It has a terrific community feel where students encourage each other and are supported by the most brilliant & caring coaches. The end of year concerts are always fantastic and all the kids get to perform on stage. As a parent I highly recommend it, there's no judgement, no bullying, no win at all costs mentality like there is in some other sports. Everyone is made to feel welcome. I went along with a friend and was surprised at how welcoming and friendly everyone was. The studio, located in Glengowrie, is used for multipurpose activities but has a complete dance studio with all the bells and whistles. The floor is sanded wood and there is a full wall of mirrors and a barre at the opposite end. We attended a Beginners Ballet class which was good, but I was worried ,as someone with dancing experience, it would be easy and a little boring after a few classes. However, after the first class the teacher was quick to say we would continue to work towards more difficult things and she would work more closely with new people that joined as we went along to catch them up to speed. There was a range of different sorts of people attending, school age, 20 and 30 something's and older, more mature women. There was also a mixture of abilities which didn't make you feel like a loser if you have never done ballet before.

As long as I pay my fees on time, my daughter continues to learn jazz and ballet (not tap though, I'm not a monster) and she gets to perform in end of year concert extravaganza's that would rival Sydney Harbour New Year Eve in both size and scope. You may think a kids ballet concert is a cute one and a half our little sing-along: not so. It is a near- militant operation resulting from a great deal of time and money and the result is a four hour show of breathtaking cuteness. The teachers here are experienced, extremely professional, and my daughter has only been there for a year and already looks like a prima ballerina: Go EDAD.

There are plenty of indoor and outdoor area's here including ovals, soccer fields and a skate park. They provide sports such as basketball, dance, netball, volleyball, badminton, weight training, aerobics, indoor soccer, camps, school holiday activities, judo, karate, taekwondo and futsal. As well as training and activity area's they also have a creche on site, function rooms and kitchen facilities. Great to be able to park onsite, drop the kid in the creche for an hour and get in an aerobic session. Make note though that the creche is only open from 9am to 11:15am Monday to Friday and from 8am to 10:15am on Saturday mornings. There are toilets and showers, including disabled facilities and parking. They also have a special programme for kids with disabilities to improve their skill development. Plus they do Sport Birthday Parties for kids. Sounds interesting and like it would hopefully tire them out a little more and be a more healthy party in some ways, if you had all fit kids coming to the party. But great idea for the right ages and kids. They do also have a lot of activities for over 50's - but I'm not one of them so I don't know much about them.
