possible. There wasn't even enough room for the instructor to demonstrate the exercises which makes the class hard to follow. And Pilates isn't really Pilates without proper instruction. There's also barely any parking so i recommend arriving 10-20 minutes early to find some. Really the heat was the best part of the class other than that i would not recommend until they decrease the class sizes and offer more yoga classes instead of just hot Pilates all day which is why I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of 1. There's potential.
