I went along with a friend and was surprised at how welcoming and friendly everyone was. The studio, located in Glengowrie, is used for multipurpose activities but has a complete dance studio with all the bells and whistles. The floor is sanded wood and there is a full wall of mirrors and a barre at the opposite end. We attended a Beginners Ballet class which was good, but I was worried ,as someone with dancing experience, it would be easy and a little boring after a few classes. However, after the first class the teacher was quick to say we would continue to work towards more difficult things and she would work more closely with new people that joined as we went along to catch them up to speed. There was a range of different sorts of people attending, school age, 20 and 30 something's and older, more mature women. There was also a mixture of abilities which didn't make you feel like a loser if you have never done ballet before.

After deciding we wanted to incorporate some dance action into proceedings, we called around a few dance studios in Adelaide and explained our requirements. In addition to the dance lesson for around 10 people, we also wanted the opportunity to provide our guests with champagne and nibbles AND set up for a vintage-themed photo shoot afterwards using a multitude of props and accessories. Don't ask for much, do we? Dance Generation Studios went above and beyond in terms of exceeding expectations. We met with Annessa a few weeks before the event who sat down with us and went through everything we needed and gave suggestions and advice that was very helpful in planning our day. The whole studio was made exclusively available to us on a Sunday, glasses hire and cleaning service was available for a reasonable fee so we didn't have to worry about cleaning up on the day, we were able to come in an hour early to set up for the event and the dance class itself was conducted in such a fun and light-hearted way. Annessa made everyone feel comfortable and worked with our photographer to ensure we got some great "action" shots before our planned photo shoot. We were able to bring in our suitcases full of accessories, bags of nibbles and bottles of bubbly during the week and have everything stored there, and not have to pick it up until the day after the event. The class itself was a very reasonable cost so we didn't have to ask our guests to pay an outrageous fee to attend and participate. They even put the name of the event on their chalkboard at street level which helped our guests find the place with ease. They specialise in social dancing but can tailor a class to your requirements. We were after something from the 50s era to go with our vintage theme and got to learn a dance called The Stomp. Annessa even dressed to the theme. As a bonus, at the end, each guest was given a custom voucher for a free private dance class! Highly recommend this venue if you're looking for a fun group event for a special occasion. We could not have been happier with the event and the hen's expectations were exceeded (phew!)

Customer service is shocking when trying to enroll my child in classes and I feel like they're happy to take your money but not provide the minimum service other dance schools around SA can offer!
